ping pong the animation has a very peculiar art style that i found hard to get use to. although, the story is good, i could've enjoyed it a lot more if i could've gotten used to the art style.

i've also watched a few episodes of kaiji in the past, so i know what you mean by it being different to your average good looking show.

Hmmm... top of my head, the best ones are:

Kemono no Souja Erin - the character designs are abysmal and their motions fail to tell a story but the backgrounds are some of the most whimsical and beautiful I've ever seen; it's like a tapestry out of some ancient fantastical bygone age.

Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni - this was truly heart-achingly beautiful and not the sparkly kind of beautiful; its beauty is timeless.

Doukyuusei - the visuals and the characters are truly exceptional; the motions are exaggerated, but it's the kind of exaggeration that brings the story to life.

aku no hana (the art style was atrocious at best but the actual anime was brilliant)
monogatari (really amazing anime but the art style threw me for a few episode until I got used to it)

The designs from Katanagatari were pretty great for me. They were simplistic, but the effort put in their elaborated design made them look very cool and unique. I don't think they would had look that good if the artstyle wouldn't have been the way it was designed.

Monogatari also has cool artsyle, but the one of Hajime Ueda (the one used for the ending of the series), is simply amazing. One of the many reasons why I love this series.

I used to say "anything made by Yuasa and Imaishi" like your average elitist, but now that I ascended to super elitist 3 (with long spiky blonde hair) I can look at all you plebs and say:

Kanashimi no Belladonna.

Nothing. Trash is trash. If I watch anime for art then I would've fucked off from watching anime 10 years ago anyway.

Wut? Op asked which anime has a unique artsytle, there is nothing asking if art makes the anime good.

^this
It's incredibly expressive and artistic. On the one side, it shows the absolute majesty of this medium, while on the other hand, it can be very questionable.

I thought I was ready for my SE3 transformation but turns out it was too elite for me.

Not sure if you're joking or not with that private list, so I'll answer seriously. Hentai = drawn fap material, wich started in the 80's during the OVA boom. Belladonna doesn't qualify one bit, it's an arthouse movie, and it's a bit more graphic but just as far from porn than something like Utena.

I really like the art style of Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199 (2012-2013 version).

It blends old character designs with new looking environments quite nicely, not to mention the visual effects bring me tears of joy... A very refreshing anime to say the least, especially if you enjoy galactic space shows like Star Wars and Star Trek.

Either way, yeah, those two, and from the top of my head: Mononoke, Gankutsuou, maybe Diebuster counts as well.

Kaiba, although it has a clear source of inspiration - Neverhood. It still looks radically different, and nothing really looks like Neverhood. I still don't get how they achieved this unreal yet believable look.

The art style of an anime was the reason why I even watch anime.
I don't care about the story as much as the art, but I have dropped some anime that were good in story, but bad in art.
To be honest, I liked Kiniro Mosaic's art style the best. Probably because it has more "common anime faces" in it. (i.e. >_<)

I think Made in Abyss had a really distinctive style, and was also very beautiful.

Aku No Hana was definitely unique, but was ugly af :')
