Yes, these days I can barely even get through 24 episodes even. I'll watch halfway to around episode 12 or 13 and then get bored and start another anime. I guess that's what happens though when you watched almost all the good stuff though.

That's the opposite of me, I get bored watching seasonal stuff
And since I barely watch anime nowadays, I'm starting to watch a very long running series per year
Last year I catch up through all of Detective Conan, and this year I'm watching Lupin III
I'm always being a fan of long running series, but there are still a lot shows that I haven't watch since I'm always following a seasonal anime.

It varies on the anime and how attached I became to the story or characters. Sometimes I wish it would keep going for a few more seasons, and even with a slice-of-life movie after a series ends so you can see how the characters live "happily ever after" is nice too. If the story is too cliche with a hero fighting monsters and then the hero struggles to get super strong for a few episodes then finally defeats the biggest antagonist then yeah I get burned out at the beginning of the show unless someone tells me to give it a few because it switches up at the end.

You are probably watching too many episodes at a time or watching too many longer series in general.

I mean, I can understand, but I've been doing fine with a few eps at a time ^_^

Yeah, 24 eps should probably be the longest on any show. It was hard (even though I loved the shows) sitting through 74 eps of GRENDIZER... or 49 eps of DUNBINE and stuff like that. But this has as of recent only been a problem for me though. In the past I didn't think anything of it, or the slower pacing. I myself have become spoiled on 12 eps per season and no more than 24 eps a season modern anime. It won't keep me from my older shows, though. Just gotta' pace myself is all. And as of late I seem to be picking up more and more anime from before I was born or the year of.

It hasn't happened to me yet.

With longer series, I normally watch at a pace of two episodes per day, like Jojo and HxH.

It's the opposite for me, if the series is longer then I get used to the characters and enjoy it even more unless it contains something that I dislike or find boring (battle shounen for example).

I find myself being able to watch more consecutive episodes of a longer series compared to a shorter one without getting bored.

Yes. When I watch a long series I usually watch like an arc or two, then put it into hold and watch another one. Then after some time I get back into the long series. But reading a long series doesn't bore me most of the time, so I tend to read the manga of longer series(also it's filler-free).

Sometimes I'm really interested in something and if i manage to watch it in the time before this tiny obsession stops I can finish longer series but usually it's difficult for me. I watched Hunter x Hunter and Fairy Tale and few series that had like 3 seasons dor 24 episodes but usually I watch short stuff 12-24 eps, I guess 50 is still okay depending on the time. I hate this because there are many long series I'd love to watch but i either can bring myself to start then or I actually did and dropped them because I was burned out or lose interest for a while and had problem to find a right moment to go back to them.
The funny thing is often when I finish some shorter anime I wish it was longer (and then sometimes I go to manga) but then I watch something longer and get bored after 40 eps or so.

There are very few long anime that I would even start in the first place, but the ones I have seen were all fairly enjoyable. They are: Blood+, One Piece, Kodomo no Omocha, Gintama, a few seasons of Digimon, Hayate no Gotoku, and Cardcaptor Sakura

Yes, I realize that I would have a lot of trouble today to get into an anime that exceeds 50 episodes. 24 and 12 is perfect for me.

I see boredom as a kind of realism, that creates familiarity with these long animes. You feel as if you lived with them their wonderful, exciting, calm, and boring moments, this is what I call the consolidation of relations between viewers and animes...so i ignore my feeling of being bored in that case.

I depends on the long show. For some reason I can consume unlimited amounts of detective stories so for example Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo went really fast and I wanted more.

On the other hand battle shounen (with some exceptions) easily kills my enthusiasm.
Recently I was surprised to learn (I don't mind mahou shoujo) that Precure grinds my gears even faster than battle shounen...so I guess it's a matter of (formulaic and repetitive) execution.

I just get burnt out on mid length anime. Really long ones (100+ episodes minimum) are great, but I already watched the majority of those that interest me, so yea :x
12/13 episodes is fine too, that's something that can comfortably be finished in a day so it's like a nice little snack.

I don't remember the last time I managed to finish a 24 or 48 episode show tbh, I usually grow really bored by episode 14 or 15, unless it's a seperate seasons thing where I can watch 12 episodes for S1 and then another 12 for S2.

long running battle shonens have a way of stupidly padding the length of one single battle to over 10 episodes with internal monologue that doesn't make sense half of the time.

yeah i get bored

It depends, mostly it happens because it's hard to stretch out the plot for so many episodes while keeping the viewer engaged.

Jojo does that kinda well because the environment and setup changes often, however part 3 was way too long.

I got a little tired recently after binge watching the rest of the Cell saga and Majin Buu saga of Dragon Ball Z Kai. But that was because I wasn't watching other anime alongside them. I feel a little refreshed after watching the Entertainment District Arc of Demon Slayer.

12 is enough for me if the series does suck, but sometimes even at 24 episodes it feels off, especially since some series get broken up into seasons like with AoT, which I think has 88 episodes total, "not including" the OVA's.

I understand why, but I'd be more content with a series that had a start to finish, like Death Note did.

100 episodes give or take should cover what ever is important, but everybody's gotta make money so they strike while the iron is hot... sometimes.

I can't stand bs filler episodes though, I hate when a series purposely drags on with monotonous flash backs and long pauses mid-fight scene with few words that last the 21 minutes or less after the OP/ED/Preview/Recap previous episode stuff.

After all of the Dragonball franchise, Urusei Yatsura, the Naruto/Boruto series, BLEACH (at 1/2 filler) and I'm slowly snailing it through the Sailor Moon stuff...

Watching anime does feel like and endurance test after awhile.

If I can't feel it, I drop it, then try again... it's how I got through the Naruto franchise.

One Piece, maybe.

Detective Conan can sit on the back burner.

I can't see myself digesting 20 years of an anime series within a month or two, I do have other things to do.

That's not true, I'd have to be hospitalized again more than likely to start Detective Conan and maybe finish One Piece.

Currently watching "Shaman King 2021". I'm watching 3 to 5 episodes in a day with two to three days in between. Not because it's hard for me, or because the anime is boring, which it is slightly. But because it still hasn't finished airing.

Depending in the anime it be interesting and easy, or boring and hard.

I think I should really be doing more 24+ series. Idk, these days I get real bored of anime, an elaborate story might make me feel more invested, especially if it is a good romance.

I think it all depends on what's going on in my life. If I'm super busy and barely have time to even get one episode in a day and can only watch on weekends (like a few months ago), I think longer series are more appealing because I have something to attach to and actually give me a reason to relax and enjoy myself watching anime. Otherwise, I don't try to get into longer shows (>50 eps) unless I'm super duper free and bored and can finish it in a week.

I used to be able to put commitment into watching 100+ episode series as a child, but nowadays I just can't. I'm sure watching shorter series is better anyway, long series probably open the doors to lots of plotholes.

Depends on the anime im watching, if i'm liking the whole story and everything then watching a hundred wouldn't be a problem (like monster, ginga eiyu densetsu, black clover).

a 12 episode anime is the best length imo, not too long and not too short, just right

In my case, it's easier to just stick to seasonals nowadays. I just watch an episode for 20-25 minutes and that's it. I would rather do something else instead of bingeing which I rarely do anymore. Last time I binged a show was Stone Ocean and that was because of Netflix.

Anime should be as short as it can to tell the story. Actually this applies to any medium. So I actually don't mind anime of any length, and there are certainly shows that I wished were longer, and others shorter. I guess the problem with long-running shows is more of an economic issue. At some point, they no longer care about telling a concise story, and the show is just pushed to continue because people expect it to be there. There is economic pressure against a successful long running show to stop.

It's pretty hard for something to be interesting beyond 24 episodes.
It's not that I didn't watch longer series, like I finished Hell girl of all things. (Watched some other shows between seasons though.)
And teenage me somehow watched Yugioh...

It depends. I did drop some long running anime after 27-30 episodes because I got bored, whereas some others kept me hooked till the end.

What I can say for sure is that entertaining for 50+ episodes is much harder than doing it for just 1 cour.

It depends on the show, I didn't get bored watching HxH and BC(not too long but still compared to your standard of 24ep...). Dragon Ball Kai is another example, which I watched only recently actually. But watching Naruto, bleach and one piece, I think because of the slower pacing, mixed canon/filler eps, draggy comedy and an overall less production value per ep, I got bored a few times and it's very normal ig, each time I don't continue watching the show for like a week or so and then I can get back, I also watch them slower when back

It depends on the story and the pacing, but yes. I find that 12-26 range to be most ideal, and the longer something runs the more problems it seems to have with this kind of previously mentioned stuff:

but of course there are a few exceptions like Monster, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, and the Fullmetal Alchemist series.
