What the hell? Karura and Touka? I thought this series took place in the distant future?
Not that I'm complaining. Nice to see them again. Karura is as hot as ever.

Nice dose of nostalgia. Best episode since the first one.

Yes it does, like 20 Years after the ending of the first. But you're also forgetting the fact that these people have very long-life spans. 20 years is nothing to them.

And Touka appears too, I guess I'm in heaven. Did she become nun? :D
Character interactions in this epiosde was pure greatness.

Nope, that's just the inn's uniform

Hmm, but now just I have to wonder... what if Haku is really Hakuoro from the old days? Is that even possible? (I hope he's not as that would make his relation with Kuon somehow... problematic :)

Not possible at all, as Hakuoro by the ending of the first Is

This was a cool episode showing the background of Kuon. Who would've known that she would be raised by a number of mothers. I wonder if there will be any development for Haku's origins, why he forgot his past etc. I think it would be cool to have background episodes for the other female cores too.

What the? Dude, they were part of Hakuoro's Harem (Season 1). That is why, they kept saying that Haku looked similar to Hakuoro

On a side note:Told you guys that this series will have the characters from S1, it is a trilogy after all lol

Anyways, haha Touka and Karura are here. Honestly, these are the two badasses from the first season. Plus, they were in the Hakuoro's Harem which explains Kuon calling all the females in the group, "Mothers or sisters". I wish, we could see Eruru though *sigh*

So Kuon has many different mothers who raise her? Is nice to learn more about her and have a nice family moment. I definitely like this anime and the setting. Can;t wait to see what happens next.

The concept of the whole harem raising Kuon is hella cute honestly. I'm glad Karura's the one that showed up too, she was easily season 1's best girl and one of the only things that kept me watching. Why'd they change Touka's hair colour though? Her hair matching her ears like it did in season 1 made way more sense...

I'm also pretty sure I'll be surprised if we don't get at least two bath scenes every single episode now.

Also, is "Tusukuru" the... official way of spelling that? I've never seen it spelt like that before and it doesn't feel right.

That is how it's written in Japanese, although one can drop the "u" in "su" since it's silent, but that is only for speech and not in text.

Very good episode, especially if you watched the first season/played the first game. We had nostalgia gallore, and there's more where that came from!

Now, the only way this series will be able to make me Fangasm more, is if it ends with Eruru narating an epilogue and/or welcoming Kuon back to Tusukuru. We’ll see.

Can someone tell me the main selling point of this series? I heard the game is a fighting/strategy game. So is the series about its war and strategem or unravelling mysteries? If its the latter I might drop it because I usually don't find mystery/thriller animes to be very rewarding.

So is it safe to say that Kuon and Haku willl become more later? I mean right now there have such great chemistry and even other's thought they were a couple so maybe that will happen??
Also, this may be the first anime were the OP/ED are the greatest, I mean I could list/watch them 24/7

One could say that the Utawarerumono series is about an amnesic guy who gradually becomes a military leader who wages war against other countries to protect his people while also uncover more about his past and the truth of why the world is in it's state and the true identity of the gods in the mythologies.

I wonder when they will pick up the pace of the story. Too bad that we didn't get the political background of Yamato originally as someone stated.

I'm sure a few of us oldies that saw the old series are going need an ambulance when more of the old cast show up. Especially HER.

I won't say as someone mentioned her in directly sometime ago in another of the episode forum.

I only say that as the pacing is slower than the first one..
but then again it was a mad rush really with that one.

Also I like those that played the game to give input whether the scenes we see are accurate or simply made up for the benefit of fan service.

Like I already mentioned before the political stand of Yamato and so on was missing as someone mentioned before, don't know who.

Best episode yet, without a shadow of a doubt. Seeing so many of the old cast again (Karura, Touka, Hakuoro and even Eruruu) was a real dose of nostalgia and really helped make this episode for me. Can't wait to see more of them and to hopefully see some of them (Karura especially) in action all over again. Heck, if the series takes us to Tusukuru, I think that will be the icing on the cake, as it were.

The people in the world of Utawarerumono have Long-life spans, 20 years gap (between the end of Uta 1 and the start of Uta 2) is nothing to them.

I wouldn't say it's "nothing" to them, but its true that the impact of years is much less noted for them than it is for us real world humans.

I think it also adds a layer of tragedy that because of their long life expectancy, people are much less likely to die from old age, especially during the time of the first Utawarerumono.

The pacing of the story, the character interactions are so much better compared to those of season 1.

Season 1 started pretty good but then the short arcs killed my enjoyment. And didn't really like the ending either. But at least I am getting to see Kurara and Touka. I hope they show Eruruu and Aruruu too.

Since Kuon is raised by six of the seven female characters of season 1, I am assuming that

Her personality doesn't match at all but everything else does. Her physical features and even the eye and hair colour match.

Also noticed how she blushed when she thought of Eruruu. Does this mean she has special attachment to her? I would have thought Aruruu would have been the one since the younger of the two sisters was actually closer to you-know-who.

But who is her father then? Don't tell me...

Nice development in this episode. It was nice to see her bonding and reminiscing her childhood - also very interesting to see that Touka and Karura just doesn't run an inn, but also observing and spying for potential threats against Tuskuru.

I hope they will keep this up, and doesn't go back to Haku doing odd jobs.

I'm just going to say that The first anime was WAY biased towards Eruruu.

Play the VN, don't bother referring things from the end of the 1st anime, as it omits many things regarding other characters especially one of the ending scenes that leads into Uta 2.

As people have said, the best way to understand the backstory is to play the rpg/strategy eroge that was the source for the first series. The real explanation of who Kuon's mother and father are, and why Karura and Touka (who are by no means the motherly type) have ended up helping to raise Kuon, is found there. The first series of the anime nerfed several important things to force a traditional one girl ending out of a harem game, hence some of the confusion as to who Kuon's biological mother is. Of course if you can't or won't play the VN/game, you can make do with the first series which is pretty good.

And for those of us who know who they are, it was really nice to see Karura and Touka again as they were two really appealing members of the Tusukurun court. Don't be fooled by their laid-back demeanour, these are not women you want to get on the bad side of.

The animation did fine job.
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.
