I didn't expect FMA:B to be funny, but the short jokes were good.

Both of those have the comedy tag tho.

That tag is used so liberally that I doubt there is anything without it that has anything close to comedy in it.
I probably regret this post by now.

It rightfully has the comedy tag, tho.

Some shows without the tag that made me giggle with some lines or scenes(excluding unintentional comedy like in Osama Game, Mayoiga, Mahou Shoujo Site or SAO)

But FMA:B is listed as a comedy though?

Anyway, my vote would go to March comes in like a Lion and it's second season

I also found shows like Akame ga Kill and Banana Fish to have some funny moments

why would you use wiki, which has zero emphasis on anime, as a source when you're literally on the biggest and most extensive anime DB site and creating your discussion there? That makes little sense to me, but okay. I guess you can always just google until you find some site that backs up your claim, but personally I only care about the MAL DB when talking about anime on MAL because that just seems logical to me.
I probably regret this post by now.

Yeah of course, you wouldn't identify Fullmetal as a show belonging to the comedy genre, but it still uses comedy, that's a subtle yet crucial difference. And it's legit to give it the tag, the comedy is consistently used throughout the entire course of the series.

Berserk 2016 is pretty hilarious, but probably not in a way they intended, same case for boruto.

Wikipedia has zero emphasis on Chess, but if I searched the website for information on Chess, it would provide information about Chess. "Until you find some site..." 1. It was the number one website. 2. Wikipedia is not "some site," it's notorious for information. 3. You're using a website to back your claim, too.

Ok I know MAL can sometimes be wonky with the tags they put on shows, but using Wikipedia to figure out the genre's for anime is like writing a research paper using Quora answers

Like Banana Fish has more tags than simply "crime and thriller"

I have no idea why Big Order doesn't have the comedy tag.
Who are you and why do you show your hostility towards a complete stranger whom you've not once spoken with before. Are you seriously asking to get blocked? Well, if that's what your intent is; to tempt me into throwing hands with someone as lowly and insignificant as you, then i may grant your wish provided you articulate yourself a bit better when trying to spite a person of my wavelength.

It's just an analogy relax man. All I'm saying is that Wikipedia will give you the most predominant genres present as in the case of FMA:B. In that case, comedy wouldn't be present but as @Pullman said, if you literally go to most dedicated anime db comedy would obviously be listed as a genre there

As I mentioned Banana Fish is only listed with Crime and Thriller when there are clearly more genres to it

Basically all the trainwreck shows and/or series that have a (debatable) "serious" execution but ends being hilarious instead (whetever this is intentional or not), examples include:

-Another (mostly in the last episodes, otherwise I found the series more eerie than funny)
-Code Geass
-Cross Ange
-Highschool of the Dead
-Killing Bites
-Mahou Shoujo Site
-Mayoiga
-Ousama Game
-Symphogear
-Valvrave the Liberator

Between much more shows. But really, anything can be considered funny by someone, since not all people have the same criteria. Even the most serious anime can be hilarious if seen by certain angle, or how it is executed. After all narm exists for something.

Surprised Code geass doesn't have comedy tag for table-kun alone.

With a thread called "Anime that's funny, but not listed as a Comedy." you'd expect the OP to be referring to myanimelist. I'm saying it's understandable why people would find it confusing that wikipedia was used as a source instead, I'm not taking a side here.

Koe no Katachi had it's funny scenes.

It's a false equivalency. When someone searches on Google for quick information on FMA:B, the first result is Wikipedia. They will take the information from that page, they will not bother to visit MAL for affirmation on genre types.

Agreed with this and add like half of the SoL shows in the database. The criterion seems arbitrary with this specific kind of series.

SukaSuka had some really nice comedy thrown in. Maybe not enough to be labeled as a comedy but it is one of those few shows I think has good comedy.

Katanagatari also has some good parody esque humor in it. No genre on MAL either.

Granted I feel comedy can be applied to almost any show. Very few shows have no comedy at all.

Even though I share the sentiment others have expressed that mal is more reliable than Wikipedia with respect to anime and, that one would expect users to rely on it especially when making a thread here, I don't see why should I disregard the thread altogether. For one thing, the tags attached to different shows are often disputed. Most importantly, I take it you meant to ask what non-comedy shows, i.e. not focused primarily on comedy, are funny - and this is the question I find that matters answering to. And in the particular case of FMA:B, I agree it's not a comedy. In the same vein, I would also mention Steins;Gate, Baccano! and Katanagatari.
