Yeah i'm not feeling this one at all,

For an anime with its purpose being scary and creeping you out i don't feel anything watching it,

Its kinda like Yami Shibai but worse, atleast Yami Shibai had that unique visual that could kinda make me shiver with some of its stories told, here its incredibly tame, when something scary happens the loli comes saving the day killing all ambience posing in, the dolls with the red eyes surrounding the mc could have been the start to something more interesting, but i guess for tv they can't show something truly scary + this is probably pointed for teens so its not all that surprising.

Still it seems like this a popular anime so this kind of horror seems to work on some people ,too bad i was excited for an horror anime that's apparently scary, guess i'll stick to Junji Ito's stories.

Keep watching. It will get bettter and better as the story goes!

Alright, i'll try watching atleast the first 12 eps, i really want to believe it has the potential to be scary like people say the manga is,

It was nice to learn that Yayoi may have a legitimate reason for wanting to go to haunted places. Wanting to see her mom is both sad and sweet.

So, nobody's gonna point out the fact that the photo in Eiko's phone showed Keitaro's left hand and not the right one? or that Keitaro was tamed not by a doll but a plushie that doesn't fit at all among the dolls in the shrine (and instead fits more into Yayoi's collection) and nobody, including Yayoi, noticed it?

...No one?

...Ok

(want to think those are gonna be answered in the next episodes)

If you want to write spoilers, write your sentence. [spoiler][spoiler] <-- see how there's two "spoiler" in brackets? Put the first bracket in front of your sentence. Then for the second bracket change the "spoiler" in the bracket to "/spoiler" and put that bracket after your spoiler ends.

I'm liking this show so far but not sure I'll be watching the simulcast. Reason is I can't shake the feeling Keitaro is going to be used by those two girls the whole show and end up plenty hurt. Those girls sure give off some bad vibes and I think their agenda is more important to them than Keitaro. Guess I've watched too much anime heh.

Though what's really up with the girls is what's drawing me into it, sure looks like it's alot more to them so ending up burned in the end is likely. :P

I almost dipped out in episode 1 when the show threw a lazy exposition dump about Yayoi's dead parents at us (such a cliche motivation and reason for Keitaro to stick around when he has very good reasons for wanting to avoid all of this stuff), and this episode only makes that worse by telling us more about why Keitaro wants to steer clear of this. Would've been nice if they could have shown it rather than telling it, but whatever.

That aside, I'm just not convinced this current formula works at all: 90% of the episode is light-hearted with thoroughly weak comedic beats and a distractingly garish colour palette, then we end each episode with a "spooky" scene to justify the horror tag. Really, though, my biggest issue is that this whole show is basically Yayoi and Eiko dragging Keitaro around against his will and blackmailing him with a hilariously cliche and unimpactful "my parents are dead" backstory: he has no agency whatsoever and it's not especially fun to watch him being dragged through this all.

I'm kind of disappointed actually as I'd heard good things about this series, not least that it's legitimately scary. But it sure as hell hasn't been so far really, even though it's very clearly trying. I'll give it one more episode, but I'm honestly already convinced that this anime will not be the one to end the trend of horror anime being either not very good or just outright bad.

I don't have much to say about the episode itself, other that I think nerves don't look that way. I do have a thing to ask about the ending, though: the cycle of the seasons means that every other girl we see in the ending, aside from Yayoi, is the same Yayoi at different stages of her life?

You know, kinda wish they had told the grandma about how Yayoi pretty much kidnaps evil spirits and makes them submit to her, but given Keitaro's reaction at the end, guess he himself didn't even suspect it yet... hopefully he will get used to it soon.

Why does Eiko always wear gloves? We know why Keitaro wears the one glove, so is Eiko hiding something? I was happy to see that Keitaro referred back to how Eiko looked at the end of episode 1, cause that definitely left an impression. I wonder if that will be revisited again.

Of course eiko is hiding something.. And i think it will be revealed later in the series.. May even be the reason why kei-chan attracts the spirits or something happened to eiko when kei-chan got processed..
But this kind of anime is exactly what I want to see more of...
Yayoi will protect kei but I'm not sure about eiko.. I also think it's a mystery why Yayoi mom got stolen by evil spirits and it that has something to do with their family bloodline.

This doll has appeared in many anime and Manga even in comedy anime like Ranma

It's pretty tame at the start. Might be something to binge watch or read ahead. It starts off mainly comedy but has more of a horror focus later on. Assuming it's 3 episodes per volume, gets more interesting staring from episode 7 and will start to pick up from episode 13 and onwards.

A little worse than the initial episode I think but still good. Creepiest part was definitely the nerves on his hand. Just unnerving enough to creep me out. Meanwhile I’ve never been scared of dolls so the spirit of the week wasn’t as frightening.

Still curious about the two girls because man they are both hiding something and it will be interesting to see where they go. Lots of potential in this anime. Hope one of the very few horror anime goes pretty good from here on out.

Yayoi is a good girl (I think) and she promised Keitaro that he will be safe, and then she proceeds to ask for his nails, wth is up with this girl?? Also Eiko is suspicious too, I hadn't noticed that she's wearing 2 gloves until I read about it in these forums. I'm guessing Eiko is cursed too and maybe Yayoi will be able to break both of their curses.

The basement scene with the doll was a little creepy and so far it's not so bad but I'm sure things will pick up even more.

The story-telling is a "mess around with my head" moment,. In this episode, the creepy factor is taken to the max! There are some seriously eerie moments, like Keitaro's hand showing nerves popping out and him getting possessed, almost being choked to death. Yayoi, on the other hand, is incredibly frightening; even ghost dolls are submissive to her! And when she beheaded that doll, it was both impressive and spine-chilling. Her room, well, it's just plain creepy, and even Keitaro is now second-guessing his choices.

This is NOT your average horror anime, that's for sure.

Keitaro's life with Yayoi and Eiko has only just begun with their first occult case out of the way. Keitaro getting exorcised for his curse to his grandmother's shrine, means a new place to explore for Yayoi with Eiko playing along, no horror trips this time. And when they reach there, his grandmother's spiritual sense senses the worse of Yayoi, though the jizo statues are what keeps her sane, with one of them might've costYaoi's mother's life. With the exorcism done with the anesthesiologist, Eiko and Yayoi explore the shrine through Keitaro's nerve curses on his hand, which has to be trimmed each and every time. A basement sanctuary where cursed spirits lie, it's the worst of the worst, and Keitaro stumbled onto a fox ladened with cursed spirits to be possessed by one such doll, leaving Yayoi to save him.

Indeed, Kei was lured there, though Yayoi easily pacifies them all with her spirit, and convinces to his grandmother that she is actually just piqued at the supernatural, though she's his student and saviour. Going back home, Yayoi's room is filled with dolls, enough to frighten and shock Keitaro as the persecution room, bringing back the doll that cursed him and his trimmed nerves. This was more than what Keitaro had bargained for, but because Eiko cannot sense spirits, Yayoi is the true Devil that's going to curse him for the rest of his life.

The telephone spirit and the doll are not spared, and so not will Keitaro's soul be.

I honestly don't know which is creepier Yayoi or Eiko. On one side, you have a loli having her bedroom full of very dangerous spirits that have killed people before. And on the other end, you have the seemingly happy-go-lucky girl living with the said loli and not giving a shit about any of this.
