| So what I'm thinking is that the Princess has all the right intentions but doesn't have the trust and respect of her army as a general. So they keep doing shit when she clearly doesn't want them to. Killing the grandma might be an act in retaliation for stealing the women back from their capture and also an act to attempt to start war |

| Regardless of weather they kill any of the enemy, the enemy had already declared war by kidnapping their women and using violence in their meeting earlier. Surrendering to the empire wasn't a surprise, that's pretty much what they were already doing. The arrow to the back was even less of a surprise. I'm surprised they lasted as long as they did, what with their spineless leader and everything. Men make better leaders. There are to very foolish extremes: being to eager to go to war, and being to avoidant of going to war. If there is an immediate threat to your safety and your freedom and you choose not to fight then you by default surrender. |

| WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA THAT ENDING. This anime just loves plot twists. How was anyone supposed to expect that creepy shaman to die? Makes me wonder who killed her. For the most part, this episode was pretty boring up until the last scene. Okay episode. I hope the story quits focusing on Aladdin. I hardly give a shit about him and want to learn more about Alibaba and Morgiana. 6.5/10 |

| So Alibaba used all of his fortune to free the slaves, that's really nice of him. Morigiana doesn't seem to have words for this :P So Aladdin learned more about what an magi is. Now it makes definitely more sense as before. He really like that old baba. The Kou princess seems to be very wise, but that one guy who was with of course has to be an total douche.... Of course at the end where you thought everything is okay, something like that must happen to old baba ;_; |

| Maybe I'm overthinking this, but the use of a princess not as a treaty marriage arrangement is unheard of in east asia (soldier clothing is definitely han dynasty). Mongolia, Tibet, China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam didn't adopt this practice. I think using women diplomats were impractical as nations would regard the practice as mocking the seriousness of the diplomacy as well as general sexism of women considered "unmerited" for the role. Purely for artistic reasons they use a fictional princess as the height of insult to spearhead negotiations with the tribe that is a shell of it's former glory. Now we know that is the plains and a two week caravan ride to Alibaba. This suggests that this smack bang around what is now western China and historically the Han dynasty's far western holdings. People should read up on history, this tribe may be inspired by the xiongnu empire. The same empire that repeatedly raided and invaded and bullied the Chinese emperor into paying expensive tribute and forcing princesses to marry to them. Quite the opposite of this sob story depicted, depending on the era of history you choose to focus on. Second, the Chinese were one of the few civilisations that did not deal in slavery as a significant portion of their economy. Confucius was disgusted with this practice and off course China has abundant human power at their disposal. In fact, several times in history, emperors outright banned the practice, though that is not to say some merchants still dealt in illicit dealings with rich owners for slaves along the silk road. Ironically it would be the ancestors of this 'peaceful' little innocent village that went around bullying countries into paying tribute and raiding their lands for slaves on the silk road and for their own uses. The Chinese finally got fed up and financed expensive expeditions into their territory with no financial gain (the very opposite of what sun tzu would suggest) just to overthrow this system and perhaps strengthen their border security from eventual annexation. This shows the aftermath of the collapse of the xiongnu empire and their retreat where they will pop up on Rome's borders as the hun scourge. |

| Ehh, I'll give this show one more episode before it gets dropped. I've never read the manga, but even I can tell the pacing is absolutely horrendous. It literally feels as if the series is on speed or something, especially with this episode. It's as if the characters and plot introduced here were literally just skimmed through as if I was reading a wikipedia article animated. No time to get attached to anything that's happening, and the world building is insanely confusing due to the fast pace. |

| the end actually didn't that surprised me lol, the minute that granny walked away from the fire i saw a death flag on her. the thing is, i thought that this would continue, i didn't thought that it was already 20min lol. the pace may be fast, but the direction is pretty darn good. funny though how alladin were thrown in a village right before some political issue coming there. but the way it seems, it might be deliberated, because he suppose to control peace and such that the rukh took it there. |
