What a great 1st season. I slept hard on this show when it came out. Now decided to give it a shot and WOW I'm glad I did. Blown by the creativity behind each episode. Overall 9/10
holy shit i feel like i hit the jack pot after i discovered how good this anime is
looking forward to the second half, this was way too good
10/10
this deserves more recognition to be honest, the creativity and the production values were off the charts, each episode was pure fun and all the different art styles and ideas they had were brilliant
I thought it was cute to see QT fall in love ^^ Didn't see that coming. Sweet but sad at the end. I actually appreciated QT doing something out of love for that coffeemaker :)
I expected this episode to be even more intense because it was the end of the season, although I loved it, QT's love story was really heart touching and was very nice to see him doin more than just act like Dandy's mom.

Liked this episode. Overall series wasn't really what I was hoping for but it was mostly fun. I might eventually watch the second season but no immediate desire 6/10.
A sad, but sweet ending to a great season of anime content!!
“I love heroes, but I don't want to be one. Do you even know what a hero is!? For example, you have some meat. Pirates will feast on the meat, but the hero will distribute it among the people! I want to eat the meat!” - Monkey D. Luffy
Sad ending for my QT, he fell in love with Maker even though she was in love with Register. What I liked about him he still was able to stop Register even though Maker didn't see him that way( great robot). I thought this ep was alright compared to the hard hitting comedy that was done by the previous EPs.
I loved loved this series so much and its characters especially the BBP, those guys were an odd combo but they managed to deliver such great adventure. I wish though they added a female onto the crew and it would've been more than great, but I still very much love it. But some EPs left us hanging like the first ep, how did they survive that planet blast and how did they recover from being Zombies? It was almost like a cartoon with no continuation of the plot.
9/10 and I will watch season 2 definitely.
How I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb --- Dr Strangelove
Great episode.. It doesn't have last episode's atmosphere in it (this story focused only on QT, Dandy and Meouw only as side character), but of course that is because this is not a final episode ...
And then I found another rather underrated anime, this anime is better than majority of 8+ scored anime ...
"The Slave is the have-not, the oppressed one with nothing to spare.
But because the Slave is in that despairing situation, having nothing, it can kill the Emperor !"
I swear man, every episode of this show can be fleshed out enough to make a pretty good standalone 12 episodes series of its own, and you know your boy is down for that.
That moment when even a vacuum cleaner and a coffee maker are in a lovey-dovey relationship, while your lonely self is watching them from a digital screen.
Fantastic episode, incredible fighting scene, and a devastating ending, I can't wait till I start watching the second season.
Great anime. I liked how every episode revolved around a certain theme or sci-fi phenomenon.
1,2,3 - Interesting ideas with warping, different dimensions, food poisoning? Weak episodes, not much to say.
4 - Death
5 - Parental emotions
6 - Meaningless of war
7 - Faster than light
8 - Feels... and black hole.
9 - Conscious plants
10 - Time loop
11 - Information (and a wink to Schrödinger's cat)
12 - Ship of Theseus and Identity Crisis
13 - The most mysterious thing in the universe, love. Also AI ethics.
Space dandy! I've had mixed feelings about this anime before watching it. It's probably because of decent reviews. Well I'm amazed by the animation I had always a fan of different types of animations.
Each episode contain it's own story. That's what makes me love this anime.
The characters are loveable.
I loved this anime there is no question about this :)
It was nice to see an episode for QT. Weird, but sad. The music was great though.
But, in the long run, I enjoyed this series. It was one Dandy ol’ time. I can’t believe I ignored it ever since it came out. It’s a fun, charming gem in its own right. Yes, this is not Watanabe’s strongest work like Cowboy Bebop or Samurai Champloo. But, it’s not suppose to be. Space Dandy is its own thing ENTIRELY. As a comedy series, it’s great! I’m definitely going to binge season 2.
Solid end to the series with this episode. Really feels like something written by Dai Saito. Loved mostly all the episodes [except one and half]. The animation and the art was some of the best any TV anime has ever been.
What a final episode to finish on. Didn't think a love story between a vacuum cleaner and a coffee maker would interest me but it did, even if Maker never returned QT's feelings.
Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable show. The creativity, nice soundtrack and outstanding animation make this a great show.
To be honest, the robot had every right to exterminate the planet's alien equivalents of humans. It's Eren Yeager-style nonsense, although I'm not sure whether this was first, but whatever. Stopping the robot would only make the human equivalent aliens express their hatred for them, thereby putting a stop to all other appliance robots.
I gotta say, that this show is absolutely amazing. I never in my life would have thought that I would go through the emotional rollercoaster that I did watching the romance between QT and Maker. This is solidified it as a solid 8/10 show for me, and I can't wait to see where the second season takes me.
I had seen this anime in MAL a few months ago when similar results to redline and gurren lagann came out, the first thing I thought was "it must not be so cool" but then here I am putting 10 and in favorites, space dandy really surprises me.
It's all I ever wanted, good animation, funny and odd characters, a big and bizarre world, machines, artifacts and things that are just as bizarre and cool and TITS, I don't need anything else in my life, I can finally rest in peace
Alex and Zarek's duel of Space Dandy vs Pandora Hearts. Let's see how I'll like it.
A great fast-paced feel with comedy while breaking the fourth wall of the narrator and audience. -- Space Dandy, his life and work, to one day rule all of the Boobies bars, and work as a Alien Hunter.
And a Gorilla seems to want him, calling Dandy the key to global empire. I love how entertaining it is in is unique twist of everything. Weirdly enough... they die?
[Episode 2:] Well who knows the survived, but they did. I like the cat, he's cutely funny. The inside modern jokes and parodies are funny. The robot is awesome, this anime is great! The characters, and the animation movement is beautiful as well. He did a Michael Jackson move too LOL.
||| Basically an anime filled with modern references and parody jokes. |||
Scarlett and Honey are great as well.
And the men of the Gorilla keep chasing Dandy. And so they go in search of a special ramen. --It seems like a lot of random episodes with everything and anything, that type of comedy with no strong plot. Except that he's getting chased by that Gorilla.
[Episode 3:]
They save an extremely hot girl. Funny enough though she's... a terrifying alien it seems. And the scary monsters are actually warning them about her. She eats anything. And her true form is an ugly booby monster.
...So far, not every episode is so great. Just like your natural long running American tv shows where some episodes are great and some suck, or some series have a better rating to my taste of loving their episodes or not. And, I wouldn't be surprised if the episodes aren't so great, giving it a 7.
[Episode 4:] Meow gets bit and turns into a zombie contaminating everyone in the hospital. Hilarious enough they became zombies and continued their lives. This lifestyle is pretty funny haha. Then EVERYONE is a zombie... this anime though still feels like a score of 7/10. Or less.
[Episode 5:] A alien girl transfer's Dandy's conscious into a stuffed animal. But he beats her, gets his body back and keeps her captive to register. And they slowly get along. Misunderstanding Dandy who was helping her she gets kidnapped. He saves her and she meets his grandpa just as Dandy planned. When she grows up she plans to join his crew! Really good episode.
[Episode 6:] A rather dumb comedic war against undies and vests. Pretty boring.
[Episode 7:] Jealous of the #1 fastest space racer stud attracting all the ladies, Dandy decides to become a racer. Prince falls in love with Dandy as his first rival.
... I still don't like it, there's no strong plot whatsoever except for the failed villain endlessly chases hero plot. And the episodic stories are random with no real connection to anything, random happenings and conclusions. No point in anything. No plot!
[Episode 8:] Dandy adopts a sweet female dog, but then she dies. Still not enjoyable episodes. Nothing worthwhile.
[Episode 9:] They go in search of a new species in a planet of Plants. The ost in this episode is hilarious. And he kills the planet.
[Episode 10:] They visit Meow's hometown. They get stuck in a loop. QT on the 88th day finally noticed. But only took action on the 108th loop. But in the end they're still caught in the loop. --The only great episode I truly enjoyed so far.
[Episode 11:] An alien book that causes amnesia kind of story. Ok episode.
[Episode 12:] The gang go for the chase of a shape-shifter alien. And they actualy caught one without knowing. The Chameleon shifts into Dandy. Super good episode, I liked up to the ending.
[Episode 13:] LAST EPISODE
QT falls in love with a coffee maker machine. Doing a bad job in her job, Coffee Maker got transferred somewhere to die for showing feelings, like she was in love. Unfocused in her work. Going in chase for her in over a week he finally finds her, in the dump. And the other robots go in a revolution. And for Coffee Maker, he attempts to save Cash Register. And it ends with him not getting anything... Good ep.
... Space Dandy:
Extremely Visually appealing in its art, with the universe being in space, with many different planets, galaxies, and aliens. A unique world and life in space.
And while the characters a likable, and pretty good. They don't show enough to be great. The notable ones are; Dandy, Meow, QT, Honey, and Scarlett. --Any other ones are less interesting or boring.
As for the story, it sucks. The episodes are usually interesting, but not enjoyable. Very little entertainment or love to my taste. Some parts are funny, but they're bad episodes overall because I didn't enjoy them to their fullest. They are small in value. Poor stories of episodes really.
As for the music, it's great. The voice actors as well with many accents in some characters which is new and appealing. And the parody is too subtle which is weak.
Even vacuum cleaners fall in love is quite an episode, it makes me sympathize a lot with QT, a character we only see as a sort of straight man to Dandy and Miau. The episode of how he falls in love in 23 days and the lengths he goes to just for this new sensation he learnt is quite the journey, makes you understand and care for QT way more than the 12 episodes before this one, his quest and failure to impress an unrequited love is very relatable,we've all fell inlove with someone who didn't feel the same way and the episode captures the feeling and the lengths we go to for that person that made us feel something new, even if they didn't feel the same... my only complaint might be that some aspects fall into a bit of a cliché, but it's executed in a way that it doesn't really matter
