I never thought I'd see someone with common sense. Thank you! As a reader of the novel, you don't know how seeing someone who only watches the anime and states this, makes me happy. People don't care about anything that happened in this episode except for 30 seconds of Kurumi. Screw that, What about Phantom? What about the reveal of Origami killing her parents? The show has many other elements that make it attractive.

Yeah, I don't quite grasp why people like her? Is it her voice? Sex appeal? She makes a boring 35 second appearence and people be like: BEST GIRL KURUMI

Overrated.

People like Kurumi for ALL the wrong reasons. Kurumi is not even my favorite character of the series and I appreciate her more than everyone else.
Kurumi might be the one character that attracks most people into this show but at the same time, hurts the show's chances at making people see what else it has to offer. For instance, this episode was really top-notch for this season's standards, voice acting, story-telling and animation but all that is ignored becuase Kurumi is there. It's quite annoying honestly. I thought people would start discussing about Phantom and the time paradox but, nope, let's ignore all that and focus on Kurumi. I'm tired of that.

To be fair, I think we saw a side of Kurumi we hadn't seen before this episode.

Phantom isn't that interesting yet... Just some untouchable being with unknown motivations who is the source of many of the spirits' abilities.

But the time paradox, that's interesting. Origami seems to have gotten herself into a well-known 'stable time loop' or 'self-fulfilling prophecy'. It seems much like the one from Prisoner of Azkaban, with the Patronus. I'm not expecting the time travel and time paradox element to get the same level of internal consistency as in Steins;Gate, but it should still be interesting with just Shido and Origami in the past, cut off from Fraxinus and all the other spirits, except maybe Kurumi.

Aside, I'm reminded of the case of 'John Smith' and Haruhi Suzumiya.

Kurumi singlehandedly saves this season of DAL. Without her this anime would be much more of a drag.
Can't say I feel too bad for Origami tbh. Her utter recklessness would've come bite her in the ass at some point

They pretty much only watch it for the one character. Same with the other two.

Once they show a emotion or act thier age or get into a helpless siutation where they can't do anything about it they will go up in arms Becouse they aren't stabbing or to turning things to dust . They watch and like the character for the completely wrong reasons

You can tell once kurumi gets sealed ( cause it will have to happen eventually) her character will most likely change

Damn! This episode was awesome, didnt expect that kind of revelations! but i admit it was really good!

Kurumi is back, Origame asked Kurumi to send her to the past and she descouver that was she who killed her parent! Poor Origami! She turned to inverse mode, i admit her inverse for is beautiful!

Kurumi also send Shido to the past to save Origami!

Looking forward next episode!

Shido has the Yamai twins power of flight now that he has sealed them. He is not able to control it very well though as can be seen in this episode.

He has the spirits powers on him, even if much weaker and harder to trigger, not just Sandalphon summons.
Anime kinda rushed on that, same with Ratatosk knowing about Phantom (Miku gave them some information, since she's the one who gave her the powers, but in season 2 she just briefly mentions "my god gave me my voice back").

Hmm... I was always under the impression it was Kotori somehow who went berserk cause of the flames. The moment Origami mentioned time travelling back, it was the expected but very welcome conclusion.

uh in the first time line the one who killed them is origami herself.....its just this damn time loop all over again...in the novel it gets explained as i said
Haha, guess
I'll wait patiently for the next episodes for explanation. This is what I have in my mind though.

It could be that since the start of season 1 the timeline is already where it's Origami herself that killed her parents. There's also mystery about why Origami knew Shido and why she loves him eventhough Shido never knew about her, which I would assume there's a connection with Shido going back to the past.

BUT I want to look back further.

Thinking about it logically, there should be a timeline where 'something happened' (could be her parents' death or even other things) that made the very first Origami went to the past. If nothing happened and everything was fine, there's no reason for Origami to time travel. If everything was fine spirit Origami wouldn't even exist in the past.

Sure there can be loop after Origami went to the past, but what was the reason that made the VERY first Origami time traveled? This is what I'm curious about.

I don't know if the novel explained about this thing or not, since lots of stories are often ambiguous about time travel concept. Guess the answer is to wait for the anime.

Yeah, exactly. This is why I'll never really understand time travel in general. This whole situation feels like a paradox. If you try to wrap your head around it, it'll only lead to more confusion.

Aside, Kurumi fires twice in the last scene when she sends Shido back... wonder if that means anything.
So... from volume 11, the first shot is Zafkiel's 9th bullet, Tet, which allows Kurumi to share senses with Shido while they are temporally separated. The second shot is the 12th bullet, Yod Bet, which sends Shido back.

Now, this is the time-manipulating power that I've been waiting for from Kurumi. Time travelling using Yod Bet!

Oh damn, Origami found out that she was the one who killed her own parents! The Phantom merely wished that would happen. Yeah, of course, Origami will lose her mind and go inverse, but the case is different from Tohka. Where Tohka became inverse since she's furious at the sight of Shido who was about to be killed, Origami became inverse after losing the resolve/goal of her life to kill her parents' killer to which it turns out to be herself. No wonder why her face is so lifeless.

Seriously? Shido just learned to fly like that, and has only just done this now? Well, Kurumi came at the right time to send Shido back in time to change the history. Now I'm wondering what other history did Kurui actually wanted to change? Hmmmmnn...

Kurumi is just.. Sure, it'll be fun and chaotic.. Kurumi, why.. Oh, "strange desires" which visit everyone from time to time.. Well, guess, Kurumi is the type to listen to them, isn't she.. Not that it's good or bad thing..
Em.. Why is Natsumi and Yoshino lying on one bed, and why the talks about Shido feeding some forbidden fruit to girls.. Wtf..
Hm.. Looks like the same creature is responsible from past attack as the one that granted wish at least to Origami?.. What?.. Or did Origami did it herself in fight with her?..
Anyway, this creature has Sephiroth and also has some kind of wish..
Oh, it was Origami after all.. Well, shit.. As if Origami wasn't broken enough, we need to make her suffer even more..
Hm.. Kurumi wants to see, what if person is able to change history.. Hm.. Sounded like Kurumi has something she'd like to change, or see person's strength to change things, or something like that..
Overall, confusing episode, but will see more.. Looks like we'll maybe learn about what happened 5 years ago..

This reminds me of how good the first season was, pretty good episode.

When Kurumi sent Origami back to the past I knew instantly what's gonna happen but seeing her emerge as shell of her former self was great outcome. And I certainly didn't expected that Kurumi will send Shidou back too. The next episode better be good.

I really wonder who the mother of spirits is... my bet is one of the known characters... Kurumi maybe? But if he manages to change the past once they basically have the solution for everything. Still, wouldn't be Shidou twice is the past? Wonder what he does to change the outcome. And it would be intersting to meet Touka and Kotori again.

that was great ;] That thing with Origami being killer is great, I knew it that its her only after she captured that other spirit. I know it is not something new with time travel stories that same herself person is the enemy, but I didnt really exect it untill this episode ;] good that they made it in only one episode and no spoilers earlier.

Shido demanding an awful lots from Kurumi considering he is in no position to defy her.

He said, "I don't have time for your jokes" like he was gonna do something about it.

Also, Origami deserved that and no one can tell me otherwise.

Origami is so irrational.

Also time travel stuff is always so messy. Origami's parents were killed by a Spirit, so she eventually goes back in time to kill the Spirit, which was HER. I'm not sure how that loop would originally even happen - why would Origami go back 5 years if her parents had never been killed? (I understand how once she goes back and does it, it sets up the loop, but I can't really understand why it would happen in the first place). But... no reason to really think too hard about time travel, I guess.

Origami is in the past.
Origami starts shooting at it.
It can talk.
It leaves.
Dat revelation.

New ED version for 2 straight episodes. The moment Origami started falling in the sky when Kurumi sent her back in time, I knew she killed her parents. Congratulations! You hate yourself. Remember folks, ask questions first then shoot after confirmation. I wonder who the Phantom is. She has the same hairstyle as Ellen when she gears up. Kurumi be making me laugh every time she appear before Shido. Her theme plays then she laughs with a curtsy and says "Ohisashiburi desu wa ne Shido-san" and I have to say that is always the most attractive part.

Finally, screen time for Kurumi. I love her! She's one of the best things in this show.
Nice, Origami's inverse form. How come her hair is still short? it's supposed to be longer now and she'll look better in it. Anyway, I want to buy her Inverse figure someday.
