How many manga chapters can you finish in a day?

There are many factors to determine how many chapters I read a day. I also do not have the habit of reading only one particular series on a given day. I prefer to have a variety of manga, coupled with anime, and doing other stuff like listening to music at the same time. It is like multi-tasking.

If say the manga that I am reading is for reviewing, I can read back and forth for multiple times. Some authors are pretty creative in their artwork which requires a bit more time to analyse the drawings, as well as the dialogue. But generally, when you can understand the style of the author, reading becomes easier and faster.

I also consider if the particular manga is an ongoing ones or new, how long the series has been serialised, and the age of the author. Don't get shocked with what I said as the era the author is in does play a part in how the artwork looks like and how the dialogue is being illustrated. For authors who have been drawing manga for years (like Eiichiro Oda for One Piece and Gosho Aoyama for Detective Conan), it will be noticed that their writing style is different from those authors who are younger. Even their beliefs and values input in their story are also different. Hence for series like these, it will take a little longer time to absorb and analyse in order to fully comprehend what the author is trying to tell the readers. I don't suppose many readers do that. However it does make a difference in terms of the level of comprehension and enjoyment of a series that it can bring to one.

Then there is language. I usually read manhua in its original. Chinese language is very rich. The use of idioms is very common and authors use them a lot in their dialogue. Sometimes I feel that English translation did not do justice to it. But it can't be helped since English is a much simpler language to learn and understand. Similarly, manhwa is another one which can be a bit challenging as well. Usually for non-English story, the time taken will be longer and the most I would read is about 6-8 chapters a day. Though I do stretch a bit more to about 15 on days that I can spare more time for it.

Generally, if I need to do a marathon of a series which has an ongoing of, say 500 chapters to catch up with, I will do a bit of calculation to spread out the number of chapters for this series, as well as the other stuff I am doing. The last I did for Detective Conan, I set 10 chapters for weekdays and Sunday, and 40 chapters for weekend. The other manga was then 6-10 chapters. The rest of the time is for daily activities of life.

Nowadays, I only read about 6-8 chapters a day. Time schedule can be very packed and I need to cut down the time for manga.

I have no idea because it really depends on the type of manga whether it is 4-Koma, weekly, monthly, dialogue heavy and/or picturesque etc.

It kinda depends on how I'm feeling. If I work on a later shift (finish at 10pm) I like to come up, snuggle up and read 10 or so chapters before going to sleep.

On my days off, I like to alternate between watching anime and reading manga, so I can get through about three volumes of One Piece in a day at the moment.

When I originally got hooked on Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, I think I was reading upwards of 50+ chapters a day. I finished each part in like two or three days and I read Part 5, 6 , and 7 all in less than a week. That was only really possible during my summer vacations when I was still in school, though. Now that I'm not, I often struggle to read even 10 chapters a day anymore.

I can read anywhere between 10-30 Chapters in one sitting. But it also depends on how much I'm getting into the manga. Usually the spent-out feeling from reading happens though anywhere between 10-30 Chapters.

If its a Shonen or a Manga with short chapters I read from 10 to 35 chapters a day. If its a seinen with longer chapters I usually just read a volume a day.

It depends on my mood and the length of the chapter, I was able to speed read Angelic Layer in maybe 5-6 hrs or so. I've been taking my time with Fruits Basket, averaging 4-5 chapters in maybe 2 hours.

Well, that kinda depends on the length and how interested I am in a manga. If I think it's really cool and interesting then maybe somewhere between 20 and 50. If the chapters are short, I can finish about 100 or more.

It honestly just depends on the manga i am reading. If its one i really enjoy, then i could finish it in one sitting or up to its released chapters. If it's not one i enjoy then i could read a couple of chapters and forget about ever reading it.

Interesting topic! This is one of those things that I'd always been interested in, but never really thought about until now.

After wasting my time checking my reading times and doing some convoluted math I have concluded that I could feasibly read about 265 chapters of a series with a normal amount of text a day, while paying attention to details and keeping my sanity intact. I usually read much slower than that though, and I don't have literally all of the time in my day, so ~80 chapters seems reasonable.

Some days I can finish a manga that has around 100+ chapters.

Other days I read around 15-20 if I don't feel like reading as much.

Depends on chapter length and how invested I am.

Around 10-100 for manga with 15-25 pages each
Around 1-70 for manga with 30-80 pages each

Idk about 1 page per chapter manga (like Tomo-chan) since I've never read any, but I'd say around 150 to 2500 by doing simple maths using the numbers for the first one.

It depends on my Mood & how good the Manga is, some Manga engrossed that much that I finished the whole thing in one sitting, others take several. I read 20th Century Boys in one sitting which has 249 chapters.

that question can depend of so many things. The most obvious ones being the length of a chapter and the average narrative content of one chapter. you cxould probably read the whole bleach manga in a day.

If you want to compare thing ask about the number volumes. Whatever the number of pages, it's always around 180 pages long.

Actually, One piece is know to have a lot of narrative content (well not for the fighting chapter, but the building is always very long). It's not HxH, but it's more than most shonens.

I'm aware of One Piece's world building, but I never felt like the chapters were really word-heavy. I've never compared its chapter's length to other shounen though. Don't think I have much ot compare it to in my completed, so I wouldn't know if it's chapters are wordier than ,say, Naruto or Bleach ones.

Anyway, good to know that those other shounen will be faster to read then haha

One piece actually does get text heavy later on. till around chapter 400-500 i could read a chapter in maybe 3/4 minutes but after that it took me about 5-7 minutes per chapter

I'm a crazy ass reader, I will literally never stop putting a manga series down on my desk until I finish, no matter how bad or lengthy it is lol. So... many chapters I can read.

Depends of the manga, the medium I read it and my schedule

If it's a 20s pages a chapter, little conversation, and physical manga, I could finish like 70 - 90 chapters, maybe even more than 150 chapters. But that is if I only read manga all day long.
If it's a 20s pages a chapter, little conversation, and I use laptop/hp, I could finish like 40 - 50 chapters. Maybe 70 - 80 if I am really attached to what I read.
If it's a 20s pages a chapter, little conversation, and physical manga, I could finish like 50 - 60 chapters I guess from my experience with One Piece. Maybe 70 chapters max if I am really attached to it.
If it's a 20s pages a chapter, much conversation, and I use laptop/hp, I may only can read like 20 - 30 chapters. 40s if I am attached.

If it's a 40s pages a chapter, little conversation, and I use laptop/hp, I could only finish about 25 - 35 chapters I guess.
If it's a 40s pages a chapter, much conversation, and I use laptop/hp, maybe about only 20 - 25.

But they are if I am really free.

Usually, I read like 15 - 30 chapters of 20s pages manga and 0 - 5 chapters of 40s manga a day. While on busy day, I may read only like 5 - 10 chapters of 20s pages a chapter manga, Or even not read any.

I finished both Monster and Berserk in a week so you can derive from that how fast I was reading. ~500 chapters so around 70-100 a day.

Both shows are absolutely amazing though so I wasn't surprised my attentionspan lasted like that.
