THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

The revelation of Yuno being the Spade Kingdom's Prince, as depicted by the defected Ralph: a backstory that involves from being the pride of his family, the former Spade Kingdom, to the Zogratis siblings targeting the newborn out of treason as a tool for their gain. Managing to carry Yuno all the way to Hage Village and sacrificing himself (former King Loyce) to carry on future hopes...what a story of travesty.

As if that's worse enough, the Golden Dawn being attacked by the Dark Triad (lead by Zenon), and Level 0 magicians at that. Even the most skilled Magic Knights are no match.

The ray of hope Yuno arriving at the nick of time...let's hope we'll get some good action next episode!

Also, Yuno Fan Club? The numbers would be pretty great, and try finding him on social media :)

The backstory and lore uncovered in this episode is wild. The Spade Kingdom's royal family, and the current Dark Triad are starting to make sense slowly, and Yuno's importance is amazing. I legit got shivers just watching this ep - wild. And despite his royalty, he really is a man of his word - pledging his allegiance first and foremost to Clover Kingdom.

Waiting on the edge of my seat when Zenon finds out that the Prince is not dead. This is INSANE. But man, the episode preview looks super spoilery - they won't die.

I love when the old big boss (Willam) fight with the new villain.

Make Yuno royalty kinda miss half of the main point of the Black Clover that you can do anything even if you're not born royal.

But we still get Asta, and even if Asta is born special, we still have captain Yami!!!

Makes me wonder if Asta is related to the Dark triad in any way. Since Yuno is born through normal good Spade Kingdom, so what about Asta? Maybe there is a reason he got the devil, idk, I'm just guessing at this point lol. But it's interesting to think about.

For most of the series, you see Asta's story and daily life in real time. Only a few episodes here and there do you get to see Yuno. I'm glad they're giving more of his side now and I'm excited to see where we'll go from here!

I loved the backstory.. absolutely incredible loyalty of those men who sacrificed themselves and allowed Yuno to survive and grow up in a safe environment.

Golden Dawn got attacked that easily? Wow. Makes sense though. Those Magic Knights are no match for Level 0.

Yuno arrived late, but still got there extremely fast! Hoping for some insane action next episode! Let's get it!

I don’t read the manga but I hope Asta isn’t a prince or someone special like Yuno. My favorite part about the series is the “greatness from nothing” theme. That said I do love that Asta is actually a royal, it makes a lot of sense.

I couldn't care less of what Yuno real identity, but I appreciate his growth and character development from this episode onwards. He isn't just about Magic Emperor or Asta, he treats Golden Dawn members as nakama though he doesn't show it. Yeah, more expression and emotion please.

RIP Golden Dawn fallen members..

exactly what i said n previous ep, but Asta isnt a Mage he is a special case and yami is a foreigner. Jack is there but im sure he is weaker than royals like mereleona or nozel. Tabata really ignores his motto.

Zenon entrance in manga is better and Bone magic eternal fang also looks better in manga
It is not bad but I like manga drawing more

However, Yuno's past is better in the anime because they expanded it and added more details.

They actually expanded the backstory of how Yuno came to Hague's church, even revealing the face of his father and fleshing out the role of the Dark Triad in the invasion. Liked the coup. I also like how Yuno's dad looks like him but older.

The assault of Zenon to Golden Dawn begins, and the GD already took the some big Ls.
I'm loving Zenon's voice the more I heard him talk. The VA nailed the flat, cold delivery of the character. I cannot wait to see him in action next episode.

If I may add a complain, would be that, like the user above pointed, Zenon's magic reveal was more impactful in the manga, but, well, knowing the usual quality of the anime, I'm not gonna be too harsh.

Yuno's backstory is so heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. Because of the Zogratis Siblings, The Dark Triad, Yuno's family perished. And now, Yuno's current family, the Golden Dawn, is also suffering because of them. Yuno's transformation to Spirit Dive is well-animated, I got goosebumps! I'm looking forward to some action, which will surely happen next episode: Golden Dawn vs Zenon and Two Dark Disciples.

So Yuno is really famous in Clover Kinhdom, he even have his own fans club and a verified social media account. lmao

Wallahi I'm vexed why did they have to leave it at a point like that.

Yuno's heritage does make a lot of sense considering he gained a four leafed clover grimoire while living in an area notorious for its little mana. flip, this could potentially be the first time we see Yuno actually highlighting some emotion to a fight that's why I'm livid with the cut off like that

Next episode gonna be a madness

Wow this episode was a rollercoaster of emotions. A great backstory about Yuno and his short lived life in Spade Kingdom. So the Dark Triad used to work for the King and Queen, interesting. Looks like no matter what Yuno will always love Clover Kingdom ๐Ÿฅบ. I wanted to hear more about Yuno and his heritage but nope.

Zenon and some stage 0 magicians decided to attack the Golden Dawn. They're actually so f***ing powerful, wow. So Zenon wanted William, who is also at the arcane, but my dumb ass thought he wanted to find Yuno.

Yuno came just in time. Hopefully his teammates are okay! Also, I'm curious how the others will react to Yuno being a prince, especially Asta.

How can I join Yuno'a fan club? ๐Ÿ˜‚ Can't wait for the next episode, looks like an epic battle is gonna happen then.

We finally got to see what happened in Yunos past before he ended up in front of the church in Hage. The intuition of Ralphs father was right about the Zogratis siblings aka the Dark Triad. But still it's tragic so many people had to die, but now we got some of the missing pieces we never had an answer for.

I can't believe Zenon and two of the Dark Disciples attacked the Golden Dawn. But this little showcase just confirmed their crazy strength. So that guy Asta fought before was only able to use 5% of the devil power, the 2 disciples can use 40% and Zenon is even able to use 80%? The bone magic looks like it will cause William a lot of problems. Of course it had to end on such a cliffhanger. I hope most of the Golden Dawn members are alright even if it didn't looked like it. Yuno is pissed and I'm sure the action we get next week will be glorious.

Yuno fanclubs huh? Petit Clover was funny as usual especially the part with blackgram haha.

I loved the backstory of Yuno (about time!) though I was surprised that Asta was not also left by Ralph's father at the church of Hage Village. There were three Spade Kingdom Magic Knights who fled the Spade Kingdom with three baby cribs, with Ralph's father carrying Yuno, but what did the other two carry? Was one of them Asta (somehow, unknown how or why..) and the other a fake decoy or were both of them fake decoys and (extremely improbably) Asta was left by someone from the Clover Kingdom at exactly the same time, at exactly the same place, right beside him, and even in an identical crib and with exactly the same baby clothes?

The above would make no sense (I really hope Tabata would not insult our intelligence to such an insufferable degree..), so one of the other two cribs must have contained Asta. However the major problem with that is how on Earth did the (postulated) Asta carrying magic knight find his way to the same church although all three of them fled to separate directions; since Spade Kingdom lies at the north of three other kingdoms it appeared that Ralph went due south toward the Clover Kingdom and the other two went southwest (toward the Heart Kingdom) and southeast (toward the Diamond Kingdom). That must have been "the plan", one crib with the crown prince and two decoys toward two other kingdoms. So I'm really curious how on Earth Asta ended up beside Yuno, and I really hope the explanation will make at least a little bit of sense..

As for the Golden Dawn, assuming they are not killed (I strongly doubt they will despite how it looked; it is one of those stories that never, ever kill any character, noone at all; even Julius and Finral survived though they both had fatal wounds - I think Julius technically died but was resurrected by his stored time magic..) Mimosa will surely have her hands full in healing them.. Time to put into practice her fresh Heart Kingdom training! This was also the first time we've seen Yuno totally lose it. He is always cool and expressionless as a cucumber, so his rage was quite a thing to behold. In the next episode I expect he will go all out; probably truly try to kill someone for the very first time..

I get this line of thought, and not that I completely disagree with it, but I think it's also interesting how it contrasts them. Yuno has this chosen one kind of deal to him, while Asta's power can come off as more like dumb luck, but hard work still plays an important role for both of them. The handling of themes can still be a bit iffy, so let's hope they don't completely throw it out with Asta's origin.
