Well, the fight has been portrayed pretty good. I think it could be a bit faster IMHO. The announcer is pretty much still non-existant to me but I think the music in this episode worked well within the tension of how this round worked and I thought it was pretty funny.
But I think the impact sounds were really lacking or maybe it was the quality of my TV. But I feel that needs stronger sounds.
I think the song used while Aoki is blocking reminds me of the song Snake goes through in the microwave rom in Metal Gear Solid 4.
I haven't read this part of the manga in awhile, but I think where it skips is appropriately skipped.
And it seems that Shinoda has the same voice actor but his voice sounds very rough comapred to the previous seasons.
I hope they get into how Aoki developed his look away which is a really funny story in itself
But it is sad that the look away only works once in the games.
INTENSE! It really feels like we're back to the Ippo I enjoy most; the original series, not dull NC. The music, pace, action, interesting matches, it's all perfect right now. That poor bastard Imae, falling for the move twice even lol
Anmoly97 said: I feel like the old commentator was better but IDK, I just don't like the voice acting for the commentator...
I didn't like the change at first either, but it really doesn't bother me anymore .-. He still makes a great commentator
What an intense episode! The OST was very good and it fit with fight very well, how they handled the fight, the pace, everything reminded of the original. Aoki is one crazy mofo though, his fighting style is like a funnier and and weirder version of Brian Hawk's. Changed my opinion about him completely. Imae is not looking so confident anymore huh. Can't wait for the next episode.
This episode was so epic I don't even know what to say
Despite everything Aoki is fighting well, but I don't think the champ will surrender so easily. Can't wait for the next episode, why the hell there is no preview?
Oh also amazing OST, Yoshihisha Hirano at his best
What a hilarious episode! xD
The first time he tried his new move I LOL'd!
But the second time, I LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL'd!
Aoki is so entertaining! xD
Well. First things first, an awesome adaptation here. Just 1 thing to criticize is pacing, which is kinda slower, but not a big deal actually. I enjoyed the fight a lot. Aoki being Aoki again :D Imae needs to learn his lessons, and he got a good match-up for that. I think next episode first half will be more than enough to cover the remaining parts.
Btw, aren't those musics just wpnderful? I really loved the harmony among the sound and the fight.
Dat fucking OST, oh god I came so bad. I need the album OST right now.
If they use this kind of music with Aoki, I have no idea what they will use with Ippo or Takamura then.
I never took Aoki's boxing career that seriously, but now I see how good he actually is. That didn't stop me from chuckling throughout the whole episode though, and the music is this episode was really great as well.
LMAO..! AOKI !
for a second i thought he was going to do dempsey roll in his wild form XD
his new strategy was freakin gold XD even the crowds fell for it.. even takamura *lol*
5/5
Ahahahahha I laughed my ass off so many times this episode, Aoki is the man !! Why'd Imae fall for the same trick the 2nd time though ! :p He's even like nooooo pls don't :p
Best episode yet... This is too good, I'm loving this series so much.
The most hilarious thing in this episode was obviously the trick (and how Takamura fell for it twice), but even the way Aoki was moving in the first round really made me laugh out loud.
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?
Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...
