That anime it a lot better than what covers look. I did not expect it to have action and super powers. The story and characters also look good

The CGI did not bother me at all, and it looks good. In fact if I did not read the comments here I would not even know that there is CGI because I did not care about that. I don't concentrate on visuals a lot when I watch anime.

I wonder if every episode will be 44 min. I hope it does !

This show is so low rated due to a bit of CGI...
Ive seen so much shitty CGI but at least this wasnt horrid to look at and take away the CGI this is a good start especially the character interactions and non useless side characters.
And the animation is pretty good apart from CGI so idk why people say the animation is bad.
Although the *stopped* car part was odd its not oh this decides the show as the whole, and the show is doing a good job at worldbuilding so give it a few more eps be4 deciding wether to stick to this show or not.

Though if its full of CGI then i expect the score to go down tremendously since no one really likes JP CGI cause its pretty terrible.

I love Old Man Zouroku!! I'd love to have a granddad like that! LOL!! I'm expecting to see some serious character development with Sana while she's under his care and influence.

I have a feeling this isn't going to be very cute and fluffy for long.

Really surprised that the first episode was 40 minutes long. I didn't even notice until I saw someone commenting about it.

Anyways, I'm a bit skeptical about this one. I'm honestly confused on what's going on like I have so many questions to ask. I know it's the first episode, but I think I can get a grasp about the plot. Maybe I'll give it a 3-episode treatment rule before I drop or continue watching.

Don't get me wrong, I love the character designs and all that (reminds me of Madoka). And the CGI is.. well, normal I guess (the framerate looks horrible, maybe because I've been watching anime at 60fps for too long). The rain graphics (Idk but it looks amazing). I also love Sana being a savage loli. Ojii-san seems to be pretty cool with what's going on (typically old people would be having a heart attack rn). I also liked the ending even though the utaite isn't that really well known.

I'm just.. again, a bit skeptical about this one. I hope it clears up on the next episode because this clearly looks like an AOTS material to me.

I'm giving the first episode a 6.5/10.

I enjoyed the first episode but I didn't mind the CGI animation though. I like old man Zouroku and his interaction with Sana. It's rare to see an old man MC in the anime. Hoping if this episode goes on about how Zouroku lectures Sana about the outside world and how she can use her power responsibly.

Interesting first episode, the only thing I didn't like was the CGI.

Holy crap you`re right. I thought the first episode was the only one that will have 44 minutes.

Basically we have like 24 episodes for this anime.

A lot better than I expected based on the PV. CG issues aside.. old man zouroku's character intrigues me, and sana isn't the insufferable brat I feared :)

and best of all, no massive infodump thus far! Its sad that this is praiseworthy, but there we go. I'll keep watching for now.

The opening episode was compelling and interesting to watch unfold. The relationship between "Alice" and the grumpy old guy could turn out to be very entertaining and fun to watch.

Don't really care about the low budget/CGI, the storytelling thus far is pretty good and relaxed - I wonder what could happen next.
I like the plot twist that the old man is just a florist, not related to mafia whatsoever. I guess that makes him less of a 'rough' character.
Also, did he say Sana mentioned a relative he's never heard of - his granddaughter? Looks like that may be explored later in the series...

Looking forward to more :)

CGI looks bad but the story looks interesting enough, gonna give it a chance, also the girls are cute

I couldn't resist checking it out since these types of anime are always fun.

It looks like it'll be good enough to be worth the wait to binge at the end of the season as I normally do.

Holy 44 minutes! Oh yes, now this has quite the potential to be good as I thought it might. Both leads are interesting, likeable, and should be fun to see work off each other.
This.
I'm still not sure what's to come, but the first episode sets the stage for what looks to be a decently entertaining story.

CG was kinda ugly, and while there is some enjoy in watching certain scenes, it is kinda meh most of the times, animation sucks too, I hate most of the faces, art looks weak.
I m not really expecting anything from this one now, aside the ED, that has a good song IMO.

Fights quite basic animation compared to jcstaff Strikers & Taboo.
Lol mafia, turns out oldie quite nice & a florist.
Many scenes felt uneventful... like a more boring Brynhildr.
Nice music esp ED, the new family pair is cute & nice flowers/bg.

Whenever I watch an anime, I have to set certain expectations and what I should value most for certain anime. The action scenes and CGI were weak, and I'm not even one of those guys that harps on animation, but if this show has more of a slice of life witb supernatural plot hanging in the background, I can tolerate it.

I'll judge this show based on characters, their relationships, their growth and the story overall. On that basis, pretty good episode so far. At first I thought the old man was being forced into some shady stuff, but he's just a florist with a strong arm. I already like his no nonense attitude and how he deals with all the kids, being an old man and father and taking the time to make punishment a lesson.

The story in the background has some dark implications tho, like these kids don't understand that people's lives are on the line and some may be even brainwashed. I really hope the villain isn't cliche evil for power or good of the country and actually has some reasoning or depth as to why he has to hurt children.

As for Sane, she has potential, although she will need to distinguish herself from other lost lamb characters with great power. I do like her reactions and interactions with the old man though, so here's hoping.

Very nice and long start, will keep this on my weekly watch list.

Very refreshing to see an old man as main character of a series for a change. Pretty enjoyable to watch at that. And the story feels a lot like the Leon movie.

And... that's a problem. The interaction of the old man and Sana are great but I would rather see their runaway story without any supernatural things and events. I would rather if they didn't moefy those girls so much. I would like if there weren't obvious plotholes like when they used face-recognition software and few minutes later they lost her again even though they weren't hiding or anything.

I see great potential in this series but at the same time I fear it would be those supernatural elements that brings the story down. And I can't only hope my fears won't turn true.

btw - Sana and Sanae name similiarity / an old man and the ability for wishes to come true - it's obvious this is no coincidence. I just wonder what turns out of it.

The CGI was pretty ugly but I completed Ajin so it's not really a problem for me lol. The story seems interesting. I wasn't expecting a 40+ min long episode. I was planning on doing something else after I started what I thought was a 20 min ep. but watched all the way through so that to me is a good sign already.

I like Zouroku's character. He put those little kids in their place even after they showed their weird voodoo dream magic. He's pretty tough but also has a softer side. He's so nonchalant considering all that's happened.
And the Red Queen is a lil cutie.

Can't wait for the next episode. I'm enjoying this so far.

I enjoyed this 1st (45 minutes) episode. But I gotta admit, the overall production values and direction leave a lot to be desired... for example, that car chase scene was hard to watch because of the terrible mix of 2D and 3D (some do it right, lots do it wrong).

Anyhow, I'm planning on reading the manga afterwards since I doubt 12 episodes will be enough to do the story justice... I hope they won't rush it, but with the manga coming to an end soon, I doubt it.

Like I said, I enjoyed this 1st episode (even if the overall presentation was pretty much lacking), so I'm going to continue watching it for the time being.

And for those few that still in the clouds regarding the duration of each episode, only the 1st episode was 45 minutes, the rest of the episodes will be 24 minutes. If each episode was 45 minutes then its release schedule would have been different (meaning: it would not have been weekly).

I got a slight chuckle between the interaction of the lolis and Zouroku. Sanae is adorable so cute! Animation isn't the best but it is cool and has its own charm. The CG is a bit too noticeable but I don't mind. Very calming show despite the stuff that goes on.

His house have the Sanae tag on it... hmmm coincidence? but they seem to purposely pan to it.
I like how Zouroku doesn't seem to be affected by anything expect for improper etiquette of Sanae.

So lookign forward to this series.

The female char designs are horrible. I think its the same guy that did Madoka... ughh the wideface is unbearable.

I really like the oldman character though, hes really the only reason to watch this show.

Checked this out based only on the poster, and I'm definitely pretty iffy on it so far. As others have said, I really didn't like the CG. In general, I found the visual direction as well as most of the character designs to be pretty bland.

Some aspects of the plot as well as Sana's outfit are giving me a Rozen Maiden vibe, and I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing so far. I feel like the first episode was trying hard to make me intrigued to find out more about the Dreams of Alice and their powers, but I just haven't been hooked in yet.

If I keep watching it, it'll definitely be because of Zouroku and his interactions with Sana. It's refreshing to see this nice, strange old man as a main character and I'm genuinely interested in finding out more about him and seeing what he'll do in new situations. The first episode basically just left me wishing it was a similar, but somewhat different show--either something more like a slice of life with fewer supernatural elements, or something that really cranks up the wild supernatural stuff and has more comedic situations. Right now, it's somewhere forgettable in the middle for me. Will probably watch a little further and see if it really finds its footing.

Really love this.
Definitely feels like Brynhildr but that turned the tension into garbage so was hoping this would do better.
As of now it looks like it'll be heavy on SOL and way lesser on the fantasy part which is mildly disappointing but probably better than being a supernatural fighting series.

Don't mind CGI or CGI errors, everything looks great to me.
Everyone's reactions to their magic feels artificial and strange though. Too underwhelming.

Will probably finish this. Really like the Red Queen. Yet not too hot on Zouroku's indifference to anomalies that break common sense.

I quite liked it. It's a bit (so far) like a watered down Elfen Lied crossed with A Date-a-Live with a bit of Flip Flappers with a few other bits and bobs here and there. I like the car. Having owned a few Mini's in my younger years, I felt happy that onc again the Japanese love of this car materialised. As for the animation, if you can seek out some of the stuff made week to week in the 70's and 80's the backgrounds shake so much that your eyes start to jiggle. CGI or not , there's pros and cons to both. I can't wait for the second ep. To see what happens next...

Okay, I'm halfway through this episode and had to stop. This started off very cool, even though the giant arms thing looked kinda silly. But then the CGI car scene happened. Oh my fuckin god that was attrocious.

I also love that idiotic police officer: There were little girls summoning wrecking balls out of thin air? Pfff! WHATEVER! You talked to the yakuza, didn't you old man?!!!!

You know what I liked more of this series, that Zouroku born the same day as me (June 19th) the series is a bit strange and incomplete but I love it.
I like to post in manga forum when I feel it is worth it, so people will think. "Shit, is her again" or something.

People asked me where I read certain thing but the rules say no telling where did you read so maybe I am too boring for not saying? Or salty because you didn't check my profile that says don't ask because I hate people to ghost me after that. I love learning languages so maybe I did not read the manga in English.
