Really sexy episode with that gay blowjob and the rape. (At least hinted. The 1st girl he really had raped but wasn't shown and the other one got rescued.) + The violence and the drugs they used on the girls.

Pretty rare. Usually anime avoid sex + violence cause lots of people don'T like rape (if it isn't hentai and in hentai it has a totally different feeling cause the girls often like it at the end).

I liked the real fear the girl felt. Sexy. Also how she managed to fight back with the katana.

bad ass robot Grandpa serving up justice on a silver platter 👍

I don't think I'll be able to bear it when the suffering starts goes towards his direction. Its almost inevitable his family and dog will become targets. I don't want to see our precious old man hurt in anyway :c

Huh, it was green lit because all of this happened in the manga. Maybe it was too fast paced but all of this content was in the original as well.

And the mature part that he's talking about is blowjob, nude people and violence. This is what defines if a work is going to be mature or not in rating.

I don't agree that explicit sex, violence, and sexual violence makes a show mature.

Someone should really make a webm of the horrible animation that starts at 10:42 mark in the episode. It's not Berserk 2016 bad, but it definitely reminded me of it.

Not the best episode, but i still really like this show. The surprise blowjob at the beginning caught me off-guard and got me laughing my ass off. That villain was pretty bad, but considering the show's tone it didn't end up feeling that bad, and the dude isn't coming back anyway. I think inuyashiki could've saved that guy without going for the cardiac massage, maybe if he directly touched the guy instead of his clothes. Once again the pacing is super tight. Animation is spot on once again despite what some could say. The cgi is still okay. I still enjoy the silly fight choreography.

I haven't tried some of the supposedly best shows of this season yet, but for now this is my AOTS.

I don't agree that this episode is mature. It's a pantomime evil bad guy doing bad things for its own sake. Then it shows the idyllic couple living their very relatable and oh-so innocent family life, and then as if on cue, 'oh no a buncha bad things happen'. Then the protagonist shows up to SAVE DA WURLD and from then on it's just a power fantasy. Sorry if you liked it, but nothing about this strikes me as mature. It felt like an episode of Akame ga Kill!

I mean, shit, I like mature shows, just look at my favorite anime, but this... no, this wasn't right.

The episode structure was pretty cliche, generic bad guy, generic happy family, MC saves the day, etc.

But the actual contents of the episode weren't. The "generic bad guy" clearly had a rape fetish, based on the forced blowjob at the start. He also seems to have a lot of power within the Yakuzo community based on his size and strength. It's no surprise he has built a mindset where he can just follow through on his fantasies whenever he wants to.. He can literally call people to clean up his mess.

Also, MC didn't really "save the world" he barely managed to save a guy by blind luck, enforcing the idea that he can't save everybody. The entire show has been pushing the idea that people ARE going to die and we've seen the regret on the old fellas face when he does fail to save people. The fact the girl was still raped and drugged despite his best efforts to prevent it..

The ending may have been sweet because it all worked out, but to say he saved them is a bit of an exaduration.. He saved their lives, but because he wasn't fast enough both their lives will be fucked up forever. Getting over being kidnapped, raped and drugged/almost strangled to death isn't something they're going to get over instantly..

Why do you think it was written so brutally? The anime is clearly trying to show us that you CANT just save people without consequences, shit never goes down perfectly even with super-human powers. I feel like you've completely missed the point of the show and so miss-judged what this episode because of it.

.

This whole episode, from beginning to end, reminded me so much of The Crow. Starring Funboy as the guy in the steamroom, Inuyashiki as Eric Draven, and Top Dollar as the Yakuza Scum. Even the scene when Inuyashiki went to the yakuza meeting was really similar to the scene where Brandon Lee died.

Deciding how people will live the rest of their lives with no room to change themselves is just plain wrong and is in no way what heroes do or should do.

I halfway agree with you, that half being that maybe the grunts could have been spared of the crippling attack but the guys with the suits are too old to change their lives and more than likely have ruined thousands of lives, so a couple decades(more or less) in hell seems fine of a punishement for me.

When I said "save da wurld" I meant it ironically, because he just kind of shows up saves people. It is true he doesn't actually save people the first time, though.

Even if I concede there's a deeper meaning here about not being able to save everyone, it's presented horribly. I mean, contrast this against episode 2, when Ichirou is stuck in traffic when he can hear the girl begging for mercy in his ear, and then it just stops. You don't see it. They don't pan to her being killed. You're trapped in the car with him. For me, personally, I was yelling at my screen "GET OUT OF THE CAR". That is presented with taste. It's still brutal, but it doesn't feel like porn.

Episode 4 throws all subtlety out the window by having the bad guy rape someone in the first 60 seconds. Yeah, he's evil, we get it.

Would've been better if the guy died. Then Inuyashiki would go through an arc where he had to accept that he can't save everybody.

This episode was a justice boner for me.
Inuyashiki is the hero we all need.

He doomed those Yakuza to live the rest of their lives on the ultimate prison: their own bodies.

Unable to see, unable to hear, unable to move...
from what I see, he destroyed a chunk of their nervous systems, basically crippling them for the rest of their lives.

JUSTICE SERVED.

Not all villains need to be complicated. This is the first time our protagonist actually faced a force that ordinary society cannot deal with, syndicate crime. That was the point. These people are scum and there is no way to deal with it.

Some will dismiss this as cliche and juvenile, I disagree. The execution, especially when Inuyashiki called Samejima, was so great that I had to watch the scene twice. One could sense his moral outrage and for the first time, our protagonist truly drops the hammer. I don't know about you, but for me, that was incredibly satisfying.

Unfortunately, it wasn't at all an exaggerated characterization of an evil person in today's society. He was a man overrun by his primal desire to dominate, and people like that are a dime a dozen out there. You think women don't get snatched up and raped in the real world? It's fucked up, and it happens because people like this guy are around.

The truth is that the bad guys you're used to seeing are misrepresentations of evil.

You're allowed to say, "I don't want to face the darker aspects of human nature, and I regret being forced to do so." But you can't say that this evil isn't something that countless great people without any of Inuyashiki's powers are fighting against perpetually all over the world.

I'm sure he did write that part in to show how happy the couple was together, but I just don't see the merit in your complaint. Should they have waited a few days and done it after the couple had just spent a normal day together at the park? Maybe they should have done it after the couple just had a big argument about something?

As soon as they were introduced, what were you thinking though? It was inevitable that they were going to be forced into a situation that would involve either Inuyashiki or Hiro, and any time they get involved, it's going to be disastrous.

In any case, this is the most pointless argument of all time, lets quit while we're both behind. You didn't like the episode, I did like the episode. We can leave it there.

That opening scene was so gross. Eww. I can't unsee. ;-;

It's actually creepy how easy she got kidnapped, but then again this shit happens all the time irl too. Unluckily enough for us, we don't have humble cyborg man to rely on for safety.

I thought this was gonna end badly, but I was so happy when it didn't. Right up until the ep ended I was expecting something godawful to happen.

Inuyashiki dished out the ultimate punishment- he made the Yakuza guys blind and it also looked like he paralyzed them as well...divine retribution at its finest. It was pretty gross to watch though.

Really great episode!

Exactly what happened. I did think in the first episode with the hobo was also pretty blatant and stupid... but I excused it by saying "well, youths are pretty shitty".

But the show just keeps doing it. And it's even more blatant. Maybe episode 4 is what it took for me to realize I shouldn't have liked this show from the beginning.

This episode inspired me to buy bunch of steroids and buff myself, so i can be a mob boss and do whatever i want.

Though the episode itself kinda tells me that they might come back. This anime is trying to be too explicit to enhance the sense of justice. It did it well in this episode, but there is still that edgy feeling when i watch it.

THANK YOU! See I've been thinking this show is like a poor man's Now and Then, Here and There, simple protagonist and antagonist that embody good and evil. The main difference between the two is just how the "evil" side is being portrayed. Like these yakuza guys come off as more hilarious than threatening. But yeah starting to have more similarities to Akame ga Kill.

Wow, that was a lot to process... It honestly felt kinda rushed, a little more breathing room would have helped this little arc flow better, especially with how intense it all was. That said, it was still pretty great and offered a lot to think about, and not having read the manga I can't say yet just how much importance this episode carried, so who knows.

This episode shows a very different side of Inuyashiki (the person, not the show overall) from the previous episode. Prior to this, I would have never thought he would do something as straight-up brutal as this; publicly outing and humiliating a bunch of awful kids and giving some thugs a beat-down are par-for-the-course, but this... death would be merciful by comparison. It's clear that he does it out of a sense of justice, and you can make an argument whether or not they deserved it, but you can also argue whether or not he or any of us have any right to make that decision: he has essentially acted in this instance as judge, jury, and executioner. Even someone as kind as Inuyashiki can be corrupted by power, and in that sense you can say he's no different from those yakuza, even if their ideals are completely different, and I truly hope they explore that deeper.

On another note... is it bad that during that whole last scene I was fully expecting one of them to get shot? Or even worse: we hear the word "bang" at the exact instant it does a hard-cut to black.

I honestly hate stories where they show a happy couple being taken advantage of just because some random piece of shit decided it. I hate it even more when such stories decide to take the sexual violence route as a pretentious way of making it seem mature. It just comes off as a very cheap way to elicit emotion and I'm just not a fan of that especially since the antagonists of these stories are just pure scum who have no real reason for anything apart from being scum. They literally exist so you can hate them and support the protagonist which like I said is just a cheap way to elicit emotion.
That being said, it was a good episode and boy did it feel good to see the old man wreck those shitty yakuza for the scum they were. See that, cheap way to get emotion. XD

While I did like how the old man told them off and asked them to live their lives blind forever, I feel the antagonist of this episode the tall dude should have died a horrifying slow death. A depraved guy like that is not gonna learn anything anyway.

Also, I'm glad our old man made it in time, I was scared there for a moment.

I was surprised that the old dude actually had the balls to go so far crippling those yakuza. Pretty good episode.

At the same time though, I'm kind of getting worried this show will end up being super basic. Other than a small amount of light shed on the old guy's character, there wasn't really much in terms of plot in this episode and I don't get the impression that this show is the episodic type. Hopefully next episode has more involvement with the central conflict and includes more of the cast other than the old guy and a few extras.

This episode was kinda unnecessarily fucked up.

Yakuza guy makes another guy blow him.

Yakuza guy kidnaps, drugs (and most likely raped while drugged...twice) an innocent girl.

Inuyashiki being a boss, and fiance guy living and not tossing the girl aside were the only highlights here.
