Are there any anime that restores your hope in anime? By which I mean you felt like quitting anime but suddenly after watching a certain anime it made you have hope and continue watching others.

I wasn’t really going to stop watching anime then, but after the anime burnt-out from 2021/2~2021/7, Kanon is the main reason I started to watch a lot more anime than before and more planned.

Earlier this year, Inu ni Nattara Suki na Hito ni Hirowareta. Meaning that it's hard to sink any lower, so anything you watch after that has to be better. That's hope, sort of.

Deaimon and most childcare series out there.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

I've never thought about quitting, but I have gone through plenty of times where nothing seems interesting. Hard to find motivation, (Like every time I see another Isekai anime). Inevitably an anime comes along and smacks you upside the head, just blind siding your expectations and notions on what Anime is.

Spice and Wolf, Made in Abyss, A Silent Voice, Are You Busy at the End of the World, Ride Your Wave, Sonny Boy.

All things ebb and flow

I never lost hope to begin with. Anime has been the most consistent in putting out things I'm interested in, far more than any other media I watch. That might be because the sheer amount produced every year, but still. There's never been a single dry spout for me so far.

"anime that restores your hope in anime"

From the current season - Undead Girl Murder Farce.

Its last season wasn't great...like at all.
Especially the part where the river pirate appeared in person.

imo it's not bad, just lack pay off since it's fully focused on tsurumi followers flashback. The second and third season are the benchmark for making a season finale. But the 4ht season is ended on a bad place. The pirate works better on an early episode of the season. That's why i abhor seasonal anime. Just release until finished, not like the manga still ongoing or anything.

2013 - Kill La Kill: Was about to lose interest in anime after watching like 200 series within 2 years; but KLK certainly "saved" anime for me
2014 - Parasyte: same as Mob
2015 - One Punch Man: Seeing your favorite manga animated is one thing; seeing it animated by the best possible staff is awesome
2016 - Mob Psycho 100: Great production value with love put into it, very unique and it is fully adapted with a satisfying conclusion; you can count such anime on one hand
2019 - Gundam The Origin: Actually mature and featuring the GOATest characters; wasnt ever a Gundam fan, but this made me rethink that
2021 - Mushoku Tensei: An actually good Isekai, what is this black magic

Probably Made in Abyss season 2. Before then i started shifting from anime to music as my main media consumption, but that show made me want to rewatch my favorites and go back to watching anime in bulk. Really need that s3

Onimai. I was almost ready to give up on anime after it declined so much from 2017-2022. Then Onimai aired, which I thought was going to be terrible at first too. I was completely wrong about it, and ended up rating it a 10. And then, the next season, Oshi no Ko aired, which was also very good.

Without spoiling and not going into nuances, this is a story about the value of altruistic self-sacrifice for the sake of your loved ones. As well as the importance of the family, surrogate or real, and the trust between its members.

I never felt like quitting anime. But certain moment in my life I stop watching anime for a long period of time and the only anime that keeps me back into anime is One piece.

Because he's the only one being consistenly in my life for more than 20 years.

So when i'm back into One piece and see there is 30-40 episodes left, everytime i'm watching there's a moment like " OMG, ghoosebumps, WHAT A SAVAGE.."
Morpheus: The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work... when you go to church... when you pay your taxes.
It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.

Neo: What truth?

Morpheus: That you are a slave, Neo.

I've taken many "breaks" from anime, some even lasting for years. What always brings me back are certain anime movies. I started watching anime again the last time after I saw "Your Name."

Surely, "Your Name" had flaws in its writing, but it's excellently directed. Especially the visual language, which conveys so much emotion, atmosphere, aesthetics, and is also supported by good music and sound direction. The Kuchikamizake trip sequence in "Your Name" is one of the most beautiful scenes I've seen in anime. I felt drawn into the movies because it truly tried to use the visual medium as a complete stage. This is always an aspect that is often neglected when it comes to movies or series. There's a big difference between presenting content from a script and truly bringing the screen to life. I often see movies and series that don't make the most of the visual and audible medium, where the result simply retells the script without really utilizing the layers that the medium actually offers.

Unfortunately, there's still a massive difference in directing between the highly regarded anime movies and anime shows. But this is due to factors like budget, time, expertise, and limitations from adaptation. In the end, I'm still very satisfied with animes like Violet Evergarden, Vinland Saga, or Ranking of Kings. There are certainly animes that can stand on their own in regard to offering a unique and profound experience, and I just hope that I can witness some outstanding animes in the near future.

I've never felt like quitting anime. every year has so many shows that remind me of why I love this medium. I mean hell, just this year, vinland saga and heavenly delusions already blew me away.

and from the start of jjk s2, it may do the same.

and then there are pluto, link click, mushoku tensei, uzamuki and other shows that I'm probably going to give at least an 8/10.

it's a great time to be an anime fan.

The only time I actually lost interest/lost hope in the medium was kinda my own fault for not branching out more and actually exploring what the medium had to offer(true of a lot of burnt out fans). So there wasn't a single show that brought me back in. Stuff like Hajime no Ippo Rising did get me interested in anime again (was a big fan of the original and sequal) after being kinda burnout on it but there was no single show.

Still in terms of stuff making me positive for the future there are a lot of upcoming productions like Pluto, Apothecary Diaries, Uzumaki, Delicious in Dungeon, Spice and Wolf Remake, Lazaarus etc Since I got back in though I have largely been pretty positive on the direction of the industry. That attitude has largely been rewarded over the years. Not perfect but honestly out of a lot of big media industries anime is one of the only I actually do feel entirely positive about.

I don't get the concept of "quitting". Sometimes you're in the mood to watch something so you look for things to watch, other times you're not. If you happen to not watch anything for a year, that's not quitting, that's just life. Explicitly thinking "That's it! This random shit I watched today was so shit that I'm never gonna watch anime again!" sounds stupid. It's about as stupid as "I'm quitting movies" or "I'm quitting books".

I got many burnout from anime, but some really good ones made me come back.
For example Kakushigoto, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Psycho-Pass (god bless the first season) and Cyberpunk Edgerunners.
Lately I had a burnout from anime (and videogames too, so I just lived with the pain), but I started Genshiken and it's really good. I like SoL anime more than fantasy ones nowadays; it's strange to grow up and change tastes so much.

“Humanity’s Mistakes” includes pedophilia.

This is like saying that "humanity's mistakes" also include killing, which, while correct it isn't even an argument when we are talking about a fictional setting.
