Is it really the ultimate Halloween stack or did you get clickbaited? Well...definitely one of those two! This is based on my judgment of what makes for good Fall/Halloween anime of what I've watched, which is pretty limited. There are different criteria here, but all of them have at least one of these:
- A good, spooky atmosphere
- Dark or otherwise Halloween-related themes
- Gore
Of course I've made sure to include some of the good AND some of the really bad, because let's be real here. What is an October without some truly trash horror?! Default order is according to MAL's scores because I'm just that sweet

Gakkougurashi! looks cute enough, but it knows how to hit you in the face with its darker scenes when it wants to. Even then it manages to stay surprisingly light overall, however, making it a good choice for those who may not be fans of the gritty details of full-fledged horror.

Fun fact: This is the only anime tagged both horror and mahou shoujo on MAL. Sounds like the perfect series for a lot of us, but alas...it's mainly fun to laugh at. At least it DOES bring that extra edge that was missing from Ikusei Keikaku.

Based on Itou Junji's manga of the same title, Gyo manages to be one of the oddest anime experiences I've had, both as a standalone movie and as an adaptation. While considered to be a bad work, this film is perfect if you're just in the mood for a gross, bizarre horror.

While it has obvious problems in the writing, the actual story - at its very core - is interesting enough and it surprisingly goes all-in on the horror elements towards the end. Ask me to explain the last 10 minutes, however, and I won't have a single answer for you. The animation also looks terrible, for those of you who are into that.

Really bad horror! Lots of fun. It's weirdly meta for no reason and looks absolutely horrible. You wouldn't believe this was done by a real studio.
Speaking of, this very same studio is also the main one listed on a total of FOUR(!!!) of the other anime in this stack, three of them above the 7.50 line, with the last one being the only entry actually rated lower than this one! Not sure what Studio Deen is doing but I'd say it's pretty cool. Such variety, wow.
Gore: No [I feel like this maybe had like one brutal death tho?? Will rewatch and change this if I have to lol, but maybe stay away if you're really bad with this stuff (even though it still looks garbage so *shrug*)]
