The final boss aka Brother Kurt was one the worst fight I've ever seen. I expected it to be at least entertaining but no, it took 1 minute to start and then Well & Elise basically used their 8 millions DPS combined attack to cast away the evil eldest son. Absolutely ridiculous or hilarious at the best. I seriously thought this show could be interesting or funny to watch. The first episode left me think the story would be a bit paradoxical, with a protagonist who has to pretend he's rich when he isn't. Turned out they wanted someting mixed between serious stuff (nobility, quests) and funny stuff (the characters overall). But the final was just awful, with one of the worst pacing I watched : teasing us for a few minutes (Well's epic fight, the tournament, etc) but not showing a single bit of anything. |

Geez... This was atrocious from start to finish. Makes Kenja no Mago look like a masterpiece. Too much politics, the story was uninteresting and the characters were bland af. Forgettable 3/10 |

In this last episode, it ends where the anime started at which is when Well becomes a count. The boss, which was Kurt, wasn't even really a fight so it didn't really last that long. The animation was bad throughout the whole episode even though I wasn't expecting much at this point. Well has developed since the series began which is good to see him work his way up in the kingdom as a noble. Kurt is now dead but at least the nobles who set him up are gone also. Not much happens after that and then it ended. Overall, this series didn't do anything that hasn't been done in so many other isekai. The series wasn't really bad by any means but it wasn't that good either. It didn't really even need to be an isekai in the first place since it was really only used to explain the food that Well brought with him. This anime adaptation was mostly an advertisement for the LN which I'm sure is a lot better than the anime which is true for most light novels. The concluding episode was ok even though it didn't really feel like a conclusion by any means. This series tried to do some interesting things with the development of the world and how the plot is driven by the characters but it was underwhelming except for the politics. The series didn't have that much action in it and there were only a few good comedic scenes throughout the whole thing. The pacing of the story especially after the first couple episodes was going way to fast for there to be any good development. Elise is best girl in this series by far and I also liked Wilma even though there was only a little bit of her. (This anime was 6/10 at best. I don't usually score too low unless it's really BAD.) |

I think this is another example of average-decent source material being absolutely botched upon adaptation. In trying to do everything, it really ended up not doing anything well--some good nuggets here and there, but too few and far in between. Not to mention subplots being thrown away willy nilly (for instance, the warning about the sister in law). I can only hope that IF this gets a S2 (judging by how low the budget is for this, I think not), it'll stop rushing and condensing content. As is, it's unquestionably a subpar product. |

Re:Zero had the annoying male main char that made me drop it after episode 8 or so (I really tried and forced me to watch that long). Grancest Senki afaik tried to adapt a whole novel series (lots of volumes) into 2-cour and you feld the rushed pacing. (I didn't really care about any of the chars.)How in the hell do you find Cheat Magician and 8th Son to be better than Re:Zero and Grancrest Senki? Re:Zero and Grancrest Senki had well thought out world, more interesting plot, characters, and pacing (most of the time). Cheat Magician, 8th Son, even Smartphone (which I actually enjoyed) are so generic, it's painful. This show could have been so much better if it tried to focus on the more interesting points of the story, which is anything that did not directly involve Wendelin. If they focused more on the world building instead of Well, his "harem", and their generic adventures, I may have found a bit more enjoyment in the series as a whole. As it stands, it was as average as average can be, only slightly worse; I give it a 4/10 at best. Then I have to admit that I like political stuff. Even if it is generic. The greatest fantasy anime I liked were Densetsu no Yuusha, Alderamin and Madan no Ou to Vanadis because they had the best fantasy worlds and politics and/or kingdoms fighting in some bigger war. Smartphone felt too much like Harem and the thing with the Smartphone got old too fast. Here at least they didn't try use the Iseka-thing too much. (Would have been better though if tit wasn't isekai at all. Could have just been a normal 8th son from that fantasy world ... with strong powers.) Didn't feel too much like a harem. There were the girls and they used it a bit as joke (but not too often) how they wanted to seduce him to get to be his retainers. Also the cool mage gus and a l il bit politics. I like if shows are okay-ish (if it is fantasy I might like it since I like fantasy) instead of trying "too much" and failing. I mean ... I even dropped Kimetsu no Yaiba early cause it felt like it was going to be the "annoying main char shounen" instead of "fantasy adventure". Funny thing though that you seem to have scored Endride with 6. (I gave it 7 and found it also to be one of the "okay-ish" shows which I liked more than usual because it was fantasy and I like fantasy.) With MAL hating it that much I would have expected you to give it 1 or so ... since you seem to like the shows that "usually" are accepted by a majority. (Mean scores higher than 7 for the show on MAL.) I guess everyone just has a different taste. Shoukoku no Altair (not really fantasya but some fantasy-world made like the medieval europe) had a boring start and I though it would be a boring shounen but after forcing myself to watch more of it it really got better at some point (early enough so I would not bet bored and drop). (I saw you gave same - and high - score as me with the 8/10.) |

They should remove action genre from anime information because except that dungeon (or whatever it was) all fight/action scenes were skipped or ended in few secs (even in that dungeon it wasn't long action timing most things were skipped). I didn't understand why it had so low score but I understand now, and that brother noble harassing was so annoying to watch. I think it is 3rd worst anime from "isekai" genre for me. |

I like medieval politics and interactions more than fighting, well, it was fun to watch. And that kind of ending that is actually the beginning is something I like. I didn't have much expectation about this anime, I just watched it because I thought the opening was very good. It's not the best, nor the worst, it's just a standard anime isekai. I wanted to go to the manga, but from what I saw it doesn't have much material. Time to find another fantasy anime to put on the watch list. |

(I saw you gave same - and high - score as me with the 8/10.) For shows like Re:Zero, I found the characters to be interesting, but the story took a hold of me more--the mystery and intricacies of the plot drove me to want to see what happened next, which is something I enjoy in a show. Grancrest Senki, while the pacing was a bit fast, had a coherent and interesting plot the whole way through, paired with good action it worked to keep me entertained and excited to see what happened next. Shoukoku no Altair had a very interesting story, filled with character and plot development, so I enjoyed that one a lot. I think I find the depth of the world and political aspect (if applicable) to be key in any show that is not explicitly action or comedy-based. It actually hurts to see you dropped Kimetsu no Yaiba, since it was an excellent action show, but again, to each their own. I found the story to be very interesting and the action to be phenomenal, but I also have a strong enjoyment of most of the anime produced by studio ufotable, so I may be biased. My ratings depend on how I enjoyed the show rather than specific parts of it. For example, Endride got a 6 because, while it wasn't an great show, I generally enjoyed watching it. For shows that are just okay, I usually give a 5, shows that I enjoy but are not quite "good" get a 6, any show that I enjoy and look forward to every week gets a 7 and any show that I can't wait to see the next episode gets an 8 or 9, depending on how well the show plays out (that's where specifics come in); the same applies to shows lower than a 5--it really boils down to specifics based on my preferences. I tend to focus on action and comedy shows, which generally end up as the more the popular shows. I have, however, found shows that, despite a low MAL rating, I enjoyed immensely as well as shows that, despite a high MAL rating, I hated entirely. I guess it really boils down to preference; sorry again about the tone of the initial post. |

another bland fight as expected since it's only a arm-wrestling but with magic and not a fight throne room argument/play was unnecessary a bit forced evil guy monologue from kurt was also forced (and they removed last of his supporters) up to this point in time one area was already quite far in development. (so new and old village) as already stated he had good relationship with amelia before he left at age of 10. Kurt is petty and miser, so MC below age of 10 paid for his sister in law so she could send letters to her family from time to time (she came from a bit better knight family and is literate). @zannett amelia is sweet, did a bit of gold digging for her children, but there is no need for that warning, that spot get another woman who is much scarier, but you find about it when it's to late to do anything about it (but we will never see her in anime). @Nieznajomy43 there is just unofficial translation, but it's easy to find @markuzcifer depend on what you expect from ln. this is not classic shonen/isekai if i would put into genre it would be: slice of life, politic and a bit of adventure and action. (more talking and complaining less doing, also i think ln has higher age restriction) 5/10 with quality of animation and how they presented source material can't give more. even this might be too much. |

So thats it, then. The ending goes to the prologue scenes again. A happy end to the kingdom and its noble retainers which is so cringe af to me. And yeah, as expected, Well just become another himself in the previous world. Plus had so much girls. Plus had so much magic power. Plus had so much property. The end. No adventurous? Weird, lmao, while his initial goal was to become an adventurer but only ended up relaxing shit in the property with girls and became a landlord for the closurement. Still, Well was well. No matter status he got, he still stands as an employee of the kingdom. Great. Tbh, this show must be served better if the story building itself not skipping much good content and exchanged it with some nonsense. And ofc the whole isekai thingy never bring unique story to itself rather than a clicheness. But, its still served good laugh to me at all. Even in the last arc felt okay to. The MC personalities so far were quite likeable for me. Obviously to all the girls were quite fun to be following up. Unfortunately, the characterization over all people kinda rushed hell and felt bland in the matter of second attempt. However, since the harem still holds until his dead, its good to be seen as the ultimate satisfaction to me. The art so far can't judge as the best, but also can't be blamed as the worst. I called it in the average level on this mediocre show. The sounds departement do their good job, its nice ost for my honest opinion. The ed op sequences actually pretty easy to listen and kinda nice to my ears. Afterall, this little show had more impact to my enjoyment than my previous expectations. Okay, thats nice to knowing that. So, yeah, i keep my summary of judgement simple as some mediocre show of isekai out of there: 7/10 for this. Thats it. |

As someone who read the novel, i was pretty disappointed with most aspects of the adaptation, i think anime staff failed spectacularly at bringing out author's ideas into a reality, especially showing politics. I don't want to get into all the details, else it'll really take long, but just the sole fact that everything was fast paced while politics REQUIRE a slow pacing, showing multiple povs, especially antagonistic side and the anime didn't really bother given that they had only 12 episodes and a set of things they want to adapt... Especially disappointed how anime villionized Kurt, who was just thinking of Wend as his enemy who wants to take everything from him, making him make decisions that he did, he is not really that bad of a guy, he is just a poor guy who got into an unfortunate circumstances ( i don't deny he is a terrible ruler though). There is a common thing in all this episodes btw, they are extermely rushed and fast paced, this type of story requires!!! slow-pace to be good, you won't believe just how many details we've missed that would enhance viewing experience and let you enjoy the whole story and characters more... His companions and charcaters (except Elise) are bad even in the novel, anime didn't make them any better, which is unfortunate, they were just even more annoying now that you can actually hear them. All in all, i'll still probably lean towards a ... 7? but thats all because i've grown quite attached to it after reading novel, and i can't forgive myself if i give it a 6 or lower, but i only watched the anime, i expect the score to be way lower than 6... pretty sad. Well... back to reading novel i go, can't wait to read past of where we are left in the anime |

Humor was solid (except for food girl, funny at first but she has no other characteristics. Like, zero other characteristics. She has not once said anything not food related.", with that "Chocco Matte" at the end being no exception. If I had use a food simile to describe it, it's like a piece of shit with a side of fries. The shit is shit, and will never stop being shit. But those fries are still good. The fries are the humor, the entertainment value and the occasional incredible episode. (Episode 2 comes to mind) Unfortunately this one wasn't incredible. Still entertaining though. |

Did kinda enjoy the unusual isekai, focused on work office analogies, court politics, schemes & cooking were fun. The low budget non-action for fight scenes, some of the most horrible vfx/magic, and uninspired directing of otherwise interesting political plot, dragged the show down. Still, the group Wend gathered are a fun bunch including his short romance developing with Elize even under the political setup. |

The ending to a very poor anime. Combination of the worst parts of Arifueta, Shield Hero and Smartphone. Show starts off with an OK premise, but that gets tossed aside faster than Shield Hero's hook, when he gets promoted. Even the characters don't care, 'cept one brother who was clutching at that plot hook like a life preserver. Poor CGI and rushed, boring battles. Main character is born into a poor family in 17th century world with the most overpowered ability in anime: 21st Century knowledge. He doesn't use it to make money or freinds, or power, or anything. Until he wants sashimi. Oh, and apparently he can use magic too. Even the atypical weak-anime jump to a tournament arc fell flat when students were quickly dispatched by experienced adults who do this crap for a living. Why bother. The character development was non-existent, weak villains die off screen in final episode. They added some character part way in, she ate a lot of food. That's her story and character. 4/10 |

Another disappointing Isekai of the season. Honestly Isekai shows are suppose to be about exploration and adventure not petty politics and conspiracies. There was more effort in the cooking bullshit than there was with the story. And what is the show trying to achieve apart from creating a perfect empire for the protagonist? Like he already had women, power, allies, money, title and land halfway in the show. So I don't see much point to the adventuring part even if it ever occurs. Still the little adventuring task they had was filled with dull and redundant fights. No creativity, strategy, tactics or skills needed. The characters were no better. The OP MC with his complicated long name was just as boring and forgetful as the girl called Wilma. OP characters work when they have a cool and unique personality or equally powerful enemies to deal with. But Sir BauMiserable had neither. He is just a kind dweeb who loves Japanese food. Because that's only thing reincarnated Japanese salarymen think about in an Isekai world when they feel homesick. The rest of the characters were also underdeveloped and forgettable. So there is not much to talk about them. Overall it was a waste of time. |

The 1/3 was a solid good. Nothing more nothing less. The 2/3 was quite random and boring. The 3/3 turned out to be a family matter and in the end he managed to be a land lord even though he is the 8th son. This part was okay and had a satisfying ending, imo. Well, at least from the perspective of someone who has not read the novel, I can´t see why people are hating this anime. It was not awesome, yet it was not terrible. 6 or 7/10 |

Kinda disappointed in how Well acted his body's age and never like a 25-year old man. Also how he always followed the orders from others, which if he didn't could maybe have saved Kurt's life... Kinda fun average isekai this was with your typical op MC. My only complaint would be that some moments felt quite terrible to the point where it became awkward. |

That court session was AWESOME AND HILARIOUS! Brantag was the GREATEST ALLY Well could have. The Party members are all enjoyable characters, and all had a pretty strong role and developed with relationship to Well to what is being a child of noble. The 8th son/noble political fight was really good especially with the actors being someone close of family, Kurt and Roderich's dad, just who would've thought that spinning spear guy would end up being on the team than just a joke character LOL great balance of action, adventure, and politics. I give it a 6.5/10. Aside from the cgi and lack of good animation during some easily recognizable moments, and the fact that this show focused heavily upon the oft unconsidered politics in fantasy settings. BUt there was surely action and role playing elements to enjoy. They even covered a guild of sorts mildly. NOt much in terms of the ranking system, but they didnt wanna go that route for the show. Still the ending song was lovely, and I liked the show enoguh I would watch it again. Too bad it too so long to do things over just 12 episodes. And no second season in sight? I need a 2nd season. lol Oh well. PANTY THIEF!!! :P If I had to make the closest to a perfect anime isekai I would combine a little of this shows themes, most all the parts of Grimgar, much of the rpg themes in Goblin Slayer and most stuff from Danmachi. Perhaps we shall get an anime that good one day...one day... |

As a simple feel-good type of show in the vein of Slime Isekai with a setup like Knight's & Magic's this was never going to win any quality awards, yet in the end I think it did an acceptable job distinguishing itself from the crowd with its focus on political maneuvering. So it's watchable enough if you just need something quick to waste a few hours with. |

Man. I watched this in its entirety because I actually kind of enjoy the manga. But this was... awful. Long stretches of filler while we’re just watch the MC stare and feel conflicted. The action was animated horribly. Most plot points were explained after the fact in summary. For me, this anime committed the worst of all sins: it was boring. |

Its finally done. Well, the ending is totally fine. It was expected Kurt was going down at the end. I thought that Chief warned about Emelia was true but she's a nice mother and prepared for the worst. MC getting to grips about being a noble, and being smarter as he's tired of being out of discussions. It was an okay show for me. Not bad either. |

Such a bad adaptation. Speed running the source materials, characters doing things they didn't do in the manga and for reasons that didn't make sense. The overall issue I had though was how different the anime made the mcs character. At times during the Vs Kurt arc he seems very naive, even timid. Completely different from character in the manga. This is a person who both loved before and has been tempered by living in the Royal Capital and dealing with nobility for 3 years. Why would he become a quivering mess of anxiety when dealing with a poxy heir of a crappy domain? Makes no sense. It was so different from the manga that it pissed me off and I didn't watch half of episode 11 or any of episode 12. |

Plot as a whole was kind of okay. At least there are some. I did enjoy it. But protagonist is stuck in a repeating loop of noble quarrels and food fest, which is a bit plain and the supposedly main villain is so gullible, with the show killing off every bad guy in 1 second in the last episode. It's almost like a series of fillers. |

Solid 6/10 show. Really enjoyed the first 2 episodes. The middle part was oddly enjoyable, even though it was nothing special. The last few eps were pretty disappointing though. They forgot about the romance plots. The last mini arc was pretty lame. Would watch the sequel if it ever gets one. Though I doubt it. |
