It was a nice episode. Very nice. Young Asuna is cute.

5/5 for this episode. I wonder what the finale will bring.

Was fun how Yuuki was interacting with her classmates at school. Its good that she can be able to live that experience.

And I didn't expect that Asuna's mother go into a virtual world.

I liked the overall feel of the episode.

I can't believe there's only one episode left. Wondering how long I'd have to wait for Alicization.

For some reason I highly doubt that they're gonna end this season on a cliffhanger.
Cliffhangers are for when you know the next season is coming out real soon, like "3 or 6 months-time" soon. We all know how long it takes for the studios to develop this series, and with all the stuff coming out in the coming half year, I really have my doubts that they would set up a cliffhanger for a show that they probably won't come back to (be it time constraints or money) for at least a year or two. Just don't see it happening.

Also, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but

My parents fall under that niche who think anime watchers are weird lol. They kinda think the same for video games but not so much since it's a pretty big thing nowadays. Parents just don't understand.

If I ever got my parents to watch anime they would probably think I became a sociopath with pedo tendencies and lose all hope for what they made.

Wtf was asuna serious when she told yuuki to find someone to marry who would protect her house? Bc there are soo many things wrong with that...

But I'll admit, that scene when her mom was crying was done pretty well

Asuna's mother was definitely harsh about her daughter's use of VR, and it was a challenge for Asuna to show her mother the value of the virtual world. We all know, whether someone spoils or not, that Asuna's mom would eventually accept it. But I always say it's the journey to a resolution that counts -- not the destination in itself.

In this case, Asuna's mom needed to unwind from being such a prestigious scholar (from my assumptions). And I believe the feelings used to compose the resolution made the sub story worth following. And so, Asuna can continue to go to the school for the victims of the Aincrad incident.

Yuuki played her role in this episode as a tear-jerking character (as she did the last episode). Don't get me wrong; that's not a bad thing. I think her purpose is to provide emotional support for Asuna, even though Yuuki's unfortunate fate is an obstacle in this arc revolving Asuna.

I really enjoyed how not only Kazuto got a detailed story but his romantic interest(?), as well.

The final episode for II is going to be promising. I can't wait to see what they have for the conclusion of this season.

Dem feels. Yuuki, Asuna and formerly super bitchy mom all sharing dem moments together. And you could tell Yuuki was dead serious about marrying Asuna. She's a closet lesbian for sure.

Boring episode overall. Don't give a shit about Yuuki so half the episode was a waste for me. Asuna's relationship with her mum was fixed by the stupidest shit as well. Didn't Asuna's mum want a plan laid out? All Asuna did was talk bullshit and her mum was happy. Ah well, it's SAO. It's to be expected.

I think both Asuna and her mom are at fault that their relationship is like it is. Given that her mom is an adult she automatically bears more responsibility though. And she never even tried to understand Asuna from what we've seen. She was just "you have to do things the way i did".

Now that she realizes her own parents weren't like this and cared about her as a person, and not just as pension, together with the overall nostalgia and Asuna toughening up she accepted that there might be multiple ways through life.

And it's not like she was "fine, do whatever you want". Asuna has to get better grades or her mom will still insist on changing school. And she expects Asuna to go to university afterwards. Which is probably fine with Asuna, she never protested against that.

Also, her mother is/was controlling. Not a "tiger" mom, but controlling. She expects Asuna to be there for dinner on the spot, or early, despite her dealing with other people who have their own schedule. heck, Asuna's mom couldn't even make it to visit the graves, and she fusses over Asuna not being there for dinner. And when they have dinner, they just eat silently, and her mom leaves when she is done.

And she told Asuna she would take the VR gear away if she is late again, too. While at the same time, she just sits at the computer in her room, or probably even her study, given how small it seemed etc. Instead of reading a book in the living room where she is "accessable" etc. Basically, she did the exact same thing as her daugther. Hide in her room, spend all time at the computer. Even assuming s he was working..thats actually even worse. Either she spends the whole day there, or she goes working and continues at home in that case. So she doesn't even have a private life or what?

One way or the other, Asuna's mom is not exactly in a position to claim moral superiority her.

As i said, both did things wrong. Asuna's mom only saw her own way and didn't accept other possibilities, while Asuna herself wasn't sure which way she wants, leaving her without good arguments to why things do not have to be the way her mom thinks.

Anyways, the made up, as far as possible for now.

And Yuuki..well, Yuuki Yuuki would certainly be interesting. Not that it looks like she will make it to her 16th birthday from her comments.

Not even going to read why people loved this show. It was a trainwreck and the plot went NOWHERE. I thought "maybe the show will revolve around putting down the laughing coffin nerds.." nope. More love love love love love story bull. What a waste of potential. Or maybe i'm just tired of anime. All of it looks the same, sounds the same and ends the same. SAO II somehow managed to change that and mixed in all the cliches at once and just ruined my view that anime could be somewhat decent. Nope. There are only a few animes that I actually really liked and hardly any that I kind of liked. Evangelion DBZ and Death Note.. pretty much the only anime shows that are really any good.. Hell, even mainstream cash cows like Naruto and Bleach are in there decent categories while anything new is just trash. gg anime

I’m glad Asuna showed her around the school and took her to the place she used to live in, being in a hospital for so long must have been so boring; I can’t stand it for more than an hour. Finally Asuna and her mother talked it out and everything is going well. It was kind of slow but not that bad of an episode.

And with that, Asuna's mom joins the harem.

I thought that they would make taking Yuuki to school a bigger emotional deal, but it was still very sweet. It's actually refreshing that this arc seems to be ending on a quieter note. The two Yuuki's interactions have been heartwarming and I now wonder how "Mother's Rosario" plays into this.

Cool, people will be living as robots soon ^^. Where VRMMO games meet reality is where this show is heading. No longer an adventure Shounen romance.

Attached to a robot? What about your boyfriend Asuna?
Mother/daughter scene best part of the episode.
Too bad we didn't get to see Asuna's grades. I mean if she can raise them, that means that Asuna doesn't have Straight A+ yet.
3/5 alright.

Another tear inducing episode, at the part near the end when Asuna is talking with her mother and just looking out the window at the winter scenery. I'm a sucker for touching family scenes, and this is one of those. I'm glad Asuna was able to talk it out with her mother, and that her mother was able to understand, even though she was so unwilling to listen before (or she was just stubborn). It was also really nice to see Yuuki being able to go to school with Asuna, teared up when Asuna was imagining Yuuki standing in the classroom and reading the passage...if only that could happen. I think it's a happy and sad thing; it's happy because of course Yuuki can get to experience a lot of what she has been missing the past three years, but at the same time, I think she gets constantly reminded that she can't walk around like that ever again and that she will be stuck looking out through a lens until her time comes.

Somehow, in comparison with this, Phantom's bullet arc was just child play. Too bad they had to add those middle crappy episodes. SAO is the best when it's dealing with VR vs. real life and this episode was best example of it. There are people who don't appreciate it as they are either too cynical or don't have anything to resonate with this theme but that's just fine.
