Ah, Keichii making his voice getting heard even against some of the stubborn adults. We got a pretty tense episode this time around.

Also interesting to see Shion's mother getting involved in this arc. One of the elders is also pretty hard to deal with. Still, I do like how Keichii and how friends not giving into pressure.

I didnt like this old women, very annoying, Keiichi did the right thing going against her, no they can save Satoko she looks like a vulture, I got attacked by one a year ago, it had escaped the zoo, very scary moment.

I think this Satoko route is the best, even though the meeting was complicated but somehow they agreed with Keiichi. That's right, it look like Keiichi must banging oba-sama's head. Shion's mom really wanted to taste Keiichi

No Ending credits, and hey.... Tataridamashi 5 eps, hhmm...

Watching Minagoroshi-hen again, though Technically this is "Tataridamashi-hen", is so refreshing to see. Next episode would be the real deal as far as the story goes.

“I’m no outsider you old hag” go Keiichi go! Not a lot of action today, but a great episode. Love how everyone’s banding together in support of Satoko even the village leaders.

Took a lot of hard work and negotiating, but the kids just might pull this off. Expecting a twist next episode though.

First cour in the books, can’t wait for part 2! See y’all in winter

Finally everyone in the village forgives satoko, glad that the grandma is a good person deep down. Keiichi is really strong to be able to argue like that.

Sonozaki mom kinda hot ngl, wonder how that happened when the grandma looks like this... must be the father's genes

Tadaridamashi-hen, Episode 4 of 5. This is really turning out to be the low-key protest to save Satoko from her abusive uncle Teppei, even after ages of the dam war.

Nice try to overwhelm the Child Welfare Services center, but prolonging this situation any further isn't gonna forebode Satoko's rescue mission well. Meanwhile, I think that this is the very first time (of this new adaptation) that we're seeing the house that holds the Watanagashi Festival meeting of the Hinamizawa elders, and immediately the various banners bring an ominous feeling.

The way that Satoko's family was held with the lowest of low in regards, it's as simple as coordinating an apology, but due to how much involvement and harassings, this clearance of a situation is not so cut and clear. Reagrdless though, Keiichi at least has a spine to not let things be the status quo, and that at the very least is commendable to face both past and present truths and pin their thoughts together, FOR ONCE. Young people leading the way, who would've thought.

With how Detective Ooishi just conveniently slipped into the roux, I'd fear to believe that he's the one controlled by Oyashiro-sama, but for now it's all speculation. But truth be told, all this foreboding and the back-and-forth arguments between young and old (especially the Sonozakis' old grandma Oryo who can't seem to give up past grudges, even for pleasantries) are troublesome enough for time-wasting opportunities, yet to displace such a character like Keiichi who's bringing change to the village, I kinda liked it though that everyone is NOT bowing into pressure.

The Sonozakis' mom did a nice segway for sisters Mion and Shion, thinking it was out of love and Satoko being a rival, heh.

So close, yet so far...BUT THEY DID IT. Time to give the final push of fate!

Child Welfare Services Center still useless as always.

Keiichi's speech is great. He can convince the villagers to try to help Satoko especially those annoying adults. His confrontation with grumpy Sonozaki grandma is very intense. Gladfully, everything went well in the end.

Destiny can be broken, wonder what will happen in the end.

After all the negotiations, bowing and passive-aggressive threats, Keiichi manages to persuade the village chiefs and the Sonozaki's boss, Oryo. Looks like the (utterly useless) CWS will now take action against Teppei and the destiny that Rika is subtlely hinting at for the past weeks might be broken in this arc (yeah...let's see what sike card will surprise us rika-chan). Also at the end, Mion/Shion's mother, Akane, is giving me the ara ara vibes. Looks like she's a good teaser and a dominant one as well. Almost made Keiichi blush so hard on her though the Sonozaki sisters just pretty much took a bait from their mother in regards of love interests (ha nice one).

Next week will be the climax and the end of this arc. Minor spoilers but this has definitely deviated from the original version, which though it's kinda jarring, I'm kinda OK on where they took this story at this point (and idc what arc it's called because I'm new to this series). Now I need to watch how the 2006 version of Episode 12 went...

That face Mion did when her mother got to close to Kei-chan.

It is a same that we all know how badly this will end and the wait for how different the end will be is killing me.

Tbh, compared to the others arcs,
is painful, in a bad way, to watch because all of this ends up being completely pointless.
While it greatly adds in the lore and the character, what is supposed to be its core feels like filler till the bad end and the reveal arrive.

I am beginning to think that Featherine in the op is just self insert for R07(duh) and we wont actually see shit from meta world.

Akane had a fight with Oryo (because Oryo didn't like Akane's husband and didn't want them to get married), after some fighting Oryo disowned her or something so Mion became the next head

I don't remember the source, sorry. i think it was a Japanese listing of the series (sorta like how the Gou name was leaked before episode 2)
anyway there will be a Higu live stream on 12/25 https://youtu.be/5DppdrxC0E8
they'll probably announce new stuff there (i hope), so just wait 1 week and we'll know if the rumors are true or not.

Thank you I'll bookmark that livestream.

Also you are probably spot on about any sort of meta-world teasing. It will either be a super brief teaser clip at the end of part 1 to hook viewers, or it will be something near the very end of the show. Or, it could just be bait and nothing even happens with it.

After the way ep 2 went, I am kind of surprised like Hanyuu never showed up again or was mentioned even so far.

Do you mean the manga version of this current anime being published now? Do you know which chapter? EDIT: Found it! Ch 3.
EDIT: Wow...that scene is so much better in the manga than the anime.

My theory at the nest episode is that remember how in the OG Higurashi when Keiichi called Satoko just to say yes to help her?

What if Satoko's uncle will kill her until the last second before he got arrested?

But that would mean it can be obvious since Higurashi tends to be a psychological mystery so I don't think that is the case...

My second theory is that LOOK AT THE ACTIONS AND EXPRESSIONS OF MION... There are instances that she looks suspicious

My third theory is that KEIICHI WILL DIE because he tends to unite all the people although everyone agreed especially the Sonozaki's grandmother, this is just a hypothesis but what if Satoko's uncle escapes to the police and later on find out who the mastermind is so that he will have a grudge to Keiichi and kill him (But I don't think it is too long for just a 1 episode (Episode 13))

My fourth theory is that Satoko and her uncle will die not by Keiichi nor Shion but from Satoko herself?

Remember that she also is infected by the Hinamizawa Syndrome (Hers are stable I think, because of Rika's blood) but the only problem is that she is not driven by anger but fear and could possibly end up like what Keiichi did to Rena...

If to the point where Satoko will kill her uncle, then she will kill herself too because she failed to overcome her fear thinking she is not strong enough and that she is too weak.

It also gotten to the point where Satoshi got included in this arc (Even though compared to the last few arcs, he is not) and talks about how he "Run away" lol...

But knowing Satoko, even she (On the OG) is willing to get killed just to believe that she will be strong when gotten to that point... I mean Shion killed Satoko before in the OG Series right? So I don't think that also is the case...

My fifth theory is that Satoko will die but not at the hands of her uncle but to people who oppose to save her. We do not know yet who they are and even though in the OG Higurashi, Sonozaki's Grandmother agreed to Keiichi's terms...

What if she didn't accept it this time and deceived everyone of us? Although there are foreshadowing that she have forgiven the Hojo (but scared because of her position which is opened by Mion I think **I need to rewatch the episode lol**)

If only there are people who oppose, there are possibilities that Satoko will be kidnapped and get killed so that Satoko's uncle will be blamed for doing so even if he's not...

My sixth theory is that Satoko's uncle will be killed by Shion (Which I think is the least possible for this time)

It also is unlikely for the protest to failed even after Keiichi have the approval. But if it did, then there could also be a background killing spree from Satoko's uncle to the committee and Keiichi can potentially die for believing at him...

And the only magic word just to do those things are

Satoko (On the phone): No

I mean what could happen if she did not say yes right? What could go wrong?

That is just my theories about what will be the next episode...
Reality is often disappointing.

Also, I would add this...

My seventh theory is connected to fourth theory which is Satoko kills herself and her uncle...

But Keiichi and the committee will also get killed too..

I explained on my earlier comments on how there is a possibility that Satoko can kill her uncle right? Let's enter that theory...

If ever Satoko and her uncle died, Shion can kill Keiichi for believing and the committee for being late at doing anything to save Satoko...

Remember that Satoko and Shion is infected by the Hinamizawa Syndrome but Satoko is more stable...

Shion can also die at the next episode tbh since remember on the OG when... Keiichi got killed on the OG Higurashi by "Mion"? She can't stop herself...

It's really good to revive those Minagoroshi moments I had from the anime back in the day. I really hope I enjoy it by the time I read the VN.

My question is: how Ooishi is simply allowed in the town council? He even challenges Keiichi thinking out loud "let's see what he can do". Ooishi was quite antagonistic in Tatarigoroshi, and I still think the same thing happens in Tataridamashi. The whole protest in the next day could go wild and lead to a massacre.

Nfu-fu-fu! That may not be the case. But Ooishi's presence is constantly telling that something's off. Teppei desecrated a little shrine. Being a Houjou, that would be reason enough for him to be onikakushi.

Satoko broke Oyashiro-sama's statue arm when she was a child, and Rika took the blame. However, in Watadamashi, maybe Satoko didn't do anything to the statue. The head fell off, not the arm, so it could've already been broken/ruined. Of course that's a different kakera, but it's still relevant information.

Oh damn, that was quite an intense episode! And a pretty satisfying one I must say.

The balls of Keiichi to threaten to kill the head of the yakuza and not die in the attempt lol.

Even the mother?! Keiichi, the Sonozaki magnet xD. I loved it when their mom teased Mion and Shion, they're both so cute!

I wonder what's the deal with the detective...

Wait, what Rika said at the end implies that they already reached a good ending in some timeline? But then why is she still looping? Hmmm...

Even after all this, the most surprising thing is that this arc has one more episode haha.

I really want to know how Gou will deviate from the OG story in the end. I'm pretty sure it can't go the same way. Will it be enough to push Rika over the edge? Will she finally break?

Ooishi is allowed in the reunions to plan the festival because he is in charge of security.

I don't know what to think of him right now. I also saw that challenge when he said "let's see what he can do", but then in the end he was sort of smiling and said something like "not half bad"? Is he good with K1 after his speech or what?

I've been leaning towards your 4th theory since last episode. At the beginning I thought that it would be Keiichi or Shion, but Shion seems to have been subdued since last episode and it would be very heartbreaking to see Satoko break down when everybody else worked with the correct methods to save her.

I also like your idea that Satoko won't admit to the abuse on the phone. Just "no" and that's it. Or another theory could be your 1st theory with a spin: Satoko admits to the abuse on the phone, they all rush toward the Houjou home (Ooishi probably is not on their side so he may not send the police in when she admits the abuse) and when they enter, they find Satoko and Teppei dead with a weapon in the middle, mirroring Satoko's deaths in previous arcs.

Or maybe none of our theories will come true and everything will blow up spectacularly :D I mean, Tatarigoroshi finished in the most unexpected way, Tataridamashi could go for that too.

So Granny, so much for opening the windows and letting the air in. Ehh

I was pretty surprised to see Ooishi as part of the group.
