Ah <3

I feel like these TV series will finally allow us to see the character fleshed out more than they were before. Particularly excited about Diana. She was my favorite in the movies~

Will most likely change this soon. || PNCH || PPFC || Anime Familia || EHC

Its 25 episodes, I'm so glad. Akko still need to learn a lot, and not to rely with the shiny rod. Seeing the trio saves the day reminds me of the movies. So eager to know more about Diana and Ursula. The episode was quite refreshing and beautiful. I love the visuals on the ED.

It's not just your head canon. They confirm it in The Enchanted Parade.

And yeah I know the 2 movies aren't canon for the TV series but you would be right in thinking that her character is meant to be from a noble family.

Though less hectic, the episode can be magical in his narration, I am satisfied! The plot, as planned, begin to relate the character of Akko, cone those of the rest of the cast, so there is no plot twist that I had not budgeted earlier. The designs, from the retro lines, or as someone said, have a very Disney-like, they are made very beautifully. Even the animations have almost no defects. The quality of the prop designs, is superb and it has that connotation so charming, that anime should have, when it comes to matters pertaining to the field of magic. The characters already by now, have a strong characterization, which makes them distinguishable from each other. Very nice soundtrack, cute the opening, but the ending has that extra something, given from the video.

Sucy is already becoming my favourite character, with her meme-baiting scenes which are just hilarious! XD

Diana is also pretty cool, with the exception of her two snobbish followers though. =/

Either way, her magic to move the statue was awesome. Excellent animation for it as well.

The OP is growing on me nicely, but the ED song is superior. Relaxing and happy, it might be my favourite ED song this season so far.

Great episode once again. =)

nice episode but im just waiting for the plot, if there is one...
"My name is Yoshikage Kira. I'm 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where the villas are, and i am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and i get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but i occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get 8 hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last checkup."

Well my head canon they have lofty expectation, and they are stereo type rich a-holes. There is a reason Diana went from going to a Shinny Cherriet show to having the public opinion Shinny Cherriet is a disgrace, I think her parents are the main influence of why Diana does not share the same opening fondness for SC that Akko does.

Anyway I am hoping we get a parents night episode, it was fun when Rosario + Vampire did it, I am hoping we have one here, I am sure it will be just as fun.

Diana doesn't come across as arrogant to me, just slightly detached and standoffish, possibly as a result of having to hold herself back for many years due to family issues.

Notice that she never insulted Atsuko or Shiny Chariot, just stated the fact that the latter isn't held in high regard in the magic world. Depending on how you look at it, you could also say that she did it to warn Atsuko so she wouldn't be attacked by others over what she likes. She was also willing to let Atsuko prove herself instead of dismissing her claim outright, and refused to take credit for someone else's work.

Hardly the behaviour of an arrogant prick.

Of course, she is still to blame for not keeping her two lackeys in line, though she would probably step in if they start literally attacking other people.

Okay two predictions for down the line.

1) Diana has that final card that Akko is missing.

2) Diana's parents or at least her mom is going to be some what major antagonist. They probably are major contributors to the university, so they probably have the principal or head master as their puppet. I could see them threaten Ursula that could have her fired if they wanted to.

Here's a true AOTY it's downright enchanting (pardon the pun) with a lovable cast of characters, especially with raggedy Anko our lovable underdog, Sucuy our lovable oddball and Lotte the lovable nerd! Diana gets introduced in this, being kind of the bully but given her family's lauded reputation I can imagine how much face she has to put on to be the perfect girl everyone expects her to be.

Love this show it's fantastic!

Cavendish is a real British noble family that still exists today. So, Dianna's backstory wasn't to surprising.

Fun fact: The banana we eat today is the Cavendish banana named after William Cavendish, 6th Duke of Devonshire.

I thought this episode was really cute, I can't wait to see more world building. I am also glad Dianna gets to be a pretty dynamic character from the start.

I like Diana. She isn't a haughty girl who looks down on everyone and thinks she's the best. She's a nice girl. It's just that those two girls by her side give the impression that Diana is an arrogant girl. She should stop those two from praising every single thing she does.

Ursula either has some link with Shiny Chariot, or she's a big fan of hers, or she has a muggle background. She most likely has a reason to want to help out Akko other than just wanting to help her because of her background.

Akko's card collecting was of use here as she figured out that the parasite looking thing isn't something bad but is the super rare magical butterfly. And these magical butterflies look like glowing naked girls with wings...

Diana is cool, she's good and not mean (expect her little friends), but still her pride got in the way at the final scene!
It was an interesting episode, and her teacher sure is hiding something!

I really like this version compared of the OVA (it's the first "movie" but is damn 26 minutes to be called movie lol), Diana & Akko's personalities are more enjoyable.

Sucy's weed-lover faces are so funny to watch xDD

Nice butterflies scenes (ugh is so hard to remember the exact name =v=u )

A nice episode. The Papilloya were so beautiful.

I'm hoping the chemistry between the girls starts to improve. Also hoping to see Sucy get more screen time!

I'm really intrigued as to where the story is going exactly. At first I felt kind of impatient, but then I realized this was two cour. Which I hope it continues through the spring season, I don't really want a break. I'm fine with this taking its time and hopefully we get some more world building too.

Diana should have stayed and owned up to Akko's magic in regard to the chrysalises. Diana does not want to take credit, but I think she was a bit humbled that Akko knew something she did not.

I like how Akko had picked up some legitimate knowledge from her Shiny Chariot cards, but couldn't keep her eyes open during the academic lectures. Human nature in a nutshell.

I really love the atmosphere: the art is very bright and colorful just as I expected. I hope Trigger will manage to maintain this quality.

Diana might seem a little conceited, but she isn't that bad. I'm looking forward to the character development between the main characters.

Also, the OP/ED are quite nice as well.

I can explain.

It creates this magical world that is engaging stars an MC who doesn't have powers but really believes in her dreams no matter how silly they are. She doesn't change for anyone.

But let me tell you about one thing they did well in episode 2. Diana before all this was just your standard know it all bitch character. She was an anime version of Mandy from Totally Spies. But in this episode they showed she was more complex and that she has flaws. She isn't just your standard know it all bitch. She is a character that still has a lot to learn and she knows it. She can act like it all she wants, but she will learn from what happened here.

This shows does a good job introducing you the characters and can tell you a lot about them without them saying much. I mean look at Sucy. She didn't say nothing for 20 minutes but you see her personality and what she likes and dislike. And what does she think.

Wonderful episode. I just love the real Trigger anime on this. Because damn its good, They are good at the soft fluid animation that is just so appealing.
and Akko is such an adoring girl to just watch. Her motivations are clear as day, pure as can ben an so gosh darn honest.

I like the introduction of Ursola, I did however expect a lot more of disrespect and classic anime 'better than you' girl for atleast a few episodes. But at the same time I am glad to see that they just start out with Akko gaining her respect to some degree.

I cant wait to see more of Akko discovering the world of witches as well as seeing the other characters from the movies. Great episode 5 stars, hoop they keep this up.

Its because this anime is special, at least to me.. Its been so long that I've seen an anime that keeps me glued to the screen and no outside noise will distract me.. Its making me so happy I picked this medium again and its making me feel like a 1st day anime fan again.

It's with great pleasure that I come back to this license.
This episode of presentation was nice to see and seem completely out of step with Akko's idea. It's funny to see Akko complains (who doesn't even notice the little magic trick of Sucy xD)

I hope the series will be more interested in Lotte and Sucy because I find them to be invisible. They played a more important role in movies...

I'm glad they are not making Diana the Draco Malfoy of this series. She's very racional but not a snob, I'm liking her more and more.
I wonder if we will see some kind of conflict involving the expectations around her considering the end of the ep.
That said I wish this episode would play later cause I want more development for our main girls friendship in the beggining.

Akko is learning the hard way that witches aren't what she had imagined as a child. Hopefully this won't discourage her to becoming the witch she wants to be!

Yay! Diana is here and her aristocratic attitude is great to balance out Akko's cheerful personality. I'm so excited to see the "rivalry" between the two witches.

5/5- That end scene was beautiful. I loved it a lot. More character building for Akko as she finds out her idol isn't well respected in the academy while still maintaining her wish to become a witch like Shiny Chariot. I always enjoyed Diana's character as I feel like she's the perfect person to balance Akko's personality in the show.

And Sucy is just awesome.
