Some also use some tool like Visual novel reader to get a basic grasp of what they are reading.
Don't use it. Trust me. DON'T. The engrish and silliness that tool can provide is fearsome.

You make it seem like people absolutely have to play translated VNs, and playing it in Japanese isn't an option. A lot of people knows more than 1 language.

This episode was sad as hell...cried more tears for Asako than I did for Danny's death, where I barely shed a tear--something they never even mentioned again after only saying it was from an "accident."

It's a good thing Yuuji left the cottage, since if he stayed, he may have started developing suicidal tendencies due to a new huge void in his life. If it weren't for that goal of saving 5 people didn't exist, Yuuji would have surely followed the former route. But if Yuuji ends up saving the lives of our 5 heroines, he better become a "full" man, instead of "half of a man" and raise that number to a minimum of 10. A part of me still wants him to revisit the cottage again for any reason, to use as a hideout, safe house, or something.

The "short" friendship between the two orphan girls ended up lasting literally a lifetime.

"Julia, I love you"
"Are you drunk?"
Shots fired.

Dude...the music box, the subliminal whispers...this is straight up Oslo's alley of methods. Is he pulling the strings behind CIRS!? Or so I thought, until I saw "Ethan Glow" in Yuuji's cross-hairs, and ended up triggering his PTSD again. And wtf was up with that news broadcast? Did Oslo get to Yuuji before CIRS could retrieve him? Or it could be that they framed him, so that Yuuji would have no choice but to return to Oslo.

This is some real shit...no matter how badass Yuuji is, all of his countless flaws, trials, and tribulations--make him a really likeable human character. Unfortunately the same can't be said for some anime protagonists, like in Mahouka. Speaking of keeping it real, I noticed that this entire series could be done in live-action (though may not be as entertaining), because everything is grounded in solid reality. Even Asako's cause of death was something incredibly plausible given her line of work, instead of the usual trope of "died of unknown incurable illness" bullshit that other many anime titles gives us.

Amazing episode !! The feels in the first half, Asako's death was very sentimental and was executed very well~ Sad for JB as well..and lol@JB texting back to Yuuji saying if he is drunk lmao, was hilarious!

Ost was superb this episode and really helped bring out the emotions in the first half, Yuuji's journey, as well as the tension in the second half near the ending. Can't wait for the next episode, and Yuuji's breakdown near the end was very well depicted.

With Asako gone, it seems that both Yuuji and JB are hanging and moving on. Then Yuuji moves to Mihama Academy after that calming down trip.
The ghost of the past returns. He just can't escape the intense and traumatic events that happened with him. I guess that unknown person intended to change the name of the targeted Heath Oslo to let Yuuji kill him once and for all. What an unfortunate failed attempt.
Finally back to the main event next episode.

Holy crap, this episode. Asako's death really tugged at my heart strings, as did Takahiro Sakurai's voice acting.

I have a feeling I know who's voice that was at the end. And since Yuuji saved the girls in Kaijitsu, is it their turn to save him? I'm very excited right now about this!

Yeah, I am kinda aware of that because I am one of those people, but I'm surprised by the number of people who can actually read Japanese, since it isn't one hell of a popular language for people to be fluent in, and visual novels aren't exactly an easy read either.

The first half of this episode was really emotional. Asako's passing was a quiet and gentle one. She was able to speak with Yuuji one last time before dying but it was still really sad. Asako meant so much to Yuuji as a mother figure and mentor; she was pretty much his reason to live. Now it makes sense why Yuuji ended up enrolling at the school because he barely experienced a normal 'youth'.

Yuuji's past arc is finally over and it's back to the present. My jaw dropped when I saw Oslo returning. Man, that gave me chills. Yuuji panicked so hard and he's been compromised. He's been exposed on TV too. Darn, this cliffhanger ending. x_x

Great episode though! Grisaia no Rakuen keeps getting better and better.

I somwehow think Asako found a way to fool JB and leave instructions for Yuuji to be the one to face Oslo. First because Asako wanted Yuuji to grow up and get over his past, and second because Yuuji is probably the one who knows most about Oslo's way of thinking.

I kinda get what were Yuuji's feels when he sees Oslo. The anime could also be more dramatic about it and show a brief flash of his past, like how they were first introduced, Kazuki's disappearance, his mother's death, his internment, his first cold kill, Heath Oslo's line when he killed that man in Oslo's desk...

Holy shit who knew Yuuji was capable of tears, and other emotions lol

This guy is a king at getting pussy yo

New found appreciation for Yuuji, honestly I hated him so much the first season but after the greatness of this season he's becoming a favorite. His self seeking adventure this episode was awesome.

I would possibly go as far as saying this might be the best of the season.
Though it looks like we are back to the present time now sadly, guess the awesomeness couldnt last forever. Probably going to return to the whore 5 soon too.

I'll probably end up mentioning it every episode but that ending song is still fucking amazing

And so sets the stage for the true Rakuen.

"Julia I love you"
"Are you drunk?"
Sounds legit.....

Asako's death was sad as heck, and as for why the girls didn't react to Yuuji sleeping with her or JB, I don't think he would put all of that in his report that explicitly. Nah, more likely they were actual scenes of what happened in his past, and his chats with Asako and JB about sleeping with them would only be in the report as "Had a conversation with JB" or something like that. His monologues are accompanied by his flashbacks, but the girls don't get to see those, they only get to read words from a report, and I doubt that report will be that graphic, it's for the military after all. For all the girls know, nothing ever happened to Yuuji's chastity.

I'm so glad that they showed Thanatos at the end, though since I haven't read through Rakuen, I'm not sure I understand the reason why "she" would order Yuuji to make that asssassination attempt, unless she was working under Heath.... a fact that makes no sense at the moment. Still, Heath was badass, Using the leak from Div 1 to set Yuuji up.

Still I can't wait to see

Asako's death follows a long line of anime "kill the most interesting female" in the series......like Ryoko and Kana in Parasyte. She will be missed.

Yuuji's predicament at the episode end reminds me of a line from Truckin' by the Grateful Dead......"set up like a bowling pin".

Another outstanding episode. I've never seen Yuuji even remotely close to the state he was when Asako was dying, I guess he does reveal his feelings only in certain situations. The respect and love he has for her really are unrivaled by any other girl. Figures JB would take him away from the memory-haunted cabin, and that they'd sleep together. Yuuji's trip was so random, I wonder what it's like to just go somewhere unknown for the hell of it.

Heath Oslo is back, and it seems this was all staged. I understand that the shock value of him returning was too much for Yuuji, but when you think he could have easily ended it right there...

I really wish I wasn't spoiled who that voice at the end was.

Hah, I thought they were skipping the JB loli segment when the first ep aired. I'm glad that they didn't because as what we've seen, it's goddamn emotional.

That ends the Meiykuu adaptation. It wasn't a masterpiece adaptation but it did surpass my expectations by a mile thanks to that horrible S1. I really want to complain that that cliffhanger was subpar to the novels, but oh well, we can't always expect a 1:1 adaptation as what we've been shown so far over the years.

Now, it's time for the sci-fi shit. Good luck everyone.

Damn, that was just fucking sad.

I mean, we knew Asako's death was coming at some point. But it was just so damn sad seeing the normally stoic Yuuji just completely and utterly break down. Him talking with her and trying to rationalize why everything is taken away from him and once again he couldn't stop it.

Then the JB scene too, that was kicking the man while he's down.

Yuuji moves in with JB, and not surprisingly, fucks her immediately too. Then again...why wouldn't you? It's fucking JB best girl!

Yuuji will touch twintail's butt when they're alone...huehue

He couldn't pull the trigger on Oslo, and now he seems to be involved (or framed) with some terrorist attack.

That voice on the phone....sooooon.

I don't think the cliffhanger could possibly have been as good unless Meikyuu and Rakuen had been separated by different anime series altogether. Gotta have that "finale" feel rather than just "next week" so to speak

Asako death was full of drama, but Yuuji still stayed strong and as expected Yuuji also lived with JB and of course had casual (again) sex with her.
all 5 girls of Mihama Academy already know the full history of Kazami Yuuji both secrets and truth about him.
Next episode will be the start of the next Arc!

Fuck, I must admit, a few tears have run down my cheeks when Yuuji started crying on Asako deathbed.
R.I.P. Asako, you were a great master. Your friends (with benefit) will miss you.

Kinda a weird mission to give specifically to him, since they know his past and not only that, they played that song in his earpiece. That's so fishy, there is something behind it. Oslo knew Kazumi was going to be there, it's even like he predicted it when he left his mansion, years ago. And now Yuuji is suspected in a terrorist attack? Maybe he's unwillingly a sleeping agent? Like a trigger can make him switch side? I don't know, I may be overthinking it.

In the end, things got crazy. I feel like the girls will get in actions. You know, they have : a knife-wielding crazy girl, a cannibalist event survivor, a marine, a girl with split personality and a bomb maker. That's one hell of a team.

Isn't that the guy who took Yuuji in when he was little?

Asako's death was quite sad, but at least Yuuji didn't take it too hard. He has JB to support him physically and emotionally. Sleeping together was not a surprise, although I am curious if JB has the same thrive for action with Yuuji as Asako did.

Moving on to the girls, kind of let down about their reaction. I expected a much more worry some reaction rather than saying, "Yuuji", "Papa". I lol'd when the girls were told to change the channel, sort of stale on the reactions.

After credits scene, weird voice. It looked like maybe it was that short girl who was talking to JB earlier in the episode. The one who asked Yuuji to slap her butt. I'm probably wrong but it's just a guess.

Best episode so far!

You know, when reading the Kajitsu I was kinda thinking Asako died in action but seeing her like this was very sad. Whole parting scene was great.
Not to mention his relationship with J.B. afterwards. They really did portrayed those characters well, pretty good job to make viewers care so much for them.

And Heath Oslo is back... Yuuji being compromised. We also got to hear the Professor (his identity is kinda obvious though). Now it sure starts being messy, goodbye school.
But I kinda expected he would be unable to kill him. Because while Asako raised him, Oslo made him into man he's now.
