This whole Robin Arc is so much better than how it started (fkn hate Usopp). This side story is probably my 2nd favorite backstory right behind Nami's story. Seeing Robin cry makes me sad :(

10 stars out of 5. Finally see some good stories.

I wanted to punch those kids for throwing a tomato at her, she was too adorable for words.

Im guessing her aunt and uncle werent very kind to her either, treating her like a servant.

Her voice reminds me somewhat of Maka from Soul Eater, but I know they are not the same.

Wow, I hate to say it was Robin was unbearably cute as a kid. I also really enjoyed this episode so much more than the fighting the last few episodes.

LITTLE ROBIN IS TOO AMAZING AND ADORABLE FOR WORDS. and she also kind of made me want to tear up. the way she said all these sad things in her matter-of-fact voice - when the giant talked about laughing while in pain, i thought about the way she smiled when she said she had nowhere to return to.

also her mom is gorgeous, like the prettiest woman in the series so far imo! runs in the fam.

I thought that also, perhaps she was forced to eat it somehow?

So the giant has "The spirit of D" or whatever it was called. One of the great mysteries of One Piece haha. So D's aren't just humans then it seems.

the voice actor for child robin has a really cute voice, making the episode a lot more enjoyable.
her childhood seems really lonely but her friendship with the giant is so cute :) but we know that bad things happen in the end so i feel like in the next episode i'll cry if thats when the buster call happens.

Considering we've had an in-depth look into Franky's past even before Robin's I'd say this was a very long time coming!

Also another person with the initial "D"...I wonder what it actually means...somethinf to do with the Blank Century or Devil Fruits??

This episode had almost no recap! I had a brief thought of something super unlikely but something kinda funny to think about. Imagine if Spandam has a fake buster call phone. I mean, how else are they going to stop him from pressing it, he's a coward and the second things get too scary it's the push of a button. There are ways, it's just hard to imagine they could prevent him from pressing it all together.

I love little Robin! She's adorable and her kinda amateur voice actress Anzu Nagai makes her both cute and authentic sounding. Anzu played Daisy in the sixth movie and with how much I love her voice I'm thinking about watching the only other anime I can see that she ever played a role in apart from One Piece.

It seems the Ohara devils may have been specifically the archeologists who were trying to unveil the blank century, rather than the rather normal group of non-archeologist Ohara people. I imagine the buster call came because the navy found out about them and it came as a last-ditch effort to get rid of all the progress in unveiling this purposefully forgotten time period and the threats along with it. Following that, it would send Robin on a mission just as heartfelt as everyone else, on a mission to make Professor Clover, the other archeologists, and her own mothers wish come true as "they are the only people in history who have managed to decipher the ancient texts and they cannot go back". Her dream to find their history probably is a dream that has the weight of all of her lost people on her back. We're still on episode one of the flashback but that's my prediction on how things will go.

Robin was alone, friendless, and mistreated by everyone. :( She longed for a family, or in other words a place to belong as seen by her crying and reminiscing over a happy family life from a stranger. Not even her own past, because she never felt that before. It's likely that the first time she's ever truly been accepted, apart from maybe this giant, is the Straw Hats themselves. It's the first time she's actually belonged and that's why it was so touching to her that she cried!

Her friendship with Jaguar is so heartwarming it's insane. Every giant has a different hilarious laugh and they all seem so jolly. This one isn't from Elbaf! Him getting Robin to laugh through her hard times to have a good time and do that hilarious giant laugh of her own was so amazing to see I wanted to cry.

As good as it was to finally learn about Robin like this, this episode felt very exposition dump-y. The other backstories were really fluent and felt real, whereas here the amount of exposition told from the explanation of who the archeologists are, the giant tree, their library, Robin's past to the giant, Robin's mother leaving mentioned twice, why their work is important, a lot of it should have been stuff they already knew and unlike every other flashback in the series, this one made me feel like I should have a notebook to jot down all the key points at a lightning pace, it didn't feel natural, it actually felt artificial.

Robin's such a sweet little girl and she really does look like her mom. It's horrible that her island got obliterated by the Buster Call later on and ruined her life in addition to eliminating countless others.

Jaguar D. Saul... Another person with the mysterious D. initial! I've heard of his name before but I didn't know that he was a giant Robin knew when she was a child. Dereshishishi

Woaah! So Luffy has a giant for a relative? That's something else!

It's amazing how Robin became an archaeologist at such a young age. This goes to show that she's a genius!😯

She got him back. If you understand the characters well enough, you'd know she did!

Robin's past! Young Robin's voice is so cute and also feels nostalgic to me, idk why

It's disheartening to think about how the kids used to label Robin as a monster. When I was their age, I would have found her power incredibly cool!
It's understandable why the archaeologists didn't let Robin in on their research, but it still made me sad since she was excluded from something again.

Young Robin is too cute and you’ve gotta love that friendly giant.

Robin’s reluctance to accept help from the Strawhats in the last two arcs has been really bugging me. Especially now she knows Spandam will try and kill them regardless of the deal she had made. So I’m glad we’re finally getting her backstory and can start to understand where she’s coming from.
