I feel the nuance is closer to "when people are killed, they're gone (that's it for them)". Or perhaps even "when you kill someone, this person is gone". I can't put my finger on it, but the original somehow doesn't sound stupid to me. But yeah, the literal translation just doesn't cut it. |
