| It was alright, if a bit dull. It feels like Champloo transplanted into a different setting (which makes sense considering the staff), and it doesn't quite measure up. A lot of "tell, don't show" as well. I'll give it 3 episodes, hopefully it improves. |

| Pretty solid episode, it's interesting to see studios take risks such as these and delivering us something outside our comfort zone. The setting felt very Americanized, I almost forgot about paying any attention to it as an anime at all which is definitely a plus. The universe their in still raises a few questions for me but I'll be excited to see where it's headed from here. 4/5. |

| So happy right now because NO CENSORSHIP RELIEF. It feels so good to know there is no censorship happening because IMO it is disrespectful to the original work and ruins my experience. Okay that was kinda rant-y / sorry / can't help / not trying to start a censorship debate I'M JUST SO HAPPY there wasn't any. Loved the OP and ED, but the OP esp! <3 Loved this ep - the directing, the pacing, the music, the lovely action, the characters, and MORE. All of this while watching the story being clearly set in place...this is what I was hoping for. All of the seiyuu were brilliant. Excellent casting. Amazing performances by everyone. I'm in I-just-watched-it-land...but I think I'm going to love this. I think this adaptation is going to win my love. *excited* |

| Fucking good start. Not worried about exposition, this episode focused more on building atmosphere and characterization, which I thought it did very well at. No immersion breaking censorship is so relieving. Nicolas speaking was bone chilling, that was very well done. Glad I chose not to read the manga for now, this is gonna be a fun ride. Best thing about this is the Tsutchie beats. Perfect fit for the setting/atmosphere a la Nujabes, it's so great to have this style back. |

| Holy shit this anime is soo badass That opening is probably going to be one of the best for the summer anime I finally realized why that Worick guy sounded very familiar, he has the same voice actor as aomine |

| Loved both the OP/ED and the episode overall gave me a major Black Lagoon vibe which is only but a good thing to me. The only downside to it that I can think of is being only 12 episodes long. Manglobe surely delivered on the first episode and I think they won't let up with this quality until the end. |
| I have been watching an anime for 7 years and still skip OP or ED or maybe watch it but still don't get interested, and then when i see people who drop an entire anime because they didn't like the OP or ED, it makes me wonder if i am the one lacking something. Either way, this was an epic episode and i am looking forward to every episode. 5/5 |

| Really good first episode. The OP is really good! Really liked the overall feeling of this anime, it's a nice break from all the school ones. I thought Nicolas was mute at first, but apparently he is only deaf. Since he can somewhat talk... |

| Holy crap! Nicolas was so badass! Lip-reading, Goon-slicing, Car-kicking, One-Man-Army! Loved it when he started speaking at the end as well. Worick was quite the smooth operator as well, but Nicolas really outshone him here. Love the Godfather-esque feel to it, though Nicolas with his Katana really stick out like a sore thumb (in a good way mind you). Wondering if they're going to claim more "loot" like Alex and put them to work in their office. This show clearly has potential. |

| Pretty cool first episode. I haven't read the manga, but this episode sets up the tone nicely, introduces the characters well, and had some good action moments too. I'm not incredibly "wowed" by it yet, but I'd say the standout part of it thus far would be the characters. It'll be interesting to see how they develop as the show goes on. As for the OP and ED, both of them had cool visuals. The OP song is far too dubsteppy for my taste, though... and if you ask me it contrasts with the tone of the whole show. The ED song wasn't bad, but mostly forgettable. |
