| Thought it would take a turn for the melodramatic, it didn't. Enjoyable episode, and it's really developing at a surprisingly fast rate. And an actual English speaker, that's rare. |

| Ohhh ri-chan and richies first kiss sigh althought it wasnt as we hoped. I just love that no matter what Sentaro is a great friend that even when richie gets upsets he always come to get him and patch things up. Awww i feel so bad for sentaro's past... it made me cry too like Richie did. See, some times things are what they appear in some ones life by just a glance. Loved the " but not for me" song it was soo good and Jun was great at singing in english. I still dont know if i like Yurika since she is still new but yeah she seems to be going for Jun but poor Sentaro his totally in love with her... will things get more complicated? sigh. Just keep loving this anime.... i want more more. |

In the end she cried and ran off, but of well at least he tried with no regrets. After Jun's performance, Yurika instantly fell for him. Seems the girls are only interested in the alpha males in the series, which sucks for Richie I was pulling for him too. Felt bad for Sentaro's back story, but I don't feel bad for him romance wise... he's got a great girl like Ri-chan waiting for him, but hasn't realized it yet. |

| Did he just steal her first kiss? Did he?? Usually I am against forced kisses. But I like those two so much that I don't have any objection. But somehow I feel Ritsuko will end up with Sentarou. I feel sorry for Sentarou though. Seems like his infatuation has found someone else, and I cannot see why not, because Jun manifests a complete lady killer. |

| That gym class scene was hillarious, especially Sentaro chasing Kaoru around. xD I don't know if I like Kaoru or not. Everything he's doing seems really forced. He kissed her out of the blue, and of course she ran off crying. (Hope we'll get some insight on that reaction next time). Then Sentaro showed up, made 1 (rude) comment, then Kaoru blew his lid about his past. Sentaro opening up after that felt more natural, but Kaoru's actions all seemed awkward and forced. I don't know. Even though the episodes have a good pace, Kaoru's moving too fast for me. Everything having to do with Yurika feels pretty predictable. We knew he was just modeling for her. (But that was funny, "Look at the twig lovingly!", then his face, lol). We also figured she'd fall for Jun when she met him. (But hey, who wouldn't?) That jazz session was amazing! Loved it even when he was just slamming on the keys. Too bad that drunk had to spoil it. One thing I will note, however, and I am so happy they did this: the American actually spoke in English! :0 Whenever I hear a character who speaks English in anime, not just random phrases, it's always in Japanese (minus TK). But the drunk spoke English. And not Engrish, English. That was awesome! Speaking of which, Lord, Jun's voice, what a sexy singing voice! <3 |

| Beautiful episode. I didn't hate that Kaoru kissed Ritsuko but found it actually rather cute even if it felt a bit rushed. As much as I would like to see them ending up together, I have a feeling Ritsuko might end up with Sentaro. I just get this feeling. |
| I read the manga to see what would happen next.... Hopefully it gets animated. It would be awesome if they get to animate the part where Richie goes looking for his mom :) if anyone wants to find out what happens next. i think its Chapter 11 or 12 if anyone wants to pick it up from there Mod Edit: No links to copyrighted material. |

| Wow this anime just keeps getting better. This ep had everything; drama, music, character development. Jeez. And the english speakers actually spoke english and not engrish? Impressive. Nice added touch with the drunk also. Makes this anime that much more authentic. Also, Yurika showing interest in Jun? Ho-ho-ho it's getting even more interesting! Not to mention it looks like Kaoru stole Ritsu's first kiss. It's not often that the guy moves quick like Kaoru lol. Love the pace of their relationship. Man, what an anime so far. |

| Kissing is kinda considered foreplay in Japan. That's why it's not that common in anime. It's harder to see people kissing in Japan than in the West. And remember, those guys greet without touching each other. Physical contact is more of a big deal there than in most places. Didn't like Kaoru's outburst. He seemed to be a very mature character and that was very childish. Still think they should make Jun fall in love with Kaoru's cousin who should fall in love with Kaoru. |
| Aside from that forced kiss, this episode was excellent. Suwabe-san was definitely suave right there. |

| This series is skewing my opinion of all the other shows that I'm watching this season. It's almost unfair because no other show or series ever seems quite as good in the 24 hours after I finish watching an episode of SNA. |

| I dislike both their family backstories for being too black&white. Just like the "my puppy died" kind of stories that tries to make sure every single viewer feels sad about it. Yeah they both had bad childhoods but it takes less to turn into a introverted loner or delinquient, so there was no need to push the drama button all the way down. The blood scene had me laughing out loud for its ridiculousness. And it goes on with Kaoru suddenly venting all his anger towards Sentarou. I don't know how it builds up in the manga but at that point in the anime this wasn't developed enough to make it look like anything other than contrived drama. Hopefully the show keeps going with the straight-forward drama-less approach from the previous episodes and we see Ritsu's feelings resolved shortly instead of lingering until the end. |

| yet another revelation of an episode - this show is exactly what great anime is all about - left me in tears several times and lots of laughter as well - "life is like jazz"...we fall in love with the one who does not love us back but find a great friend in the process...also, music is perfect for this - total homerun of a show! |

| So in 4 epis we got "Kaoru -> Ritsuko -> Sentarou -> Yurika -> Jun" Let's see what we will get in the rest of the epis xD It all seems to be a train now xD Also yes, good english in this epi! Was kinda surprised, gotta confess! Though June was better at singing english than speaking english xD |

| I didn't like the kiss -_- I get it, Kaoru really likes Ritsuko but when he started to scream to Sentarou it pissed me off. I mean, if you're gonna forced kiss a girl at least do it entirely for yourself and not because you're jealous of someone else. He wasn't thinking at all in Ritsuko's feelings. In the other hand every episode is enjoyable and I'm liking this series even more now. I loved Jun haha and yeah he's got the looks of a ladykiller. Now I don't know what to think about the romactic feelings everyone has 'cause is getting more complicated. |

Better than most yes, but you're going to make me go back and listen for a native English speaker, I didn't hear any. That was the only thing wrong with this episode but it didn't matter much because the rest of the episode was great. But the singing just didn't sound like it did in my head while reading the manga. But hey, he's not a native English speaker so I guess I should have heard a Japanese person singing an English Jazz song. The anime had it right, my brain was in the wrong for expecting more. :) Improvisation on the part of direction? Yes! I love it when directors actually take things into there own hands and mix things up. I was worried last episode, but now I understand why. This episode was great. It touched on all the right elements from the manga and threw in and unexpected kiss. Loved it. I have hope for this show again. |

| Another episode that didn't fail expectations. Sure, I like shows with unrequited love but what the heck... a pentagon?! I bet my heart's gonna break in a few episodes. Awesome and cool jazzy episode. |

| That last scene broke my heart for Sentarou, I can't deny Jun is quite a catch and amazing, but when Sentarou finds outs there's going to be tears... I couldn't believe Kaoru kissed her, and I can understand why she cried, but at least he's trying to fight for her, which is admirable to see. Also Jun's singing was AMAZING! Me like : ) Like someone else said, I hope there's someone for Sentarou who comes in later, cause I want Ritsuko for Kaoru, and that will not change. |

| Pleasantly surprised with this episode, completely reversing my opinion of the series from the start. If every episode is as heart-impacting and gut-wrenching as this, I can easily see it as the top of the season, perhaps even among my favorites. Eagerly waiting to see what next week brings and what the coming weeks will bring. I never should have doubted Watanabe, even if this isn't an original work by him. Hope the fast relationship action will keep my heart pounding, though tentatively not to melodramatic levels. |

| I loved this episode so so much. When Kaoru said those things to Sentaro, I wanted to cry from just seeing Sentaro's blank expression. I truly love the character of Sentaro, along with the other characters as well. They are portrayed very well in a realistic manner. And can't forget the amazing performance by Jun. I can see why Yurika was captivated by him from that moment. |
