Watching this with Shingeki no Kyojin in mind, it's almost a comical experience. It was clearly a money grab by intentionally making a name for itself as the "SNK ripoff," and I knew that going in, but come on, this is just awful. I mean Jesus, I can't even take this seriously.
This was the best anime I've seen in years. I feel like anime has been growing away from me recently, but Ping Pong the Animation brought me back to my younger days; back to when watching anime was a really joyous experience for me.
Another one I'm giving a bit of an inflated rating because of the emotions I was going through at the time I was watching it. It's the series that first made me favor tsundere types in romance anime, and I bet it's even had some influence on what traits I find attractive about women in real life.
