Oh my goodness.... this episode felt so short, I just started watching and suddenly it was over. And more than half of it was showing Tachibana and Kase date. FUCK that guy!! I know this is kinda necessary, life is not a fairytale as Tachibana seems to believe, but I NEED more Tachibana x Kondo moments!!!!

Anyways, another great episode, as always. Can't wait for next week...

That little dance after the phone call might be the cutest shit I've ever seen in anime.

So is that movie a sequel to I am a Hero?

Not much more to say, other than this episode was once again, phenomenal.

I have already caught up with the manga, and I have to say, this adaption was perfect, with a couple of extra touches and differences that really makes the still panels come to life, and gives the characters more dimensions and realism.

Even though I hate Kase's guts and believe that he is a trashy person from what we saw in this episode, I can't help but feel that what he said sadly had some degree of truth and reason behind it. Kase's viewpoint and purpose in this episode served as a representation of society's view and outward judgement on the supposedly "creepy" relationship that Tachibana is trying to have with Kondo. I didn't feel like the episode was trying to force us to outright hate the character of Kase, but rather make us see another perspective, no matter how ugly it turns out to be.

The fact is, if Tachibana and Kondo were to actually get together, it would take them a lot of getting over social and emotional obstacles to keep the relationship afloat. I feel like it will be especially hard more for Kondo than Tachibana to get over the issues pertaining to a relationship with such a large age-gap. The situation is definitely bittersweet, possibly even tragic, but I still believe deep-down that the two deserve each other.

Art and sound direction were also extremely great this episode. While the directing is not as creative as previous episodes, there are still a ton of symbolic shots, clever stylization, and subtle character moments that I can't deny is absolutely brilliant.

Definitely the AoS contender for me. This shot of best girl is also divine <3

Why did the first person to criticize the age gap need to be an asshole? I have faith that this show isn't so simple to just close off the topic by saying, "anyone who thinks this is bad is just an asshole". There will probably be a more respectable conversation on the topic later that might reflect on what Kaze was saying, but it is somewhat predictable. Though I appreciate how the movie they saw was an I Am a Hero reference since they both ran in the same magazine.

The first person to take issue with their age gap was Kondo, unless you're counting when Tachibanas girlfriends teased her in ep1

She did not. It was not as clear in the manga as in the anime but I suppose they spoke with the mangaka to clear any doubt.

That's why they're doing a great job with the adaptation. Instead of two panel in the manga to understand she's "dreaming" we got a whole animation with her running, the clock as a starter, change of color, change of background sound, the kiss, and back to reality, with the noise, the normal color and kondou still going away, as nothing happened ... because nothing happened.

Okay, the first outside party to do so, I'm not counting Tachibana's friend since she wasn't actually aware of it. Plus everything Kondo said flew right over her head.

The main tension in this show is their age gap, without that the story would be rather short and undramatic. I don't think they're closing off the topic at all.

If anything they could take a break from constantly reminding us viewers imo.

I don't get it.. In the first 3 episodes, Kase looks like ordinary guy..

But this one.. He suddenly acting like a Jerk..

We already had Koiwai last season from Net-Juu no Susume.. but he ended up like a Best Bro in the end.

But this guy.. what is he stand for?

Sometimes, I really wanted to punch a person with behaviour like him..
in the Doujin, or General Seinen Manga..

Her date with Kase was really difficult to watch but as much as I hate to admit it, it really gave us a good perspective of Tachibana's relationship with Kondo :-/

Difficult to watch but nonetheless, really good episode. I really hope Kase's intentions don't take a dark turn- that would ruin the series for me.

*The manga did a better job of explaining things.

While I utterly despise Kase because he's a scumbag and a massive creep (how old is he supposed to be, by the way? mid-20s?), it was an interesting idea to have his date with Tachibana contrasted with Kondo's: the same activities each time, but a completely different atmosphere in both instances (although I felt that scene at the end with the two movie guidebooks was a bit unsubtle and unnecessary). Also, it was interesting to look at things more through Kondo's point of view at the end, and his regret about how the passage of time has disconnected him from his youth (I also really like the constant contrasts he makes between things that happen between him and Tachibana and things that happened in his youth).

Not the show's best episode (way too much of scumbag Kase for my liking), but still a great episode regardless.

I really like the directing. It feels like they put thought into what to show to the viewer. What Frame, when etc. The symbolism is not super subtle but its also not too blatant. I really think the anime delivers fully. Also the way thing handled. At first I was really concered that Kase will get an 3-4 EP arc. But they gave it enough room to have an impact, but nothing more.

Both character are exceptionally well written so far. This is really great.

Oh, boy! Namba Mutta is back with his monologues! And boy, I love Kondou. Like I always said, he is such a harmless hamster. <3

Having stalled reading the manga since it was announced to be animated, even though I have read all the contents that are presented in the anime thus far, I have to say, the anime is doing a marvelous job.

What I love about this anime is how WIT has gracefully captured Akira's cheerful and joyous moments whenever there is something related to Kondou, representing her youth and innocence and Kondou's monologues, including the sudden reminiscing of his youthful days, representing the outlook of an actual adult who is already well past his innocent days, who tends to act all goofy on the outside and does his best to present himself as an unattractive old man in front of Akira, more for his own sake than of Akira's.

My favourite character in the anime so far is the passionate Ossan in the theatre who got scared at the same moment each freaken time lol. I don't seem to have caught him in the manga when I read it.

Btw, so many shoujo manga are full with scumbags like Kase and I find it seriously astonishing how they are so popular amongst Japanese female leaders. There are very few who actually become likable, like Mattsun from Nijiiro Days, but most of them are pathetic and this world can really do without them.

OT: Akira in her white one-piece reminded me of a certain Kousaka Reina. ;)

Wow, I'm really jealous to the manager hahaha, Tachibana just love him sooo much...honestly, I really admire the personality of Mr.Kondo, I think he's not only thinking about himself, but he also thinking about Tachibana's future if she is with him. Kase is just a jerk, I really didn't like his personality,it's really the opposite of Mr.Kondo, that's the right thing that Tachibana dump him. But, I don't know, I think this is like a one-sided love maybe? And I think it's only natural that Mr.Kondo feel a lot of pressure, especially because he's much older than Tachibana...Personally, I didn't support them but I didn't hate them, maybe because Mr.Kondo is just a kind person.

So the older guy is creepy just because he is old. You know who is a creep? The ass who constantly embarrasses his Boss because he won't cut his hair and it likely ends up in food, who blackmails a girl into a "date" and constantly forces physical contact on her against her will. This Blondie is the kind of creep I never want to meet in real life, because I will surely end up smashing his face to the nearest wall. Tachibana still handled it well.

Kase is your average Japanese adolescent who does not understand what he wants from life and what to do with his own. We are fortunate if he does not go on a stabbing spree after Tachibana and Kondo happily get together (which is not definite)

I must note the bit with the businessman guy going twice to the film and being scared on the same moment again. I really liked that bit.

Tis true that Kase is a rat-bastard, but his character design is tops. They truly captured the essence of an urbanite bugman hipster douche. His dialogue and voice were also excellent.

The scene where Tachibana imagines chasing after Kondo for a kiss goodbye was magical. It felt disappointing when you realize she only fantasized about it.

Kondo's inner dialogue on his feelings for Tachibana is superb. One can see that he is conflicted. Akira offers a chance at happiness for an older fellow like himself, but he correctly surmises that she could be a source of terrible heartache.
