This was fun. To see the crowed being so invested into this school competition and the competitors being cheered just made it more exciting.

Some of the girls tease about Akane this episode which isn't too surprising considering that she's getting close to Kotarou. Compared to the first episode, this one had a lot more energy.

I hope this show can keep up the momentum.

One thing I really appreciate about this show is the real sense of adolescence that it manages to portray through its two main characters. Whether it be Akane getting embarrassed by her dad or Kotarou slight looks at Akane and that other girl's body I feel like I'm really getting immersed in what it's like to be these two. I think the scene the strongest scene though, as it was last episode, was the text exchange between the two, Kotarou jumping around around and springing to his phone when he sees it light up, not to mention the language that the two are using just really helps the whole theme of the show.

Very nice follow up episode, was really fun to watch.

Akane is quite the athlete, too bad she got nervous for the relay and dropped the baton. :(

Loved the scene where Kotarou returned Akane's potato plushie, really sweet of him to tell her that he liked her the way she was.
My favorite part however, was when both of them started messaging each other, it was sort of heartwarming to see our main leads begin to grow closer to each other.
I also love how Akane influenced Kotarou to follow his hobby of writing and show it to other people while making him rethink Dazai's words.

So far I'm still getting the pure romance vibes from this show and I hope it stays that way.

It was too darn cute, I loved it. Even cuter than the first episode. Agreed that it had a lot more energy. I think this show will definitely be a keeper for me.

Also in the after-credits bits, lol, I hadn't realized the girl that one dude grabbed for the scavenger hunt was actually his teacher. And her reactions there with the bottle of wine, lol. HARD TO TELL IF SHE WANTS IT TO BE "THAT" KIND OF LIKE OR NOT. AWKWARD XD

Loved everything this episode. Especially the scene were Kotarou handed Akane her soft toy, it nice and sweet of him. The texting scene was pretty cute.

The after credit with Roman and his teacher was quite funny. He even admitted he loved his teacher.

Pretty fun episode. The after credit shorts were funny. It's sad Akane didn't win the race. She got too nervous. It was nice of Kotarou to find her plushie. That scene was pleasant. Them texting each other was cute.

Love how easy and simple (in a good way) they made it. Also a very accurate reflection on how kids at that age experience school life and how teenage love starts as well. Can really feel the emotion from the voice acting as well as the drawn facial expressions.

Very good so far!

Simply amazing.

This is exactly the kind of romance I want to see in animes.

Not that shoujo crap where everyone's reactions are just stupid all around.

This show really got me by surprise.

Everything just feels so real... Looking forward to seeing how their relationship will evolve.

Also, the teacher's reactions in the post ending scene ahaha love it!

I love the tone of this show, the use of just OST without dialogue is great, like the scenes of Kotarou looking for Akanes Squeezie and their texting each other at the end. As fun as crazy anime character archtypes can be Its nice when you get a show like this with really genuine characters/interactions

So far this seems to be another mediocre semi-romantic anime of this season, very boring, both MCs dense airheads, no plot or goal of the story in sight. There are many show that could made slice of life without humor based on real life interesting, this is just not a case of that.

Pretty much felt the same way, but what I loved the most was how they both were texting each other at the end and the post credits stuff xD

We got the typical sports festival episode and not really much happened, but oddly this is exactly what makes this series so nice. It doesn't need to be eventful to be good.

The texting at the end was really cute, reminded me at my own my first experience and how much a simple chat can make one happy.

Those last 4 mins gave me goosebumps and made me smile like an idiot. So cute.

The short stories are a nice touch, entertaining and funny.

I'm already on guard though. A group of girls is pushing for Takumi and Akane to happen and i don't like it. Takumi himself seems interested, too...BUT THIS AIN'T THE COUPLE I WANNA SEE AIGHT?! ;)

A lot of blabbering behind Akane's back was also not nice and could be foreboding. I can see the thematics of group-building, peer pressure and bullying coming into play.

Man I really like this. It feels pretty realistic imo, and I really enjoy that aspect to it.
(Both the positives and negative.) My favorite part was at the end; while Akane is shy, she's not painfully shy, depending on the situation (unlike, say, the MC from Orange). At the end she reveals quite a lot of her thoughts to Kotarou. And when they started texting and stuff, that small sense of happiness they felt was really relatable lol.

I just hope it doesn't get messy, like if the track leader confesses to her while she's interested in the MC boy or something. I also feel like Akane might fall out a bit with her "friends", what with the way they kind of talk behind her back (I hope that doesn't escalate..).

The shorts are cute! <3 First the sensei, then that tsundere at the end lmao(Aira? Have we met her yet?).

I'm really liking this anime. I get why some people wouldn't. But it feels really realistic and relatable, the cute scenes are so heartwarming. I especially loved when Kotarou gave the plushie back to Akane and when they were texting each other. So cute!

I feel like things can get a bit complicated in the future though. That Takumi guy seems to like Akane and her friends are pushing for that to happen. And we're yet to see that other girl's (Chinatsu) role in the story.

I'm excited for next week's episode. Can't wait to see how the main characters' relationship develops from now on, they're so cute together!

The first episode was pretty relatable with what parents tend to do. Embarrassing.
This episode got a bit more done though.
It was entertaining. Good to see some development albeit minor. They are so similar in personality hard to imagine how they can possibly ever get together since neither of them will take the initiative.

That other guy seems to like her so not going to be easy.
The ending skits were hilarious. Loving that teacher. And that guy sure knew how to ask her out. He completely got her with that whole kissing and then walking away. -'how to handle a tsundere'

Better than the first episode, while their attraction grows, it was done far more naturally.

While the two are cute together, I think the interesting challenge coming up is that they are moving in fundamentally different directions in life particularly once the boy's novel goes on sale. Will be curious to see if this will be a "love conquers all" type or a "first love" type of show.

Amazing. Two episodes in and they've already established a genuine and endearing relationship between two well-established, multi-faceted characters while providing meaningful character development for Kotarou in a way that feels natural and manages to cement him and Akane as a legitimately good potential couple.

It's not just the leads either. Each main character has a legitimately genuine relationship with their already established friend groups thanks to strong character acting and natural, endearing dialogue that sounds exactly like something I might say in Middle School. The scene where the guys say to look at Akane's butt is incredibly relatable, and all the characters reactions were realistic. Same goes for Kotarou trying to be a man again in the classroom when giving back the stress ball, and his reactions to the Line conversation at the end. I also give points for doing well at hiding the hideous CG background characters with smart framing that drew my eyes away from them. This is shaping up to be my favorite of the season.

The episode starts a bit slow, what with Kotaro and Akane being too shy and awkward to do anything of their own initiative and only picks up steam when the leads starts to come out of their shells. Takumi also strikes me as a fun, likeable guy; it's not really wrong to root for him during the competition given Kotaro has no chance in beating him. Still, I can sympathize with the protagonists given the personal hardships they have to overcome; their interactions are cute in a dorky way. Those skits in the end were very hilarious to watch, maybe because the characters there act more human and natural than the leads (!).

Really cute and relatable. The gossip girls being heard from outside the restroom is quite a common cliche, it was a little irritating but that does happen, though not to the extent that anime portrays it. I dunno maybe it happens more in Japan?
I'm really liking the portrayal of their love though, it's pretty true to the actual romance experienced by most during their adolescence, considering these kids are in junior high school so this kind of young, adorable and innocently pure love is really understandable and definitely relatable to me when I was younger.
Ah the young and naive love that young kids experience is something I miss
Not even just the romance, but the somewhat childish and naive experiences that were shown are pretty true. Boys beginning to notice a female's assets and whatnot may have been a little weird to watch but it's definitely something that happens eventually

I really liked seeing Akane and Kotarou getting closer. It's always nice to see this kind of less outgoing, shy love that is just as possible as the more common love stories.
Roman taking Sensei when he had to take something he liked was really cute, it's an understandable sentiment to really like your teacher when you're younger.
It's not really rare, but I do appreciate Akane being an athletic girl and Kotarou being a less sociable, book smart kid. It's not a rare setup but it's definitely in the minority with the types of shoujo romance that we normally see.
I also like Akane and Koutarou's mindsets and discomforts. Both are relatable to me, especially Akane. She's pretty much exactly like me, I love hockey and karate but I really don't do well when being watched by others, which is conflicting for me. I love competing and practicing in hockey and karate but I always get nervous and anxious during tournaments and games because I'm concerned about people watching, so I found Akane's mindset really relatable. To a lesser degree, I also related to Kotarou, because I really like writing but I'm not confident in my work, so like him I was always quite shy and reluctant to share my work and get criticism from others. So yeah both characters are really relatable to me, together they basically embody my general personality.

The shorts were pretty funny. The first one was just funny in general, the 2 part short with Roman and Sensei was really cute and fun to watch. And that last confession thing was funny and very enjoyable as well.
The OP and ED are pretty good imo, ED is really nice, both the song and the imagery of them getting closer to each other.

This series is kind of weird and maybe a bit plain but it's extremely adorable. I really like it and it's definitely one of my more enjoyed anime of the season atm

I kinda wish they would go on a realistic approach that your first love isn't always the one you will marry, but i do feel that they will end up together in the end. (I'm sucker for realistic endings like in Kuzu No Honkai)
Also i find this to be very cute

I kinda read somewhere that Japanese people are usually the type to act "nice" to other people, which actually causes bitching behind them is more common. So yeah, maybe it does happen more in Japan.
