It's been awhile but seeing this anime back on TV screen again is refreshing. Miyo still looks the same although feels more mature and comfortable around Kiyoka. But right off the bat this season, there's already some drama brewing up among the family.

Loved the chemistry bond between Kiyoka and Miyo. The way the two stands by each others' side inspires hope and happiness. Miyo finally found someone who trusts her. This season should be a wild ride.

Almost around two years or so and we're back right where we left off. Tbh, I don't remember much, all I remember is that the finale Miyo saved Kiyoka from a coma or something?

Whatever, but seems like this time around this season will focus more on the supernatural and political side of things unlike last season that a sweet mix of romance and supernatural sprinkled in here and there. Show looks as pretty as ever, I'd say better than before. They used that almost two year break well, the backgrounds and such look really good.

But yeah, back to the actual show, and this absolute UGLY FUCK of a mother has the NERVE to call Miyo UGLY??? HAVE YOU LOOKED IN THE MIRROR HELLO??? Nah if dad wasn't there she would've been dead, and for a good reason. Being bitchy and rude out of literally nowhere for no reason. Still glad we have some romance sprinkled in here and there still at least. That sweet scene with them outside was really sweet.

But looks like they've run into their first problem of many already... having to share together a... BED! xD

Decent enough start, would've liked a recap, but I was remembering bits and pieces as the episode went on, so doesn't really matter all too much. Looks like Usuba family will be the antagonists this time around, so I'm excited to say how that plays out going from here. OP sounds exactly the same as the first, makes sense though, same artist and all lol.

Yeah, they know how to start, don’t they? I mean Miyo might have escaped that family of hers, but yeah, this dream sight thing ain’t never leaving her, and neither that ikemen cousin of hers. I mean I still don’t like that man, though yeah, I think this series wants to make him as relevant as they could, so nothing we can do. Anyway, so now that our Miyo knows what happiness is(sort of), and has already made a friend in Hazuki, it’s time for her to make a second friend…

… that being, Kiyoka’s father himself lol. Not sure how and why Miyo couldn’t figure he was mister father himself when he looks almost similar to Kiyoko himself, including hairstyle, or more like Kiyoka does xD Though yeah, you know there’s a pattern this series follows, and that is, the characters are NOT always nice people here. I mean Kiyoka’s mother calling Miyo a lowly attendant was beyond disrespectful. Really though, women in this series are straight out of those disney movies lmaoo. Good thing they’ve come there for a specific purpose, otherwise you know, Kiyoka might have done her instead of those demons lol. Anyway, a fine return, and of course, some real bad things are about to happen.

Sleep on the same bed though xD

The return of novelist Akumi Agitogi's masterpiece series since Summer 2023, and things once again are not proving easy for Miyo Saimori and her newfound marriage with Kiyoka Kudo, despite the happy marriage she's been seeking.

One thing though: remember to catch up on the OVA of Episode 13 before continuing on with the sequel.

Riria's 2nd OP, and as great as Season 1's OP is, this is once again, another excellent follow-up song.

With Arata being Miyo's bodyguard for her Dream-Sight ability, something which annoys Kiyoka, it's getting the handle of her dreams, that now is acting sporadically once again. Kiyoka and Hazuki's father Tadakiyo coincidentally meeting them to grant the two a place to stay in, but also be aware of more Grotesquerie events that will once again put Kiyoka on the busy side with new investigations.

The villa that will set both Miyo and Kiyoka's life ahead with meeting her rather strict parents-in-law, only for Miyo to get berated by his mother, it's the sight that he doesn't want her to be affected by his mother's own harshness. That said, Kiyoka will ensure that Miyo is being well taken care of at all times, even down to their own room with a bed, whihc Miyo fanatically finds another.

With Arata rebuilding the Usuba family, Takaihito warning him of the repercussions of Miyo and her Dream-Sight since he doesn't have the gift of relevation, and once again, another calamity's on the move.

This will be yet another great season incoming.

A nice start, seems like more focus on Miyo’s abilities this season.

But if anyone ever was worried that this season will have no bitchy characters, immediately we got introduced to Kiyoka’s mother, such a charming ray of sunshines all the time at a first glance.

Oh, and also apparently a calamity is coming, whatever we gonna do xD

Quite the nightmare for Miyo there. Pretty impressive OP and visuals though. Now that was an unusual way of meeting one's father in law. Damm their destination for the mission sure was pretty. Kiyoka's relationship with his mom was beyond icy. But she was beyond rude to Miyo. Between this new hunt for the demons, Kiyoka's mother and the reformation of the Usuba family this season sure is gonna get busy.

Even though I've read up to volume 5, I'm still pleased as I watch the first episode unfold. The visuals are great.

My only concern is up to what volume this anime will adapt. I was under the impression that season 2 will adapt volumes 3 and 4 but I read a rumour in Reddit that it will adapt up to volume 6. I hope they don't ruin the emotionality if they're keen on making this season plot-driven.

Did I miss something, are Miyo and Kiyoka married now (I watched the OVA but can't really remember the details, thought they just met the prince and discussed the upcoming marriage), but now they're sharing a bed. Would that happen if they were only engaged and in 'polite Japanese society', wouldn't they only share a bed if they were actually married?

I don't know much about Taisho era societal norms and traditions for courtship/engagement/betrothal, but imagine if this were Downton Abbey and an engaged couple were sharing a bed, it'd be a scandal. That's where I'm coming from.

My memory of s1 is a little vague but I remember enjoying it a lot until the last few episodes which dulled a bit. That being said this was a strong start. I like Miyo and Kudo a hell of a lot more than MaoMao and Jinshi. idk I just feel like they're a good comparison because Apothecary diaries are set in a similar traditional era.

I really giggled at the end wirh them being given a shared bed.
I also enjoyed that Kiyoka was protective of her but Miyo showed him that she is willing to face his mother herself and doesn't need protection bt support. I'm curious if we'll see any redeeming qualities to Kiyoka's mother, because she sure doesn't seem to have any so far!

Ahhhh I’ve missed my messy family drama so much. It’s been far too long. I see I have a new object of my hate this season, Kiyoka’s mom. Absolute bitch for NO reason. No wonder he’s so emotionally scarred if he grew up in a home with her. The absolute audacity of this bitch to insult Miyo’s appearance and background when she’s a guest in her house. I wanted to come thru the tv and wring her neck so bad. Kiyoka showed way more restraint than I.

Idek how his parents are together considering they’re total opposites. I mean I’m sure it was an arranged thing, but the fact Kiyoka dad seems happy with her makes me feel like there’s more to her than meets the eye. Still, no excuse for her behavior.

On the bright side, Kiyoka’s sister continues to be the best sister-in-law in animanga history! I love how she encourages Miyo to get outside her comfort zone and grow, yet remains patient and understanding of Miyo’s trauma. Genuinely great person.

Missed the way Miyo and Kiyoka look at each other so bad. So many cute scenes in this ep, handholding and Kiyoka looks at her with the softest, most understanding gaze now. That misunderstanding with them sharing the same bed and Miyo turning red as a beet was so damn cute.

I’m worried about this calamity the prince is talking about. It must have something to do with the shadowy figure stalking Miyo.. but who and what? This season is gonna be really interesting. Seems like way higher stakes than the last. Can’t wait. Great start.

My messy marriage is back with s2. Just hope this time we'll get some happy marriage stuff and not more mess, doubt it but still.

Interesting to meet Kudou's parents already. His father looks like an older Kiyoka while the mother looks like an older Hazuki. Idk if this is just them being lazy or what, not that I mind. I highly doubt the mother is being that obnoxious for no reason. Maybe she's an awkard tsundere or secretly possessive of her son or maybe she really is just like that. The father seems like a chill guy, calm and scheming type.

Not a bad first episode to continue, quite entertaining. Just hope there won't be more josei/shoujo bs but given that Usuba guy is living with them, doesn't give much hope. The prince even entrusted the future to Miyo and him forcing on her, I mean protecting her. OP is nice btw and the visuals pretty, same for the episode.

How nice to see this couple again! But seriously, can Miyo just get a break for once? Now there are problems with demons, an Usuba threatening the Imperial City, and to top it all off, Kiyoka's mother is absolutely horrible. (I really thought everyone in the Kudou family was kind-hearted, but it seems she broke the mold.)

The silver lining is that Miyo and Kiyoka are closer than ever and support each other completely - well, almost completely. Miyo still isn't ready to share a bed with Kiyoka, and poor Kiyoka looked very disappointed when Miyo ran out of the room. πŸ˜…

Honestly, I think in Taisho era sharing a bed by people who aren't married wasn't acceptable either. After WW2 japan started to adapt western norms (eg. nuclear family) but they started to be more open and not so conservative only recently. Still, it's just a fictional story, maybe it's normal in their world and only Miyo was kept in the dark by their customs

Well we are back with the second season of this anime

At first glance it seems that this season will unfold through events near Miyo's husband's father's house. Although this girl is on a more sophisticated and calm level than at the beginning of the first season, Miyo is still the insufferable girl with a low voice and apologizing all the time, My god, what an annoying character, I like shy characters, but Miyo is unbearable to me. She doesn't confront people, no matter how much they say she's trash, the proof of that was her husband's mother bullying her in this episode and she apologized like an idiot. What a poorly written character.

On the bright side, in this episode we had incredible scenery throughout the minutes, forests and local geography there are beautiful, and it's incredible how good the animation continues to be. Overall, it was an initial episode with nothing happening, just the two of them traveling and monsters appearing around there.

My Happy Marriage season 2 has gotten off to a pretty good start. As before, the visuals look really nice, especially with some of the sunset background shots when Miyo and Kiyoka were walking around close to his family's villa.

However, as with the first season, we also have another character who looks down towards Miyo so harshly. Kiyoka's mother is certainly going to gather a lot of hatred going by how their first meeting went and you can see why Kiyoka detests her a lot as well. His father's personality is very different, almost as kind and approachable as Hazuki.

Not only that, but going by what prince Takaihito says, things aren't looking so rosy in the future as he voices this towards Usuba. I do see him playing an important role for this season, so I do look forward to seeing how he and the other deal with this potential calamity on the horizon.

The new OP sounds and looks just as nice as the previous season, which I do like a lot. Hopefully in the next episode, we'll get to see the ED and I hope it's as good as the previous season's one as well.

Since finishing season 1 I’ve been super excited for season 2, we got an OVA so I was happy watching her showcase her new skills and mannerisms. AS FOR THE NEW SEASON, it’s cute, love the OP, ED, *chefs kiss*

KIYOKA’S MOTHER?!? No ma’am. I can’t, she infuriates me! But the way Kiyoka and Miyo stand by each others side! Love the development and how they grow more confident in each other and their trust in the other grows! 🫢🏽

It’s been too long and the ending there with danna-sama emotionally hurt was too hilarious! “Normally” lol, that’s not ever going to mean the same to poor Miyo-chan anymore.

Calamity awaiting the Usuba family, I remember them teasing about it on Ep 13 too so it’s nice that they’re reiterating that in case people missed that out.

Nice little date, I want to know more about jaw drop he had seeing her wear that dress, lmao. Flashes of her biological father? I couldn’t quite make that out.

No wonder Kudo-san’s parents don’t seem exactly on board with the idea. Ironically, I’ve a feeling his mother is true to herself and that’ll make it easier to win her over compared to the sophisticated and unpredictable father, but only time will tell.

Another beautiful round of Op and ED with the chill pink visuals! They really know how to land that. Ueda Reina-san’s voice is such a bliss for the ears, rough times ahead for me so the healing will be much needed.

It's great to be back with Miyo and Kiyoka; they are so adorable together. Miyo really can't catch a break when it comes to meeting new family members—having a mother-in-law like that is something no one deserves. Miyo's determination to get along with Kiyoka's mother is going to bring her a lot of pain. Miyo survived a terrible stepmother, and now she has to survive a terrible mother-in-law. Though maybe that's why she's not so bothered by her treatment—she's been dealing with it since she was a child. Kiyoka's father seems nice, but I wonder if he's guilty of spoiling his wife too much and not stepping in to stop her emotional abuse. Miyo turning completely red just from thinking about sleeping in the same bed as Kiyoka was hilarious. The episode really managed to build up whatever is about to happen

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Well, considering her family's past and what she's been through, she has trials to go through but she wants to change by all means . With Kiyoka by her side ofc.

So, they are just rehashing the whole wicked stepmother thing. Also, Miyo has reverted all of her character progression back to roughly the middle of season 1. And people here saying this was a good start? Lol. It looks nice, at least. Hopefully, the events mentioned at the end of the episode add some interesting new elements to the story. Poor Miyo can't catch a break. She just got free from her abusive adoptive mother and sister and now has to deal with the same stuff with her mother in law. I guess her and Kyoka already don't get along very well, because he was ready very quickly to square off with her. I wonder what the story is there.

Very nice visuals as ever. Animation is really good for this series. And then there is cute Mio and Kiyoka moments too..

There is new candidate to throw mud at now. New stepmother this time husband's edition. With such terrible family condition staying far away is wise choice from Kiyoka. He stood up for Mio as much as he could buy really cartoonishly devil. Hope this drama doesn't become same or drag along.
Fantasy elements of this series gets a lot hate but it's good enough for me. With demons and more Usaba dude causing problems looking forward to it.

Poor Kiyoka though, the look of disappointment when Mio chickened out...
