| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Looks like they premiered two episodes today as part of the "1 hour special". Regarding the second part of the arc, it felt more or less like a setup to the main story. There wasn't much as action in this one. However, I think Gran and Lyria got a bit closer, more than I had expected. It looks like they have some adventurers joining them as well to their journey to this Island of Stars. Gran's has a lot of potential to be unlocked so expecting the main series to explore that and his adventures. |

| So they went on their way now the question is where are they going. I got an idea of the stories i heard from the game and the preview but still it's pretty interesting, shamefully we will have to wait till the spring season tho. |
| Nice start, little cliché with the helping the guy from the death, but let see what will happen next. Ooo it will continue in spring did know that :/ |

| The Bahamut looked so cool when it took it that Hydra. It's interesting Gran and Lyria has to stay close together. That airship looks nice. Looking forward to see the rest in the Spring. |

| It's gonna be good story wise. Since I played the game and grinding it every day. The artstyle wasn't similar with the game but at least it's pretty decent. The game itself isn't done with the story, so yeah, expect more if they plan to continue the anime at some point. It's a nice adventure anime i'm sure, which lots of action. More characters should appear in the next few episode when it's released in April. Just expect lots of action and adventure, with an ok story. Boss battles and what not, jrpg style. |

| katalina is awesome, lyria and the other new girl look very cute, the story is nice...the dragons are cool too the opening reminded me of the song from 3-gatsu, i love it too i'm sure i'll watch all of this anime and not be bored like i was with spiritpact yesterday lmao |

| The faint thread that links all the facts, it becomes more consistent and you will understand why there was the Gram death. It seems that in every animated adaptation, done with a history of Cygames, there is always the Bahamut waiting, curious, no? Narrative a little too hasty, the quality of the drawings, it drops a little, oh well! I love the opening, sung by Bump of Chicken. |

| Animation is good but aside from Katalina the voice acting is terrible. The cutting down volleys of arrows with a sword bit was pretty horribad too, if you're going to have a sword in a show, make it act like a sword, if you want a shield, give them a shield. I also can't help but think that the entire show would be improved in every way without the stupid floating Vyrn with it's stupid "kitten" voice right out of Chi's Sweet Adventure. Intentionally having element intended for 5-year-olds that are annoying and detract from the show really kills my interest. Also they haven't left themselves much room to work with. Bahamut was completely immune to Hydra and wiped it out in one attack. So... I take it we aren't going to be getting interesting fights here at all, either with swords or wyrms. This seems like a perfect example of "wait for the dub." |

| Seems the game company likes Bahamut. And the Bahamut + his attack looked like from a Final Fantasy summon. Pacing is slow - this might be a 2-cour or split-cour show. (If not then it might feel weird and rushed later.) Lizard is annoying (+ annoying voice). Gran + Lyria are boring. After episode 1 I thought about dropping it but at the end of episode 2 it seemed like this was introduction up til now. (That's why I think it is going to be 2 cour ... 2 episodes introduction would be very slow for 1 cour.) With them leaving the island ... maybe some more interesting chars will join. At the end some future scenes where shown. Hoping for that older looking warrior guy to be interesting (maybe some hinted romance or rivalry between him and Katalina). I'll wait for episode 3 in a few months. Putting it on-hold for now. |
| Deym... Proto-Bahamut are so Kewl look at the detail so macho! Looking forward for the summons. Do not Open my fantasy Heehehe summons looks more beautiful than the character outline. What is this flash? I like the outline of Lyria when she's reviving Gran on dark deep water like background. |

| Hmm, just like Zestiria this seems to be quite cookie-cutter in terms of the setting and overall plot. However unlike Zestiria, the protag has yet to make me want to re-align his face with a car, so that's an improvement I guess. A bit said they did not go with female protagonist, but it could be worse I guess. Art style is holy shit. I have yet to decide on whether it works in terms of animation, but art style itself is brilliant in every way. Very detailed and akin to the game from what I have seen. Character design is VERY aesthetically pleasing, the background art is beautiful and the fights so far are . Also dat fighting animation, yusss. Certainly sticking for more once the show rolls around into its normal release order. Solid 7/10 so far. The protagonist is less of insufferable vanilla-dude here tho(even if he is still typical) and the art and directing is clearly better. And there seems to be no Rose equivalent which is also huge plus for Granblue so far. Visually this also is far more pleasing to the eye - better art style, no cookie-cutter ufotable template designs that look the same through all of their shows, nice NON-CGI backgrounds, etc. If this was Zestiria all of backgrounds and all of the armored knights would have been cgi. Also while the plot here is not that clear yet beyond basic set-up, there's nothing that can be worse than jumbled mess of Zestiria's "story" The only worth in Zestiria is waiting till the plot hopefully completely abandons the game and gets changed into something directly connected to Berseria, hopefully leading to Berseria adaptation. |

| You will never see her... Well, game has garbage writing so I'm not expecting anything from the anime when it comes to that but designs and quality were rather poor as well. Spring will have to be rather dreary for GBF anime to make a time killer but I'll probably watch it anyway for lols.  |
