I could tell that the pacing was very fast even if I didn't read the manga.
I enjoyed it though and really liked how chill Kazama was with everything he did.

Beautiful. I just started a running regime myself a few weeks back and can appreciate just how hard it is to run up mountainsides. Can also relate to just how consistent training does actually improves your stamina and physical abilities.

Now that the easy part is done, it's time for him to learn to actually play the beautiful game.

And is it just me, or do I see flashes of Giant Killing in this show. It's not just the hairstyles and the fact this is also a football anime. I get the exact same vibe somehow.
Looking forward to more next week.

still building up the first year character and probably still in the next episode.
but damn seriously. everyday, in one week, doing a lap almost over 10 times. not suprising if that was the result xD

Running, Stamina : Checked

now is time for the skills/ball control.

Seiseki, fight ! Fight !

Okay, I'll admit that this episode got me way more hooked than the first. We get to see the other first-years, and their relationship with Tsukushi. The MC is kind of naif, but really cute and just gives it his all ! You can't help but admire his determination !

I knew he would be leading the pack, was so happy when I saw the other team's reactions ! That's what you get when you make fun of Tsukushi~

It was so badass when the captain said that Tsukushi would lead the team two years from now on !

Good show so far. I love the bit where our hero goes through a lot of running...which enables him to effortlessly run the ""Hell week'' course at the end.

And yes...tsuakmoto....future captain? Oh yes....

Basically Tsukamoto = Tsubaki from Giant Killing , Both animes are about football and Tsukamoto and him almost have the same personality and will probably have the same role in the team as Tsubaki did , so it's probably impossible to see a better fit

:o Better watch that anime

One more to add to my list. I never really got into these sports anime before, but this has been pretty good.

This anime is not great, but neither that bad to not watch it, hope it will step up the game once we get to see some matches. The gay vibe continues.

Huh, I never got that vibe. Personally I see Jin, much like the synopsis says, as a prodigy player that never had to really try to be good at soccer. At first he's amused with Tsukushi, but then quickly turns into respect. After all seeing the amount of effort Tsukushi has to put in just to progress a small step forward is hard not respect. From Jin's attitude and the coaches comments it's probably he wouldn't have played for the team if Tsukushi hadn't tried out.
Are they pushing the underdog starts from nothing and inspires everyone theme pretty hard? Of course, it's that kind of feel good anime.

I was trying to enjoy this episode, but...

The art is unsettling. Those blushing (?) cheeks are annoying. And what's with the Kazama's onesie?..
Tsukamoto became the best in running way too fast (and I am talking about how it was shown to us). Also, he still runs like he is about to break any moment. Maybe if his posture changed a bit, I would have believed in his progress.
Kazama looks ridiculous running with his hands in pockets.
Mizuki saying that Tsukamoto will become captain really surprised me. I did not get his reasoning.
Tsukamoto saying that he enjoyed training with his teammates and had fun in the club also left me puzzled. It was not shown to us, the viewers, how that was real and why Tsukamoto even thought that way.

I feel sad that I cannot connect with the story... The characters' motivations are not shown, the development of relationship is also skipped. I hope this anime acquires more depth.

A captain is not necessarily the strongest one, Tsukushi can become a captain 2 years later because he was leading his teammates and when they're all gonna be in third year, he's probably gonna be the most suited one

At the beginning of the show you can tell that he's having a hard time making friends because of his shyness but with the club he can pratice with his teammates while knowing them better and that makes training fun

Poor Tsukamoto! Glad he got to show his worth in the end.

It makes me cringe to see him looking so..pathetic? But I guess the idea is to show how he improves a player.

I knew it, Tsukushi would be in the lead. All that running didn't go to waste. He has the most stamina in the group. I run and do strength training regularly and when we went mountain-hiking, I still had a lot of energy when we reached the peak but a lot of my friends stopped halfway or even a fourth-way through since a lot of them don't workout and have sedentary lives. When I didn't workout for more than three years, even climbing a short set of stairs got me winded and I felt like I was dying. Nothing feels better than sweating it out during a workout, maybe a shower afterwards. Also back in school, the ones who worked out regularly by playing sports and who were more physically active in general had no problems in P.E.

I find the premise to be cliché with him being such a Wimper McWimperdoodle and being overly timid but most series start out like that such as Sena from Eyeshield 21. Still, he is brave and I think it was really noble of him to offer running laps for the entire team although entirely unnecessary, it did build up his stamina and strength. He might be the new captain in two years just like their captain said. Everyone laughed at him when he said he was a player on the team except for the guy who asked for Mizuki's autograph.

I agree that captains are not always the strongest ones :) I just did not get it why Mizuki thought Tsukushi could become one. What made him think so that fast? He said it with such conviction, but I could not tell where it came from...

Well, Tsukushi being shy and unable to make friends is true, but to me, he is too agitated about something that trivial (also, making those big speeches).

Kazama running like it's not a big deal with his hands in his pockets while the others are clearly exhausted...lol.

Also I did expect some improvement from Tsukushi but not to the extent to be leading everyone like that. Hopefully the way he runs will change too.

It was a fun episode. Looking forward to getting to know the characters in more depth.

i don't think running for couple of weeks would make tsukushi so fast to the point where he would be leading his group , i mean he is still running like a damn 12 year old girl with her hands in the air , also i know it is baddass to run with hands in pockets but that way one will lose his balance .

Overall averege episode , but i am not going to drop this .

I liked this episode much more than the first it was a straight 5/5 episode for me! While the 1st was more of a 3/5, okay but nothing really exciting.

But this was great, how the MC endured the hell of running training and it payed of in the same episode and showed these bullying fuckers what real passion is! :3

I just loved the episode.

Tbh I have nothing to say about this anime and I'm not sure if it's from how flawed it is or how unflawed it is but I can say that it's kind of nice since I haven't seen a lot of sports anime watching a sports anime with this type of MC.

WARNING : READING THIS WILL MAKE YOU LIKE THE ANIME LESS

I know that this is anime but isn't it a bit UNREALISTIC. I mean someone can't get that good at running that fast in less than a year especially because he had not talent.

It's impossible and he would get injured very badly and there are hundreds of injures and diseases that athletes always have to watch out for and if he works that hard he should definitely have gotten some kind of injury.

The amount that the team practices for is already reaching the limit everyday since your body needs to rest. Especially when the guy is a total newbie the normal training should already be giving him injuries.

I loved the episode but it's extremely unrealistic. IT"S SORT OF HARD TO GET MOTIVATED BY IT NOW.

Even though Tsukamoto is the weakest player in the team, at least the other teammembers have accepted him, pretty impressive to see him lead the first years in that run

Pretty interesting to see that their school is a power house, instead of the usual underdog

Punishing the whole team for the failures of the minority is just asking for that minority to be bullied. If they want to eliminate the underperformers, then they should just create clear cutoffs and eliminate those that don't clear them. Encouraging bullying is absolutely not the job of any educational institution, nor is it healthy in any team sport as it erodes team unity. The coach should be the bad guy in the players' minds, not any of the players.

I hope this isn't going to be a love triangle. Though, I suppose that depends on Sayurin.

I really wish the series was more realistic. Its not bad, but it would be better with a bit more realism.

If that coach isn't a reference of Roberto from Captain Tsubasa, it would be a pretty close one.

Better than the first episode. Tsukushi's wimpy attitude is still embarrassing to see but I admire the kid's determination.
