Baking with Chito and Yuu: 1 sack of sugar, 1 sack of salt, and all the potato flour that one sweeps up off the floor. Pour all into a wash basin and knead until gooey. Bake until it looks done.

Nice episode. The exploring and baking is surprisingly entertaining.

I love this series but each week I have a feeling of dread like something bad is going to happen to them. Especially with Yuuri's lack of common sense.

BRUH. I've been feeling that dread since the very beginning, especially when they do stuff like walking across that pipe.

Definitely one of my favorite episodes so far mainly based on the fact that the main focus was adventure and intrigue and it was just so very interesting!

That was stupidly dangerous, if she tripped on that conveyor and Blondie couldn't stop it in time, which for sure she won't coz its like less than a second if she did trip, she's dead just like that

Yuu has a talent creating face designed rations!
They now have more food for daily survival but i hope they're not lost...
poor Chi, almost got played and pulverized by Yuu playing with the on/off switch button of the big shredder machine!
4/5.

A bit of post-apocalyptic cooking, Chito even managed to avoid becoming a ration. In that regard, Yuuri's notion of running sideways was truly amusing.

I already wondered last episode: Is this really what potatoes are supposed to look like? Or is that how they will look in the year XXXX?

Date on the camera for this episode - November 7th 3230

Given what we know- food resources being scarce, lack of living space. Not hard to believe an advanced civilization genetically re-engineered food plants.
Also perhaps a it of whimsy on the part of the author, she does enjoy drawing.

how advanced..well episode 9 should provide a hint.

I liked that analogy about the diference between being lost or more lost and the Yuu's hunger, like the Chi's fear.

I think the fear of height was'nt showed only in this episode, she seemed to be scared at episode 3 in the elevator. This may be because of their home place.

Good to see a grandpa's cookie too.

Taking a different path than what was intended...Looks like the theme here was that always having something to guide you makes life easy but boring, but taking a different path can be risky but more exciting. That's life for you.

"A food production facility is a facility that produces food."

I knew Yuuri was going to turn on the grinder again! LOL! Somebody make a gif of Chi running on the conveyor belt!

Sugar, salt, and potato powder. Is it salt that they used, or was it actually dank weed that was in that bag? Well either way, Yuuri's really good at shaping bread. And she mentions grandfather who was a baker. Chi and Yuu aren't sisters if I recall correctly, but I don't think that really matters here. At least they got plenty of rations now. So after the food production facility, where to go next...

This really scared me

Think of the scene with the arrows, "What kind of person wouldn't follow the path clearly laid out for them" Your first instinct is to run directly away from danger, which is what she does, after Yuu turns it off she tells her "All you had to do was run sideways" which is a metaphor for a taking a different path.

The path is also a metaphor for life by the way, in case you didn't pick that up.

Chito and Yuuri really complement each other~ Sometimes, Yuu's yukkuri attitude can suppress the stress Chi-chan has and Chi's actually babysitting Yuu XD

Cute episode which brings us hope about their food supply~ Yuu's rations are sentimental :D

Possibly my favourite episode so far. There were so many funny moments, courtesy of Yuuri, alongside some quite deep and thought provoking conversation. The dialogue really is superbly written.

I can't believe there are so few episodes left. I hope this will be released on DVD/Bluray, as I will definitely be rewatching at some point.

Nope, just slightly inaccurate translation. Yuuri just goes "Yup, there was another bag" after Chito mentions salt as one of the ingredients. So she didn't necessarily know what it was, just that she saw a second bag that contained something different than sugar.

The exact phrase was "There was another bag"; seems like the translators took the liberty of adding "of that" in "there was another bag of that, too".

The ration production facility sounds like paradise for Yuuri, the world's most bizarre foodie, whose favorite foods are soup, potatoes, and snow.

"But aren't we always kinda lost?" Yuuri has a point there. We're seven episodes in and I don't really think these girls have any perspective of where they're going and why.

Yuuri may think that following signs is "boring", but if they ever wanna get anywhere/find civilization, they're going to have to go with Chito's instinct to follow the signs that they can find.

"That lady was a real airhead, huh? That's why her wings broke apart." R O A S T E D

"There's some kinda powder..." Okay, it's a good thing that Yuuri found sugar instead of a little coke that someone working at the ration place left behind. She's clearly never taken a chemistry class and learned about not tasting unidentified substances.

Chito and Yuuri were smart to figure out how to make their own rations, and it still worked! They kinda turned the potato into a dough somehow by kneading it. They both looked like they were about to climax from the delicacy they somehow baked...putting the sugar on top was a nice touch.
"No, son, you may not have your body pillow at the dinner table!"

It seems less reflective at first glance, but it is not so. The episode always conveys a feeling of vowel, but it is filled by the sympathy of Chito and Yuu and the sense of hunger that is watching them while they are eating. I hope the world does not do the same predicted end in this anime, it would be really sad to live in a similar world.

God, I relate to Chi so much on the fear of heights.

The theme of being lost and the choice of taking the path with a clear direction or the adventurous path. I also feel like we get introduced to a new character every third episodes.
And we finally get to see their Grandfather's face!

I really like this episode. But my stomach did a cartwheel when the showed the big pipes they're walking. Chii looks really cute when she's humming while kneading the dough and I can't help but to laugh when Yuu nagged Chii if the their ration are ready. Good thing they were still able to bake some ration

This episode is one of the simplest but in my opinion one of the happiest I've watched so far. I couldn't stop smiling and genuinely enjoy the whole thing as Yuuri and Chiito go along their mini adventure to find food and bake it. Each interaction with each other is spot on and it absolutely sells the show for me.

I really understand the background and all the pod of this show, but... It's not my thing, and since there are several comments saying it's good, that it is (but as I already said, it's not my thing), so as not to drop it, I decided to give it 3x speed, so I'll see each ep in 8 min xd

Since I've been here for a long time and it's just a Slice of Life in a desolate world, seeing how to survive day to day with the unknown with the only comedy being Chi, revealing Yuu's stupidity without a relevant story present, leaving reflections and not knowing With which other mothers to make up this work, but you already know.

I hope you don't take it badly, for each person's tastes, if they saw my list in MyAnimeList they have plenty to criticize me xddd

The same, but in Spanish, since translating my text into English the sense of what I want to say is lost, or it is hardly understood ↓↓↓↓↓

One of the most interesting things about Girls' Last Tour to me is the shape and function of the city and its facilities. Unlike fantasy and abstract settings, the city in Girls' Last Tour was once a functional, fairly realistic place for human habitation. It's a technological behemoth of a metropolis, spanning multiple stratums while standing far above Earth's surface. Despite being futuristic, it's still fairly understandable through the scope of present-day knowledge. There aren't crazy holograms, teleporters, mechas, lasers, or anything else associated with high-end science fiction. The city is built from concrete and steel, moves via conveyor belts, traveled via streets, and is powered via electricity, water, and gas. All the tech demonstrated could have been sourced from the mid 20th century, but just at a larger scale. It reminds me of utopian cities of the early 20th century, built as a testament to the dreams and potentials of human advancement, albeit doomed to fail due to feasibility, the dimension of human unpredictability, and the eventual association with autocratic tendencies.

As Chi and Yuu traversed the enormous steel pipe labyrinth, I could only wonder why these pipes were constructed in such a way. What kind of facility was this food processing plant? The scale makes it seem like the size of a city in an of itself. It's harrowing to watch the girls walk in pure darkness, and it's hilarious to see them discover the inner pipes used as pathways. At one time, these pipes were most likely used to transport large quantities of water or some other liquid, but now they're used as roads. It's fascinating to see how people create their own pathways in the absence of a clear direction. Then again, it's interesting to see Chi and Yuu debate on the benefits and boringness of guided pathways.

There's a hell of a lot of subtleties to the dialogue and visuals of Girls' Last Tour, and it's definitely worth a second watch to try and catch them all. I really love how the show brings up these transient thoughts regarding human behavior and modern society, but then quickly drops them since finding those answers won't necessarily help fill an empty stomach. Such thoughts are ponderous and fascinating to dwell on, but it's not worth getting stuck on them.
