Hi, and welcome. You can call me Xavion.
I started watching anime during one of the lowest points in my life. Back in 2015, depression made everything feel distant and unreal. Stories became my way to hold on — but I didn’t yet know how to guard my mind. I consumed anything, and paid the price.
In 2018, I became a Christian — after years of avoiding it, partly because of what I’d seen growing up. It wasn’t some instant cure. I was still haunted by addiction, passivity, and regret. But I stopped walking alone. Slowly, I started rebuilding what fiction had eroded: clarity, conscience, direction.
I’m still learning. Still healing. Still making mistakes. But I no longer treat anime as pure escape. I approach it with caution, not cynicism — knowing it can shape who I become, for better or worse. I see stories as a gift, not a right.

Why is your profile picture Kirito?
Because Sword Art Online was one of the first anime that got me into this medium, alongside A Certain Scientific Railgun. Back then, I hadn’t seen more than 25 series — so SAO struck me hard, especially in the context of personal pain. Kirito became a symbol of escapism and survival. That stuck.
When I joined MAL, choosing him as my avatar felt natural. I’ve never changed it since. Interestingly, I recently found out we share the same zodiac decanate, which might explain the weird familiarity I’ve always felt toward him.
Why do you have so many dropped anime? And why rate them?
Early on, I forced myself to finish everything I started. Terrible decision.
Not all stories are worth the same time and energy. Now, I drop what doesn't serve me — including shows I’ve firmly decided not to continue. I don’t rate entries I’ve barely touched, but if I’ve watched enough to form a solid impression, I rate them honestly — even if I disliked or condemned it.
The high number of dropped entries is also due to another mistake:
I once thought it was “efficient” to drop every MAL entry I knew I wouldn’t watch.
Spoiler: it was not efficient. Just a colossal waste of time.
