Great episode with lots of revelations about titans.

They finally went to the sea.

9/10. Can't wait for the next season. Hype!

Throughout the third season, I had problems with how things were adapted, but this episode was great!

It's sad looking at Eren as his childhood dreams are being crushed.

I hate Floch. I feel like it's my responsibility to say it every time I see him.

I am glad they elongated the scenes related to the sea.

The ending shows scenes from the next season, and also some big spoilers like the anime is so used to doing. I think I also saw the girl who will be the most hated character next season, but I am not sure.

I really got emotional this episode. Kaji Yuuki is a fantastic voice actor!

I am not sure if they changed 16 year old Eren's hairstyle. I feel like it looks similar to the manga at times, but it also looks different at times. Still, I think he looks better in the manga.

Definitely going to miss the series as much as when a Game of Throne season ends. Quite surprised to see next season (4) is the last one. I thought the source materials are aplenty by this time. It's good to end things on a high rather than dragging the story out though! 10/10

This is the best season of snk !

I'm confused about something though : i was sure that the elidans are turned to titans in merlyn then they cross the sea until they reach the paradise but in this ep when eren reached the wall next to the beach he said that that is the place where the eldians are turned to titans . So they don't cross the sea in their titan forms but the merlyans transport them by boats then they transform them to titans ? They even showed that titan who can't walk so it would be impossible for him to cross the sea
That's weird

Remembed the boats in grisha memories??? What are the boats for if they don't cross the sea whith the eldians in their human form...
Also.. if they turn them into titans before they reach the island..then how in hell will the titans CERTAINLY go to THAY ISLAND. Lol

Maybe this wasn't explained yet or maybe I missed the reveal in a previous episode, but why does the Royal family not want to protect the fellow eldians within the wall? Was it because king reiss believed the Marley side of the story, which claimed that eldians are a "devil race"?

Well the first king believed that the world would have been better off if titans and eldians never existed and he considered his people to be sinners. He also thought that if the world decided to exterminate them, that's fine, because they deserve it. Probably they did some bad things in the past, although not as bad as Marley's propaganda says.

That's why he made "the Vow" that changes the personality of any eldian with royal blood who receives the Founding Titan and forces them to adopt his ideals and not fight back against Marley.

It was very well-adapted, also I really liked that non-canon moment where Eren touched that crawling Titan's head, it added some depth to Eren's character (at least momentarily). I give S3 part 1 a 9/10, but possibly 10/10 when re-watching with more attention to details. Part 2 deserves no more than an 8 out of 10: amazing story adaptation and soundtrack but deastically inferior animation quality when compared to the previous seasons.

I noticed the boats but it's normal to have boats in the sea xD
But your second point makes sense
They showed a picture where titans are coming out from the sea and attacking a city in walls that's what made me think that way. Maybe those are the subjects of Ymir when they attacked humans in the past or something like that

Amazing season. This is just a clear 10/10 for me. I have so much respect for the author, the staff and the whole cast. So many memorable scenes I've rewatched many times due to the amazing performance by the seiyuus or the incredible animation and direction. Especially Ono Daisuke's (Erwin) performance in episode 4 when talking to Levi, as well as Kaji Yuki's (Eren) performance in this episode at the end hit me so hard.

May the final season be at least on this level.

Holy hell, that 's been one hell of a ride and it was one of the best!!! They, at last, finally saw the sea! At the same time though, they also saw the only way to freedom. This is easily a masterpiece 10/10.

Season 4 announced, I just hope that it's WIT Studio again. The HYPE is real!

And here I was thinking that Erwin's last charge was the best scene of this season. But no! It was Mikasa's smile!

Seriously now, it was a beautiful episode, ocean scene and Eren's speech were quite touching, and before when he was talking about freedom outside the walls just to go silent when he realised that it's not true anymore. Really nice and emotional.

Whole season was great, If only It hadn't had this CGI Collosal Titan. But it's still 10/10 from me.

Hmm a tough decision. Reveal the truth to the people and cause chaos or keep it hidden and keep lying. The effects of the reveal sadly was as expected. Though Marlo was among the many killed during the op the effects that he had in rallying his fellows should not be forgotten. While no doubt sounding silly the fact that even in death the number of soldiers who resent Armin for being the one that was saved show just how much Erwin was respected by his fellows. Eren though sure is stuck in a tough situation though reveal the truth and potentially lose Historia or keep it to yourself. After such grim losses its nice to see with springs coming that the people are stating to move back into the areas around wall Maria after the titan horde's were thinned. After so long its nice to see the cast finally reach the sea. It was fun seeing their reactions as they experience the tide and seawater for the first time. Overall an excellent end that was both satisfying emotionally while at the same time doing well in setting the scene for the last season next year. The end credits scene really showed just how brutal things are over the sea.

I'd say it really is only considered a shounen because of the magazine it is published in, because SNK has more complexity within its story than other shounens tend to have, making it feel like a seinen.
I don't want to write much so i'll just say this.. it isn't everyday you see a shounen anime make you actually have to focus on its story and themes to understand it correctly.

Nice wrap-up episode, pretty chill. They finally see the ocean, but this time they know what awaits them on the other side.

Overall we finally got answers to almost all questions that came up in the first two seasons. I didn't like the change to them fighting humans now at first, but I guess since it all came together nicely I'm hyped for the next season.

I'm not denying the fact that SNK feels more like a seinen, just pointing out that it's still labeled as a shounen, like it or not. Then again, I'm of the opinion that a shounen can have complex themes too, take Aku no Hana for example.

you are right but you have to understand that even though these are demographics they usually have certain types of elements and traits in that work, and when people say its not "shounen" they are just referring to the type of traits incorporated in the work
for example Kuroshitsuji is clearly a Shoujo~ due to the traits, and aspects it has, but its a shounen since its published in that magazine, there is no point telling people its not a shoujo or josei or whatever title for whatever anime, they know xD but they are just saying it incorporates different elements

I'm going to agree with what Floch said. I love Armin but the people around him do not know him well, doubt him because he's probably young and less experienced as Erwin, they do not know his contributions and how much effort he has put in the survey corps. He is a master strategist but of course, they're surrounded by people who doubt them and hate them.

I've been re-reading several parts of the manga from beginning until the latest chapter to see if I missed anything. Manga is ending soon, Isayama is moving on. Shingeki no Kyojin was his only and biggest hit and I'm sure he's probably tired and wants to end it. He already had a gruesome, tragic ending in mind but his editor or someone kept making him change it. I wonder if we will get the true ending or an ending his publisher wants him to create.

This was a perfect ending, I was reticent on giving this season a 10, it is an airing, not everything is free on my mind, but damm, since ep1 this series just keep a momentum that it never dropped, a crescendo that felt natural and climaxed many times in both some of the best action and cinematic experiences in the medium, but also superb writting and BIG twists, such a complete package, I will be giving this series a 9.6/10 = 10.
The only thing that I still think that is the least good is the characters, but regardless they improved much from previous seasons, so a 9 for that, but a 10 for everything else.
Really Wit set a new bar, I would be very happy to see them return to finish the series, and even knowing some spoilers, even before watching this Part II, still WOW.
I think I can now fully love and embrace SnK, without any fear or doubts.
Will probably pick the manga from where I left in 2015, cant wait.

Great finale, i always loved Attack on Titan even though it wasn't perfect, but this season was a masterpiece

I always enjoyed this series alot, but it got so much praise and specially S1, a bit too overhyped, with many flaws that werent fixed till S3 Part 1, so while I regarded it quite highly, it also came with some bitterness and there are shit outhere better than this, that deserve more recognizion, that is how I always felt but Part 1 and now Part 2, it is pretty hard to dislike or give alot of criticism to what has been done here, and what the mangaka accomplished.

Will never get why people find Misaka that interesting, never looked to this series looking for ships, but even Hystoria would make be a much more interesting romance than her, with either Ymir or Eren.

Then I'll have to disagree. There were some seriously well animated segments (if you ask me, Arifumi Imai did the best job with some of the scenes such as Levi vs Zeke), but the problem is its coherence. This season constantly switched between high quality and lazy and/or CGI moments (especially during the battle) unlike the previous seasons. But animation and character design are not the only relevant factors. Choreography quality was in general low when comparing to previous seasons. For example, Eren vs Reiner round 2 felt heavily less impactful and realistic than round 1 despite there was much more raw power (punches ecc.). These aren't just details. The colossal Titan looked awful, they should have animated it like in season 1. The problem is WIT was focusing on other projects (Vinland Saga för example) instead of giving priority to Aot (that should be their main project).
Still I'm thankful and I'd give this season at least an 8 out of 10. Artwork is good in general, story adaptation is amazing (especially the last episodes) and the soundtrack is really good (I'm a big fan of Sawano). I respect you're opinion and you don't have to agree, I just gave my opinion.

[Edit] I corrected some grammatical/orthographic mistakes, mostly because of that annoying auto-corrector.

I'm starting to like Floch as a character. Even though he kinda took it too far with Armin and the rest, he voices his unfiltered opinion about the situation everyone is in. From an objective standpoint, Erwin had more experience and leadership skills that Armin is severely lacking, adding to the fact that Erwin is the commander with many honors and accolades whereas Armin is just an officer.(could Armin convince 200 soldiers to give up on their hopes and dreams for one single objective? I don't think so).
