This'll be my first time discussing this, really...
Kujo is a little boring and typical - kind of reminds me of Hayate from Hayate no Gotoku! - but he's innocent, cute, and interesting enough. The girl-that-looks-like-a-doll Victorique is cliche, your usual tsundere, but she doesn't fail to make me laugh, unlike so many of the stupid doll-like characters I've known. The mystery is, yes, predictable itself - you could tell right away that the women in the red dress was the one who wasn't innocent, just by the fact that she was your usual hopeless-looking, somewhat indignant dame, used so much in the detective-type stores - but there were some interesting facts and tricks that I didn't even catch onto. Overall, this show is good. I love how it cracks me up in the middle of what's suppose to be horror-and-gore =:). It has been a while since I've enjoyed an anime.

Serious plot holes in this episode. I mean cmon you spent your fortune on reuilding a frickn boat that you were on before (not to mention almost died on it) just to invite 11 other people and have them killed? If Ned was the hunting dog all along, why would he play the victim at first and later claim he is the hunting dog? Why the hell did Julie not narrow the suspects down to blonde haired males instead if she wanted revenge (the exception would be Maurice)? Seriously she killed 7 people.

Why would Ned board the ship and act ad the hunting dog when he's the frigging victim with no one ordering him around to stir confusion with the hares? How'd he know that a tennis ball placed under armpit would stop his pulse? Did he plan it? On second thought, I think it showed him being the same person as the one ten years ago doing the same tennis ball trick. If he did then he must have been faking being a victim but if that were true then Julie and him would hav to b working together to arrange such a plan.

you're not watching hard enough my friend.

the only plot hole you can see here should be the expanded explanation unto the recreation of the box. other than that it's all simple. ^^

so Julie recreated the box using the money "they" gave the hares to get revenge. (being killed by the same system you use and with the money you produced)
she sent letters to all those responsible (including Ned), but unexpectedly, Roxane is dead, and Victorica and Kujo takes her place. (that's why Julie is looking out for them because they're not supposed to be there). So basically one died of a trap, 6 escaped ang got eaten by the sea, but before they died, Julie made it clear that this is the box "Queen Berry" with her wall scribbles. So basically we have 2 persons responsible left, Ned who is not stupid enough to throw himself at the raging sea and Maurice who Ned stopped because he's the one Ned is the closest to (based on the flashback)
Maurice told the story of the Queen Berry (with lies of course, but the fact that the Queen Berry have children murdered each other on board is a fact).
Maurice is killed by Julie herself because she lose to insanity with the fact that he's afraid because one of them, Julie and Ned(he couldn't recognized Ned as Huey because of how much he changed as well as Julie) could be the hares that survived and set them up in that replica Queen Berry to get revenge. Well all we have left is Ned, now the fact that the secret of the Queen Berry has been put in mind of the people who are not suppose to know, he resume his acts as a Hunting Dog, to put them to rest and to prevent the secret of the Queen Berry from leaking.
With the use of his act, he tried to take them down surprisingly, but unexpectedly, Victorica found out that it was a trick because of the tennis ball he was playing with
( try it it's real ^^) with that plan failed, he just rampaged through them and the main reason why he's so much focused unto the Victorica is because she have shown intelligence (in episode 2 as well as discovering his trick with the tennis ball) that could crack the real secrets of the Queen Berry and he does not recognized Julie as one of the hares either because she just threw her out in the deck instead of killing her first)
and thus, Julie managed to kill the last person responsible on the deck, Huey. ^^

Guess I will stop my opinion about she being a human incarnation of Shinku( just like Pinokio case)

Anyway, return to Gosick. Pretty much to respect from Kujo. My silly brain keep thinking of romance possibility throughout the episode so far. Now it's getting clear that every of her acts were done intentionally.

Liking it so far, nice to see something decent finally.

Although I must say, all "mysteries" so far were utterly trivial, at least the general outlining. I've thought about the maid the second they showed that fortuneteller was shot sitting right opposite the door and it was pretty much obvious that the green haired lady was leading everyone in to something.

But than again, maybe Deathnote spoiled me. Apart from that, nice to see a male character who does not bleed all the time from unnatural places and not a wimp as a bonus.

Also Vici looks kinda retarded with the water pipe. And she is still Shinku every single moment she keeps her mouth shut.

That's refreshing a main who looks weak but isn't weak, at last.

I'm still a bit confused, so Julie was the culprit so why did she kill Ned? I mean weren't they together in that?

~Or she was trying to get revenge on him too?

Glad someone thinking the same thing~

That's it. Kujo is a wimp, talking about pride being the 3rd son of an imperial soldier and what not really pissed me off. He kinda reminded me of Emiya Shirou from Fate/Stay Night due to their behavior to state obvious things.

Aw, Kujo's awesome.
I was expecting the girl to be the culprit but the guy kinda surprised me.
Um, I know that no one cares about this stuff but some things that bothered me xD
They didn't name all the Allies. They missed 2 (well, 3, but people always ignore Montenegro for some reason)
If they were getting kids to represent each nation involved in WWI, what exactly was up with the Arabic girl?
Why is Victorique wearing those kinds of outfits? It's 1924.. :/
I'm used to historical inaccuracy in anime, but still

I knew it! I guessed it was Julie from the start. And I guessed the maid was the girl from ten years before when Lee gave the necklace to Julie. Hahahahahaha. Even if they are 'criminals' now, I think they are both pretty awesome. The original Queen Berry organizers are idiots. Shame on them.

The mysterious are just starting out but I hope they get much more interesting than haunted ships.

It was interesting to see how Victorique deduced everything, especially the real killer and their motivations.

And I also like the little back-story into Victorique and Grevil. Who'd have thought they were family xD

I like the art and animation so far, they're fitting the theme of the show and I also liked the brawl scene, it was quite amazing and the bruises on Kuujo's face were hilarious.
But I don't like the flow that the relationship between them has, too rushed.
I also didn't like this mistery, it felt unoriginal and unrealistic.
It is true that you can shut the pulse on your wrist by play with a tennis ball? I don't think that's true..
And then how could he be sure that those guys would have not double-checked elsewhere, or simply turn him up? Again, there were too much things that could throw all the plan in the trash, but yet due to plot conveniences it all went magically.
Mm, I hope this will improve on this side.

Victorique is so cute, it's not the Tsundere she wants to make us believe.

I'm a bit late in watching this anime, but I do have a question about this episode's ending. At the very beginning when they all woke up from food drugging, I already suspected Julie and Ned.

And when it really was Ned, I gave myself a pat on the back. ...Only to be trumped by the fact that Julie was the real culprit.

Which brings me to the question: If Julie had staged all of this, how on earth did she convince Ned/Huey to come back to carry out her plot as the Hunting Dog? How did Ned even resume his role as the Hunting Dog, anyway? This is the only part I'm looking for an answer to. : Can some answer this for me?

I normally hate tsundere type characters... but my goodness Victorique is ADORABLE. She's only got some of the elements of the tsundere while retaining features that make her... normal. Like "falling asleep" on Kujo at the end of the episode. A REAL TSUN WOULDN'T DO THAT.

This is an awesome series so far.

Well, it didn't go exactly as I thought but the girl was indeed the culprit. Too much thing was leading to her.

It was funny when Victorique got out of her character when she saw Kujo xD
She had some cute moment :3

It was a nice use of the environment from Kujo when he waited for a direct punch at his face to evade it. Slammed his fist right onto the hard floor :)
That was so smooth at the end too. Careful Kujo, you'll wet the lady (if you could stop talking with an eleven years old voice...).

Although it hasn't bettered the previous episode. Still it was a nice arc. Although it would've been a lot better if they focused in all 12 more. As It was sure that the focus were on the girl and the guy.
Although there was a good twist when the old man went into killing them and telling them about Roxanne story.
The ending of the episode was emotional. Especially when the Roxanne murdered were actually a revenge from the orphans.
It was really emotional when she threw the nicklance to Lee.
Hoping for more of this. I don't know if the next couple of arcs would be as good. Although I would give it a good rating if it kept this good and pacing. I'm hoping for more surely.

OK episode, but still......

If you knew he was faking his pulse, why don't you just call him out or bash him right there before he can try anything instead of running, trapping yourself in a room, waiting for him to catch up to you with an axe? And the lady should have been able to tell easily, having seen him do the exact same thing 10 years prior in the exact same way, and knowing that he survived and that he was from England and about the same age as her, she should have at least theorized that they were the same person. Basically all he did was change his name from Huey to Ned.

How did the guy get out of the room after being barricaded in? He would have to smash the door with enough force to snap the axe which was used to lock the door, yet it was perfectly fine when he returned.
