It is one of the more interesting yet stale genres of anime. You've seen evangelion which is a good start, next I would say gurren lagann. Then if you wanna get retro you can try the compilation movies of the original gundam, if not that then Gundam 00.

Also if you liked Evangelion I would give Rahxephon a try, it is very similar.

They are really good as long as you are okay with mecha, I know alot of the anime community is not a particular fan of it buuuuut the mechs aren't anywhere near the focus. Especially with the second movie.

I'm not super sure about the nice person, lol. But it's always good to see younger anime fans appreciating more older stuff. Also if you like Ghost in the Shell watching the first 2 patlabor movies are a must. Same director and equally as interesting.

Since I joined on Aug 2, 2018, I know MAL existed before that, but never used it. I used to keep track off my anime on a Notepad ^^
When I started to watch a lot more I figured MAL was a pretty handy site for me. Then after about 6 months I decided to start talking with people, since I had no one in my surrounding to that liked anime. ^^

I never heard of those, are they good?

I'm rewatching Attack on Titan with someone else, it the first time I watch anime with some else. ^^
I thought AoT would be a good fit for someone that isn't particularity into anime.

As for manga I'm only reading siscon ani to brocon, whenever it releases new pages.
