| Art is an objective concept, just like aesthetic,so it ddepends on the person asked the question. I'd like to think a qualified answer would be yes. The art of animation is not restricted to some characters designs but also tones, storytelling, sound combination ect. If something such as A transparent public toilet is considered art, there's little doubt that a piece like Kaguya hime no monogatari fits that description as well. |

| What is or isn't art can be debated about till the end of time, but you're never going to come to a solid conclusion because art is subjective. I've never really understood why people ask "is this art?", "are video games art?", "is anime art?", etc. It just depends on the person, why even bother discussing it? You might as well be arguing over which colour you think is more worthy of being deemed a colour (and I still know some people that believe white isn't a colour, lol). |
