Sort of emotional ending but then again I've been feeling emotional all day so that could be it, the ending did feel a tab bit forced, couldn't really feel for Decim even thought I liked him. Regardless one of my more favorite series this time around...6-7/10, well off to Death Billiards.

That's not a bad ending. We got enough answers, I guess.

The anime was pretty decent and had a good idea. Some of the episodes were pretty nicely thought-out. The production was really good most of the time.

Nicely done for an original anime.

EPIC! Truly Epic episode 12 of Death Parade.
Quindecim tries to smile...it was forced...and to the end, he can truly smile.
That was a good ride 10/10.

That was fantastic, just too bad that it didn't proceed further. . well, maybe some ova or second season or something I don't know.

The art, animation, and soundtracks were incredible. Even with all the discussion, it did not feel slow or boring at all.

That was brilliant! After such an emotional scene is very nice that it ended with Decim's smile and with the OP ^ ^

Art: fantastic, OST: perfect, characters: great. It did a great job testing your morality. You just can't help about thinking what is good and what is not. And the dialogue was captivating.

Totally love it! I don't think a 2nd season will be a good idea but an OVA showing a day off or something like that would be nice.

A dramatic yet very lovely ending I must say! Really liked how this show progressed so well and how the characters were involved with everything! I had high hopes with Death Billiards to become a full length series and with this it sure proved that they could do it!

All in all 9/10

I really liked the concept and ideas they played with, but yeah I think I expected deeper content I suppose. I'll still give it a 8.5/10 but like OP, I prefer billiards too.

This ep hit me right in the feels. It's been quite awhile since an anime series made me cry like a baby. Awesome yet heartbreaking ending. Dat smile though Decim, and it seems like he missed Chiyaki even after sending her off. :')

9/10. Every ep kept me entertained.

I'm actually expecting some action packed scenes between Oculus and Nona. Decim was finally able to judge Chiyuki. But I actually want more?

This anime made me to think about my own life a bit.
This was awesome, the story was really unique, design, ost and animation were neat. And this episode was a total tearjerker. A good finale.

Most overhyped and an biggest overall disappointment. Only thing positive was the animation tbh. The characters fell flat and the presentation left a lot to be desired.

I don't even know if the 5/10 and such people have been giving this is justified. Only thing I really take away from the series is that in this kind of situation, human emotions are just a nuisance to the judge and that most people objectively belong in Hell/Void based upon their actions.

While there was a nice ending with Chiyuki, the bigger questions about the arbiter system were never really answered. The old man is creepy as fuck though.

I like how the cat doesn't come to Ginti anymore. Serves him right.

Good end. Death Billiards was amazing as stand alone. I was so impressed before. And, I was even ecstatic when I learned that Madhouse turned the project to TV series. The TV, however, while the story started good, it weakened in the middle. I'm okay if there will be S2 but not that ecstatic anymore. Overall 7/10 from 9/10 from first episode.

what's up with people and saying that Death Billiards is better? And THIS was POORLY WRITTEN? Like, what the heck have you guys been watching?

One of my personal favorites. Decim's smile at the end was really touching and seeing the puppet of Chiyuki was so heart warming :)

I definitely thought it finished well but I agree that for an arbiter with emotions they really made decim the only one without emotions. Of course you could look at it in terms of character development but overall that shift in the focus and plot dampened my enjoyment of this series as a whole. Showing the raw human emotion exposed and the questions it posed were interesting.

I thought shit about to go down when Oculus knew what's going on with Decim and his emotion, but he didn't do anything "yet". So Chiyuki will be reincarnated by the looks of it, and Decim made a puppet version of Chiyuki to accompany him, that's kinda sad and sweet at the same time

Overall score 9/10, will be missed ♥, i wouldn't mind for a 2nd season

Wow! For something like this, it turned out very good.

Truly there is some understanding of humans at work here as well as morality being put into questioning (and of course Japanese values incorporated). I feel like if they took some time to develop Death Parade more, it would turn out to be spectacular!

The ending is indeed kind of trolllollol but it was good in a way. Would like to see a second season but I don't think it'll turn out well because of the way the 1st season finished. Maybe if they did a different take on it it would be nice to watch.

Didn't expect much from this show as I didn't like Death Billiard, but at least that helped me not get disappointed by how average it was. I guess Decim and Chiyuki's story was interesting, and the comedy was gold, but every other side character (Nona, Quin, Ginti, old guy, elevator guy) felt like they were just there to be there. Nona was only there for Decim's development, and she barely got any development at all. I guess it could have been a bit better if it was 2-cour and every character got some episodes. Other than that, the best episodes were the judgment episodes. Everything in-between was kinda mediocre, with episode 2 and 5 being pretty bad.

I'd give it a 5/10, but the OP alone deserves one extra point, so 6/10.

The overarching plot with Decim, Chiyuki, Nona and whoever else was disappointing. I found to episodic stories with the guests to be much more fascinating. Lifelike characters expressing raw human nature/emotion in way Madhouse could only animate. The transitions into the ED was amazing for those episodes. Overall, flawed but still better than most.

To be honest i didn't find the show as amazing as many people here. The characters never really make me feel much for them. They all seemed so distant for some reason. I found myself feeling a lot more for the human characters being judged that appeared on only 1 or 2 episodes actually.

Second they tried to put a more wholesome plot other that the episodic lives of secondary characters but that plot let to nowhere really and hardly felt like it gave any meaning to the show.

Surprised to hear that people felt so disconnected from the characters. While I think this was intentional for the supporting cast, I felt for Decim and Chiyuki the whole way through. Episode 11 especially, with Chiyuki's backstory and the skating bit, I thought was one of the most beautiful and poignant sequences in any anime I've seen thus far (and I've seen a lot).

I'd give it 9/10, I do think there was still a bit of unfulfilled potential overall. Hopefully we'll see a second season and Death Parade can further refine its formula.

Finally made the time to watch the last two episodes. Both were pretty amazing.

I already saw screenshots of Decim crying and smiling but goddamn, it was so powerful when I saw it animated. Wow. I'm actually really sad that Chiyuki and Decim had to part in the end just when he finally gained emotions. Would make a great AU story.

Excellent series overall. I'll give it a solid 8/10. It would be a 9 but I found not all of the episodes consistently "masterful". Some episodes were legit 10/10 worthy like the last one or some near the beginning but the main story episodes I found a bit weaker and dull almost to the point where I wish I could have skipped them. I found the episodic cases in the beginning much more interesting. I think the show could be better if it had started off weaker and then grew into something huge which would make a bigger impact at the end, just like another episodic-gone-serious show "Miracle Train" which pulled it off very well.

The music, art, animation and similar factors were done extremely well. Based Madhouse.

It was a very touching episode. I, for one, hope that there won't be a second season though; it just won't feel the same without Chiyuki. The dynamic between her and Decim is really what makes this show great.

Decim's crying really got to me though, especially when he learned how crippling sorrow can be, but he also learned to smile. Nonna took a risk and it looks like it paid off. I've been watching the dub, and Alex Organ does a superb job truly. He's quickly becoming one of my top favourite voice actors.
