Well, very satisfying episode. There are some small bits I liked better in the Manga, eg.
i. Gabil's dragonewts have ice and lightning breaths as well as fire breath. It'd have looked a lot cooler if they'd animated it, instead of them just dropping fireballs on the enemy.
ii. Hakurou severely injuring Kyoya by deflecting his sword strikes right back at him.
iii. Geld calmly producing another shield after Shogo destroys the first one and starts mouthing off.

What is this Words of the World Shougo was referring to? Is this like Rimuru's Great Sage?

Not really. The Voice of the World is a sort of System that oversees the Tensura world. If someone evolves or gains a skill or a skill evolves etc, they hear it in their heads, telling them what changed.
Great Sage is a skill. Without going into spoilers, I'll just say that it's unique to Rimuru and is a sort of supernatural hybrid of an AI and a supercomputer.

So if he now becomes a demon lord, does this mean that he will be as strong as Milim?

No. Newly awakened Rimuru is nowhere near Milim, even though he's crazy strong and has a bunch of OP skills. Among the ten current Demon Lords, he's more or less mid-tier after his Harvest Festival. Of course, this being an isekai, he'll ultimately surpass Milim, but that a long, long way away.

Its lika an AI system for this whole world. It appeared in anime before but since it has same VA as Great Sage its hard to see the difference. When Rimuru was dying and getting reincarnated it was Voice of the World that told him what skills he was gaining. Normal people dont have AI assist like Rimuru and they only hear VotW when they gain new skills.
well that's just my opinion.....

They're really not stretching anything, in fact, they skipped a bunch of stuff to expedite the anime to this part. Greatly disappointed by 8bit.

...and this is what you get when you mess with Tempest, the villagers and Rimuru! Time to obliterate them, Rimuru-sama! An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth and lives for a Demon Lord!

I'm actually quite excited how this turned out, expected a fight (or maybe one is coming, not sure since we're already at Episode 10... Don't do a cliffhanger, please...), but at least we got the Kijin and the others just getting their lovely revenge and not take the same treatment for a second time! Wooh, perfect ending of the episode with just counting up and the song along with it.

I too was expecting some giant explosion or something to make it quick, but I understand he did this way to accurately get everyone as well as not make a huge noise. Perfect assassination type magic.
there's a reason for this, I don't know if the anime will speak about it so ill wait a week before saying anything. Hope they don't skip it but if I think back to the LN I do think the talk about how his spell works and why happened first or alongside it? but they still have time so I don't want to spoil anything just incase.

I do love the originality of Megiddo in any case. Yes, the usual solution in such cases would be a WMD class spell, be it a big explosion, ball of fire, lightning or whatever else. The slow and methodical use of what is basically a carefully aimed array of lasers is quite refreshing to see instead.

(Coming from perspective of someone who read ahead in manga because the cliffhangers were killing me)

As decent as this episode was in somehow managing to accurately show AND conclude (*applause for that decision in pacing*) all the "mini-revenge" battles.... I'm worried about the next two episodes.....Going off the title I assume the next ep will [hopefully] completely show him becoming the demon lord but then what would be in the last ep? Hmmmm....

Well I'm not going to worry about it too much....though I do hope I'll see butler next ep and don't have to wait for finale...

oh yeah btw. Loved how they did the Geld part. In the manga it felt the battle was longer but seeing him pound Shogo to a pulp, let him heal, than pound him again, rinse & repeat made up for it.

EDIT: I was actually surprised about Rimiru's spell being called "Meggido" too...I also thought it was strictly a light-laser move...didn't think he had done it with water droplets. I guess that totally fits him being a slime & seeming to be more of a water-based monster (well him being more of a water-affinity is my opinion/inference. idk if that's true in the source material)

Why didn't they show the soldiers that were excited that after the battle they would go spend time with their loved ones? of course they can't, Rimuru is pure goodness so he can't be shown killing "innocent" people, right?

This. It really leaves a bad taste in mouth, mostly coz Rimuru doesn't seem like this type of character to do genocide including potentially good people too.

They did show those part in one of manga special chapter, Farmuth soldier pov
probably a farmer that have family at home... with a kid praying to god for his safety..
but the father couldn't return home and told his daughter that.... god is surprisingly young

in Rimuru defense, he is desperate and know that what he did is evil, His followeres also know this and is extremely enrage regards the fact that Rimuru has to force himself to be neccessity evil more than their own revenge

I see... I guess that makes sense lol. But they made it seem like the otherworlders were expecting them to break out. That can't be normal right

the otherworlders actually didnt expect for the monsters to break out the holyfield, they were expecting blumund ppl(humans) who would leave JTF, they planned to kill human witnesses who obviously saw falmuth's soldiers obvious charade back then, they knew blumund and JTF are allies after all. too bad, rimuru already sent all of em by using teleportation magic straight up into blumund kingdom's border lol

the otherworlders were also not serious at all when they demolished hakurou, gobta and killed shion so they ofc would still overconfident after seeing gobta, hakurou and the others again outside the holyfield

My only problem with this episode is that scene at the start, it ruins the whole gray area of war and revenge for a simple good vs. evil.

everything cant be explained by the anime alone

thats why we got the manga for that part, you should read the manga
rimuru's gift for a 'good' soldier among the bad ones was him decided to not massacring all humans in falmuth kingdom. he also gave painless death on this one good soldier, I think it can be considered as another gift too. not only that, he even gave a handsome king youm for the ppl of falmuth

just to be clear, not every soldier is lucky enough to get painless death. sometimes rimuru deliberately missed the vitals and let em suffered before their inevitable deaths

Why did Rimuru Spared Myulan and not the army tho..
Myulan not only caused deaths of his ally but also betrayed but got spared just cuz she was following Clayman's orders.. but aren't the men in army too?
wouldn't it be more logical to spare half the men and make them fear that Tempest nation can defend it?
also.. can't say about LN or the manga but the anime sure went over with bad guys cliche imo..
s2 reeks of mediocre writing or maybe its the pacing..

cuz myulan is more useful when she's alive?

cant you see how shuna learned how to cast a great magic from myulan? without myulan's guidance shuna wouldnt have been able to cast the 4th barrier, even iF she learned it from rimuru, without myulan's support the 4th barrier wouldve been a lot weaker which would jeopardize shion and the others resurrection project. there's also the fact that myulan had clayman's gun in her face the whole time

myulan being alive is part of rimuru's plans thats all, dont overthinking it

@Comander-07

first of all I want to say, homura did nothing wrong and I'm still waiting for magica madoka 4th movie - homura endgame

all jokes aside lol the reason the otherworlders seemingly a lot weaker was cuz rimuru's cunning choice of ppl

for example; geld, he has a perfect counter for shogo's skill and he also has high resistance to mindhax which means kirara's mindhax wouldnt work on him

imagine if it was gabiru and his ppl? they all would get annihilated

out of tempest denizens shuna and geld are the only monsters who could take kirara head on. I think even the likes of benimaru would get afflicted by kirara's mindhax too, at the very least he would get stunned thus it would give enough time for shogo to shatter benimaru's face

another example, the main reason the old man hakuro was able to stomp kyoya was cuz rimuru basically exposed kyoya's spatial hax to hakuro. hakuro even said himself that its unlikely for him alone to figure it out, sasuga rimuru-sama

thats why in the anime hakuro told kyoya 'now I know your secret, things would tilt on my favour

at the end of the day, prep time matters a lot in the battle

it should be noted that, nobody expected for the monsters to break out of the holyfield. they all got caught off guards

Everyone talking about how cool and amazing this episode was (which it is and was), but it’s also quite sad at the same time. Rimuru, someone who wanted to get along with everyone and did his best to make a city where all were welcomed, eventually came to the decision that the humans had to be killed for what they did, they had to pay the ultimate sacrifice for what they did to his citizens.

What makes this really cool and interesting is the fact that his citizens, who as we see have the power to kill instantly, under Rimuru rules, choose to stand by what he says, even if that means getting injured, however, the minute he says “Don’t hold back” they don’t and fight with all their might

The sad part is how Rimuru is wearing the mask, with the music being very quite in the background, and Rimuru just looks from above at all the carnage he is creating

Still a cool and interesting episode, it’s just sad that he too is going down the same road as Milim

If i remember in the original webnovel the reason rimuru used sunlight as a form of attack from manipulating droplets was due to the holy knights having anti magic barriers that can resist magical attacks, so he had to employ this method to bypass the barrier by "indirectly" attacking everyone. Using a direct nuke would be employing magic directly against them and wouldn't be as effective.

it is, and knowing that the army inside the field of anti magic, and they just killed without knowing what hit them, really show them fear, and rimuru explained that megido isn't magic, he just made some water lenses and made some laser from sun, therefore the anti magic field wont response at all.

didn't expect those 4 barrier fights to go so smoothly. thought there'd be at least a little resistance

what's up with that razen guy? is he really razen? or is he clayman in disguise (but if it were really clayman, he probably wouldn't have said "i can probably defeat a demon lord now")? and he was transferring abilities to that one knight guy? wtf is going on haha

they didn't do a good job explaining rimuru's attack at all. i assumed it was slime balls ping-ponging around at high speeds and through the enemy's soldiers

he's about 60% of the way to demon lord status

interesting episode, highlight has to be finally watching the kingdom of Falmuth get their shit waffle stomped into them from all angles after what felt like a painfully long time.
Benimaru, Gabiru and Souei's attack on the camps were very clean and satisfying, Benimaru finishing the job so quickly i couldn't load up a doom ost... but i doubt they top watching one of most surprisingly best duos, Hakurou and Gerudo, clap the otherworlders hard. Correct me if i'm wrong, but i don't think we've seen Hakurou go all out before with intent to kill, so many of his moves were a surprise (third eye move, his ability to move at incredibly high speeds and detect the funny magic mans dead mans trigger), but man was it great seeing him give Kyouya the largest possible L of the series in extremely crisp animation quality. Really loved that fight, both from how amazing the animation and fight in general was, but also how cocky Kyouya got before receiving one of the most painful deaths.
Very happy with Gerudo's role, considering the Orc war and how his loyalty and role as workers to Rimuru is almost repayment for those events, it is easy to forget that he was also handed the title of "Orc lord" so finally seeing my boy in action was great and he truly lives up to the title, did Shougo and his big mouth in well.

I'll give it to them, the ending was very cinematic, loved the OST played, made for an excellent overall scene. Ngl could be me, but i really thought "Megiddo" was going to be some sort of quick, AOE instant kill move, but instead it seems to be a bit slower than i thought. Eh, oh well at least Rimuru put on probably one of the deadliest laser shows of the century.

This might feel like Kaifuku with that revenge thing (more so because that sharingan-rip off kid reminded me of Redo of a healer with his laugh, face and everything) but it was so satisfying to watch! The way all 3 kids died was detailed, especially when Hakurou threw his head next to Shougo and what a fight Hakurou had, it was amazing!

The OST at the end while Rimuru was murdering everyone felt perfect. It feels kind of sad to see people from earth die in that world (talking about those 3 otherworlders) , but they deserved it. Now, let's see what happens next!!

Oh wow, didn't expect this much brutality. I'm glad all three offworlders got what they deserved, although I did feel a bit sorry hearing Kirara call out to her mom at that moment... Still, bad people all the same in the end. That anti-magic barrier thing they erected around Tempest really weakened them it seems, now they could go full power. I hope that wizard also dies now that he is there.

That final scene though. Rimuru was so fucking cool, I especially like how his attack isn't just a huge explosion or something, but this pretty unique spell. Also highly efficient, no suffering, as if to put emphasis on how they are not even worth more than just nourishment for Rimuru. That moment when the music stopped for a sec, before he called out Megiddo and its name appeared on there with the music starting up again... chef's kiss. I only wish it didn't stop at the end of the episode, but looking forward whether it all goes as planned.

What would've made the mass killing more impactful is if they had shown us some soldiers that aren't complete scumbags. Otherwise there's not really much weight to Rimuro's resolve.

Aside from that an entertaining episode.

Kyouya fully aware of what was getting him reminded of Itagaki vs Imai round two.

As for that trash talker Shogo, I guess he was supposed to be edgy, but damn, his dialogue was cringe.

This episode must've been the most entertaining in this series, and all of anime shows I've watched! I was truly entertained! I like how the three Otherworlders underestimated the Tempest army by a lot. That Kyoka guy even insulted Hakurou a lot. Hakurou remained calm by it and was even being humble. Don't disrespect your elders Kyoka! Though I shouldn't be telling you that because you are one of the worse~!

I really hate Kyoka's face and that smile as well! Confident lots in his personality, eh? HAHA guess what, he ended up dying! I don't feel pity for him, he's full of crap!

Hey! Let's take a look at that p******t, Shougo!

Hokarou's wise words: "You angered one person whose rage you should fear the most. You have my sympathy." <3
But that Majin (the one who saved Shogo) thought it was just a bluff! XD

Oh well, goodbye Otherworlders! See you in NEVER!

Rimuru-sama!!! This was so epic, you go Rimuru-sama!
