Well when that notice at the beginning of the episode showed up I was prepared for some controversial shit. Tbh I thought it was gonna be something like the first episode of Goblin Slayer that had people going completely insane, but this was still fucked up to all hell considering that Kokorogi went through all of that as a MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT BRUH. Creepy ass old dude wtf.

Anyway, the "traitor" reveal wasn't surprising, I had my suspicions on Mikasa the whole time. However, I guess he isn't the real traitor based on the soft spoilers I'm seeing from manga readers. "Seriously? That's So Cringe!" is an apt title for the next episode, as that's what my reaction was to this episode's reveal lol. Dude was really doing all that creepy stalker, borderline future serial killer shit because he was a simp, crazy 💀
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

Let's see guys, use your neurons to think a little bit and stop saying that the anime is bad just because they already revealed the traitor.
I remind you that this is the last game that they will have together, one of them will leave with all the debt, moving on to another game with another group and the others will be free. That is why it is logical that the traitor be revealed because there were few rounds left and because the next chapter our protagonist will be Tenji, they will tell us about his perspective, that is why the revelation
Now it only remains for the protagonist to discover and spoil the plans.
That is not easy to understand ?
Why would you be disappointed if you don't even know where the story is going, or what direction it will take?
For something the traitor was revealed

I think it was good-ish. There were some things I really liked and some not so much. I don’t even read the manga but I can tell that this adaption probably isn’t a very great one because there’s definitely some formatting issues that just look off and if I had read the manga they would probably be very noticeable. Overall the shows been just about like this episode, good for the most part but there’s some things that aren’t.

Honestly each episode so far has been really good, this one probably the best.

I wasn't expecting this to have much in the way of good production but the directing really impressed me.

Two things I got out of this episode:

1) so your friends' sexual history is actually something that you should consider when being friends with someone. Can you forgive them or not, regarding their sexual choices?

2) by the 3rd episode we already know that the glasses guy is up to no good. Now it's obvious that he's not the only one with bad intentions because it's only episode 3.

The pacing of this anime is really...weird, to say the least. They spent an entire episode on adapting a single chapter, while the last episode had 3 chapters adapted. The directing of the show has a lot left to be desired as well. The manga didn't feel cringy at all, but the next episode title pretty much summed up my feelings for how this show has been adapted so far lol. Well we find out that glasses guy is a traitor, yippee. Clearly not a grand reveal since the show just barely started.

Great episode! It seems the one who was the thief and revealed Yutori's secret she did 'compensated dating' was... Tenji! He really wants to be with Shiho and resorts to creepy stalkerish methods to do so...

Looking forward to the next episode!

Well, I predicted before they revealed him that its Tenji's the one who took the money. He's quite the yandere here. But I don't think this is as simple as it looks like. They will not gonna spoil you as easy as that so yeah, I'm more curious what's really happening here.

The plot thickens as Yuichi and his friends continue the second game. It was revealed Yutori was involved in compensatory dating in jr.high because she needed the money to stop the bullies from picking on her and Shiho was the only one who knew about it which causes the cloud of suspicion to grow around Shiho. The twist was that not only Shiho knew about Yutori's past, but also Tenji who was listening in on Shiho and Yutori's conversation. He was also the one who stole the money out of Shiho's locker and received a cut from bumping into Yutori. I think this reveal is just a smoke screen for another plot twist and everyone except Tenji is not off the hook yet. Now that I know about Yutori's past I'm more suspicious of her as she has already fallen into the money trap and believes that money will solve all her problems rather than friendship.

It's always the quite and innocent one you have to watch out for.

just wondering. that warning message of the rape/sexual assault, was that in the original Japanese version?

Why would shibe say "oh you were sucking dick for money" like spelling it out what everyone else already knew. Probably the most inappropriate thing i've ever seen.

And why does he need to "forgive her"? Is this really the thing of like "you got raped so you are gross now?

That was interesting. I feel like having this big reveal and having the motives explained so early on takes away from why I am watching, but perhaps I'll now have to look forward to how the other characters find out what is going on and how to deal with it.

He was literally the most suspicious out of them all so that was kinda disappointing...
Apr 19, 2022 2:55 PM
I see all you manga readers laughing at people saying this is predictable because there are more twists later, but like...yeah. Obviously there will be more twists. That doesn't change the fact that this one was extremely predictable and not executed well in the slightest. The revelation scene itself was too dragged out as well. I felt like I was supposed to be at the edge of my seat trying to figure out who the culprit was despite seeing exactly what was coming from a mile away. But sure, I guess I'll keep my hopes up.

The 2nd game of Bad-Mouth Sugoroku, Yutori Kokorogi's scathing secret of being a prostitute (IDK why it's "compensated dating" which makes NO sense at all) by the 5th Period being the only submission, someone of the 4 is definitely out to get her, and assumptions say that it's Shiho.

Of course, being the first or last to reach the goal still has implications regardless, but Yutori's conditions all matched up, more than "money is the root of all evil". The "mysophobe" that people are righteous until proven guilty in the area of sexuality, it's the intricacy of "protecting" one's purity, and Yuichi is none more the wiser when it comes to mindgames.

Shiho comes up with her own explanation, and Mikasa vouched for her because they are childhood friends, who knows the true heart that's the most sus between Shiho and Yuichi for now. And digging up the past before the Tomodachi Game started, it's clear that someone is after the class fund and recognized Yutori's secret to draw manga.

And that person is the one closest to it with the pen scar on his face: Mikasa Tenji, the overbearing childhood friend closest to Shiho, the first sign of breaking.

Break...break...break, until nothing is left.

from my understanding it was originally 'compensated dating' where she gets paid for just talking & going on dates, kinda like an escort, but then the guy escalated it and tried to force himself on her. it wasn't really prostitution because sex wasn't part of the deal that she agreed to

We've got all these manga readers on the edge of spoiling yelling to keep watching, but there's only so long you can pretend to be bad before it just is. Even if the plot works out eventually, the presentation this episode was bizarre. What did we get out of the long compensated dating flashback other than some fanservice shots? They also introduced that the culprit had a cut then immediately showed it. They didn't even need it to be hidden behind his glasses cause it didn't mean anything till then. Whether or not Tenji is our only villain, he's still unrealistically nuts. Unless the inner monologue is a lie or mixed in some extremely forced way to be another person talking, but if you go that far there's not much to latch onto for speculation.

Also what is with pink haired girl? Why is there someone running this that needs everything explained to her? Talk about forced exposition.

I will say that I'm surprised Tenji wrote the last insult. I would have bet the secret conversation was "I know you wrote it".

The worst part of series like this is the hype and commentary the manga readers can't help themselves but do. Multiple cringe posts in this thread alone "Oh just wait or you think this but it's actually more". Chill let people comment without your nonsense. Y'all are not enhancing others experiences.

This episode was okay, feels like it's dragging a bit and so far none of the characters are that likeable so honestly I'm okay with whatever happens to them. The Tenji reveal was really lame, the way he talks is so weird it came off melodramatic.

I find very disappointing that they already revealed an important part of the plot. I however don't think he is the one who stole the money (can't prove anything, just my hunch), or said differently, I hope it isn't.

Ideally, I would have prefered if the bad-mouth against Yutori was her own action (great act of deception it would have been) or Yuuichi's action to manipulate others. But turns it was just the act of a stalker who wants to manipulate his friends into hating/leaving the girl he loves. Not very original to be fair, I really hope to be surprised...

Because it was absolutely necessary to do close up shots of her posing to convey there was sexual conduct. I'm not sure what else people took from the scene. It added no interesting detail to the verbal description.

It's okay, the constant cuts to the duo explaining everything still hurts it for me. The content is a little stupid but I guess it's sort of amusing in it's own way.

Tenji was definitely the most suspicious of them all, I'm more surprised they revealed him so early instead of holding off until much later. To be honest, I suspected Yuutori as well, part of me wonders if she's overreacting to gain favor with the MC, her instant antagonizing of Shiho makes her suspicious. We'll see I guess.
