These shit quirks in my hero lol. Dude's a WASHING MACHINE wtf are these people talking about "where was he"???

Endeavour continues to probably be the best character in the show. Heavy scene at the end of the episode but it looks like the mom is ok now? Or at least better. Hopefully she says what Endeavour needs to hear to get back up.

Jeanist owns the fucking batmobile I just can't xD

"The Hellish Todoroki Family - Part 2" yet the episode was practically Hawks' origin story.
By the way, I'm sorry but I didn't understand shit about Best Jeanist faking his death. Guess I was too busy feeling bad for Hawks and poor washing machine hero.

5/5 episode again. Looking forward to more Todoroki family drama next week.

I know that part of what was covered here was from the Hellish Todoroki Family chapter, but with how little of the episode was actually dedicated to that part, it feels like they should've used a different name for the episode.

Hawks’ backstory was an interesting one, definitely helps show why he looked up to Endeavor and why he is the way he is now, and it also explained how Dabi knew his real name. It was also cool seeing civilians fight back against villains themselves, the show may be preaching it’s a bad idea but imo it’s the next best option than relying on someone else.

The cherry on top of this episode was Endeavor’s moment alone and his reunion with most of his family, Rei included this time, it was also a bit comedic with Shoto’s reaction to his dad crying lol. It’s interesting Rei says that they’re all feeling more guilt and regret than Endeavor, not sure if that’s true but maybe we’ll understand next episode.

Very little action and I didn't feel anything for Endeavor. Not a "bad" episode per se, and I think it advances the plot (tho I think the whole thing with Wash was filler) but not a strong episode IMO.

agreed seems to draw out things for no good reason. we all know the situation by now.

At first I thought Hawks' wings were growing back.

Jeanist drives the Bat Mobile. That doesn't scream, " Hey, I'm a hero! Please attack," at all. Nope. Completely inconspicuous.

Wow the populace has really lost it. They destroy a block and blame the hero.

I do feel sorry for Endeavor. Next week should be interesting.

Damn. Hawk's had anything else but a normal childhood. Usually people like his father and his mother shouldn't have children in the first place. Saying this obviously means Hawks wouldn't have been born, but without the hero society who knows what would've become of him. This flashback also explains his deeper connection with the "hero" Endeavor.

We also finally learned about how Hawks and Best Jeanist were able to trick Dabi into thinking Jeanist was dead. I'm amazed and creeped out at the same time what kind of surgeries are able to get you into a state of death. Even though Hawks figured his mother would be the leak to his name, that still doesn't explain how Daby was able to track her down.

The aftermath of the war and the distrust in heroes increases with every new day. Normal citizens resort on support items that they can't even handle and thus logically cause more damage to themself and eventually even other people. Not being able to withstand the pressure even established heroe's retire one after another.

Seeing Endeavor breaking down at the end definitely made me sad. Does Natsuo really not understand why his dad is crying? Everything that happened in the past aside, he should clearly recognize the drastic change in his dad. I honestly didn't expect Endeavor's wife Rei to also show up for a visit. But it's a pleasant surprise nonetheless. I guess next week is where we're diving deep into the past of the Todoroki's.

Looking forward to that.

I'm really glad we're finally seeing a lot of best jeanist. Before I think we've only seen him with bakugo a bit and also him getting clapped by all for one. I also really loved hawks backstory and I felt really bad for endeavor. 10/10 episode.

I liked it, but seeing Hawk's scenex again after seeing it the first time in the manga, I just realized there's a couple of plotholes surrounding Hawks that I don't remember ever got answered and that will nag me forever more. I'll make note of that.

Endeavor was great, though.

I love Hawks, too. He wanted to help his hero, Endeavor. Like... same, dude. Same.

1) They really needed some kind of lead in to Hawks's backstory instead of just jumping straight to it from the OP
2) The exposition about faking Best Jeanist's death was both lazily done and uncessary
3) They destroyed the mood of Endeavor's big scene with Shoto's goofy ass comedic reaction
4) Please, if you insist on having these stupid name tags for main characters still just do it once per season.  I do not need a reminder of what Shoto's powers are especially in a scene where he isn't even using them.
5) Stop reusing footage to start the episode.  You aren't One Piece.  You drop a season every other year.  You don't need to kill time yet you keep dragging the series down with filler and bad pacing.

I understand that we are going through a slow point in the series right now and I think that this was a great time to get to see Hawk's past, as I have been very curious about it for a while. The episode, also tells the entire situation of the world very well.

yay back for more dispair, can i just sepuku already? lols

those 2, instead of helping Bakugo go there faster, they are making him pull them instead (how does someone who just woke up from mortal wounds just pull that big guy like that? lols)

time for some backstory from the bird man Hawks, and just like every other, he grew up watching heroes like All Might and Endeavor
geez, his father was annoying, and their home was dirtier than the guy from "Angel next door" lmao
funnily enough, Endeavor, was the one who finally caught his father and saved him, his doll was shining very bright (even brighter than the Kita extroverted shine that blinded Bocchi lols)
by becoming a hero, her mother would get payed expenses and stuff, worth

hawks finally woke up, and seeing him talk through the phone was interesting

using Nomu science to keep Jeanist alive, while making Dabi think he died (no wonder he was so sure about his death before), but why would Dabi want to keep his body?

Jeanist catching a few villains randomly while driving, but that place has no police or heroes, so he had to send some of his own to protect those citizens
that being said, most of the people weren't too happy about it
a quick visit to his home, to find that his mother was already gone, and left him a letter saying that she got blackmailed by some guys, and how she likes him (does she?)
with her mother gone, he is now finally free of shackles

remembering Twice and how he just wanted to help his friends, even if he was a villain, he was a good person, Hawks wants to be more like him

one of the escaped villains was having fun on that food shop, but the people aren't going to wait for the heroes, that also have some of those Boruto weapons lol
that being said, untrained people using those support items, only make the chaos go bigger by destroying stuff around them, how ironic

people not trusting heroes, actually harrassing them, are making the few heroes that still exist lose their hopes, and quit being heroes, while those same people complain about that , even tho it was partly their fault, make up your minds damn it

Endeavor, barely able to move his fingers, looking outside his window to see tons of people complaining, while also thinking about Toya and how multiple times already, he couldn't move while his sons were in danger
i can't imagine what is going thorugh his head even if he tells me lol

his family caught him crying with his heart full of regret.... but at the same time they aren't too sure about those tears lol time for the family to talk things through, next episode will probably be heavy on dialogue

Damn yeah Hawks really didn't have a bright childhood :S and now with how chaotic the world's situation is it's getting worse and worse especially with the heroes all leaving their duties when it's mayhem like that, now Endeavor's question and links are the main goal... still sad to see him crying like that, more backstory/explanations next, it should be interesting

wow they had the fire dad guy break down in tears, only to ruin the moment with a gag where the 3 children come in and he yells SHOTO as a call back to season 1.

Awful comedic timing. that would be like if anne frank was hiding in the roof and her friend made a fart joke, causing the nazis to capture them. there is a time and place for humor. this wasn't it

As a manga reader, it's a little frustrating dealing with the pace they are taking right now. This section of the story in the manga goes at lightning speed and they are adapting it sooo slowly. At least it's looking like the later episodes this season will have lots of stuff shoved in and go very fast because it felt VERY fast in the manga reading the action segments. Worry-some tho to consider that they adapted 50 some chapters into the first half of the season and this next arc is only 21 chapters. Don't see how it will work to stretch 21 chapters to the same length they adapted 50...

Hawks's abusive backstory was shown

This episode showed some important things and had necessary explanations but it still felt a bit dragged out.

Really wanna go back to the Tartarus escapee part.

Good buildup though.

Endeavor wallowing in the hospital room gave an atmosphere of doom and gloom. Then, in comes Mama Rei Todoroki like the ice goddess that she is --- ready to give Enji the talk that he needs to hear, putting him in his place, while also reboosting the confidence that he so desperately needs.

Hawks' backstory is heartbreaking --- but the inspiration he acquired from his Endeavor plushie and the real Endeavor that he sees on TV started to set him on the right path!
