| I love the relationship between the teacher (Frieren) and student (Fern) in any anime media. |

| From the beginning of this episode I immediately noticed that Fern was now taller than Frieren (before we know it she will start looking older than Frieren /sigh). Anyways, Fern spied on Frieren to see what she was up to and when Frieren was looking at the jewelry and then asking about desserts I figured it was probably for Fern's birthday which ended up being the case (btw Fern's pouting face when she thought Frieren was going to get dessert by herself was cute lol). The dessert that Frieren likes looks like Spanish flan which is a custard dessert. The scene with the demon guy was beautifully animated (as is this entire series so far) and I liked how Frieren taught Fern that she has to be more efficient with her defensive spells otherwise she'll run out of mana too fast. The flashback scene with the kid lifting up Frieren's skirt and Himmel getting mad because he has been wanting to see that was funny. It seems that as Frieren progresses on her adventures she's getting more nostalgic of her former hero party. |

| I like the idea that magic in this world is not set at one stagnant level, but instead can become outdated in a sense, and can improve with it being studied. This defensive magic was non-existent at the time of the demon's sealing; and was developed BECAUSE his zoltrak move was too powerful and needed to be nullified. Freiren basically frozen that demon general in time, levelled up for 80 years, and used his own spell against him, probably just from simply studying and researching it. We still don't go into absolute detail about the intricacies and inner workings of magic in this world, but just to see that it is given quite a bit more thought than what we usually see in fantasy anime is so good to see. Also that hole that Freiren made with zoltrak? I love how it pierced through the entire cliff itself so you could see the coastline on the other side. I wish they had gone up the whole and admired it for awhile. I like big holes |

| I like how even the magic elements in this series are portrayed in a more realistic manner, with humans studying offensive magic and evolving their defensive barriers over time. World-building like that is what makes Frieren so emotionally impactful. |
| Huh. Frieren actually remembered Fern's birthday and tried to celebrate it. That's nice of her. She's learning to be like humans bit by bit. I wanna know what elves are like in this universe now though. How different do they have to be to not understand these things? I'm guessing Frieren is actually the outlier. Damn. Frieren wiped out that demon like it was an old disease. I liked their explanation of showing human progress in magic in just 80 years. Interested in learning more about it. |

| Fern's birthday. That's why Frieren was acting strange xd He bought her a present, it was nice. Kvar, the sealed demon. Frieren went to kill him. "ZOLTRAAK!" The scene was GREAT. Very good chapter. (Chapters 04 and 05 of the manga adapted.)  |

| Did Frieren learn how to make grapes sour because of the short guy? The music reminds me of animal crossing lol so sweet of Frieren to remember Fern's bday. I feel like Himmel loved Frieren. Its such a shame that she never went to go visit him. It breaks my heart. |

| This show keeps surprising me time and time again. I had to process this scene for a second, and then I audibly squealed when I realized the implications of Frieren's reaction to Fern calling herself her onee-chan ~ So cute!  I like how the scene with Qual was handled. You can't even call it a fight scene, because it was over in just a few moves, but the way they set it up was magnificent. Setting him up as this huge, powerful and menacing opponent that even Frieren couldn't defeat, only to put us directly in her shoes by showing us how quickly humanity makes progress and that his oh-so-powerful moves were now just ordinary offensive magic. Wonderful. The lighting is amazingly done as always. They just know how to nail the atmosphere.  Turns out the old man was still just a little boy when Frieren and her friends were on their journey, I did wonder how old he was at the time but somehow it still tugged at my heartstrings when they showed such an innocent scene from the past. Time flies. |

| Nice, some action! This also answered a theory I had about elves beeing OP mages due to their age. I guess magic developement makes most stuff unusuable when you dont keep up. Like medicine. I have to say I found the show a bit boring but its also growing on me. Having a slow show like this is nice though. |

| that shopping bit was funny, with Fern chasing Frieren, and it ended up being stuff to offer her the delinquent looking adventurers being all excited to talk about sweets , funny the demon fight was also interesting, neatly explaining how the strongest spell from years before is now the normal everyday spell... and even better seeing Frieren use that same spell to win the fight lastly, lol at the skirt flip ... and then... her memory is way too good, the way she remembered that from so long ago, i guess it was an important day after all, since they had that scary fight |

After watching this anime, I don't think I want to be an Elf anymore, it's so sad to keep having the old memories why everyone you knew are long dead, and you just reminiscent over and over while trying to relive the past and ... anyway, sad overall...
