Why do people love an anime at start but when a critic says "this is shit" everyone suddenly thinks that particular anime is shit?

Even the YouTuber the anime man had a video where he said that SAO was a 9.5 in his opinion and deleted the video month afterwards and said "SAO is shit" I don't get this I mean why? |

| All internet figures have their shitty egos and they don't want people to tell them they have shit taste. There's also something called "changing my mind" which is also pretty viable for people who don't pay attention when watching, then change their mind on an anime the moment any form of criticism comes up. They just weren't able to see the flaws at first. Also, important to ask, when did you get the "peak scores" from? Because some crazy people give their scores while an anime is airing, so a high peak in the case of Erased wouldn't be so surprising when it was airing, after all it's the ending that many people had problems with. |

| Tbh, I wouldn't like those three even if critics would praise it. I don't recall them ever explaining the time travel thing in Erased, Kabaneri was kind of dumb in the second half, and SAO got progressively worse with its harem and borderline incest. Just a thought, but that might be why they went down. |

| I don't think this has to due with critics... I mean ERASED is quite highly rated... As for the other two, they're average... It's just hype, and as time goes by the hype dies down and people comeback to their senses... Honestly where do you even read critic reviews? I doubt the major majority of watchers actually go find real critic reviews... |

| well Kabaneri was utter garbage, Zephsilver did a awesome review for that anime Haven't seen Sao, and I personally think Erased was good, but not as good as people thought, it could have been better but once you watch something the hypes let you drive in, but once you rewatch something you are going to see how bad (or not that good) an anime was for me, i'm rewatching Re:Zero with my brother, and couldn't believe how good it was at first, and how shit it turned after but i've learned, that 80% of the times, Popular anime tend to be quite bad |

| All 3 are just average to me. I don't think the score going down for those 3 anime had anything to do with critic. More like they were hyped at first but when hype gone, the rating drop. Either that or people have too much expectation due to hype but when it does not turn out to be good as the hype, some viewers feel disappointed and give the rating harshly. With the exception of maybe youtube,I don't think most anime fans care about anime critics. There are also the case when the anime went downhill. I thought Kabaneri started out ok but went downhill later on. |

I also watch the videos of said YouTubers, but not once have they influenced my scores or the way I enjoy watching a particular anime. I do like some OP and ED analysis videos though. | Well considering those three picks did legitimately start out good or great, towards the end, they all respectively kinda went head first one way or the other. When you don't see the show in a critical light, you tend to be blinded by whatever short comings those shows have. But then you might see someone's review explaining in depth of the flaws that held a show down and you suddenly think to yourself 'ok, this guy has a point. Maybe I was blinded and couldn't see the problems before me.' I dunno, or maybe just herd mentality and everyone jumping on hate bandwagon for no good reason. Either one makes sense. |

| I didn't even see any critic speak badly of Erased when I finished it. I just decided it was just above average on my own. I admit that I became more apparent of SAOs flaws in time. Initially gave it a 7/10 but is now a 4/10 for me. |

| People who change their likes based on someone else's likes are dumb and have no character. If I like something regardless or critics calling it trash or good then I like it there's no reason in faking hate/love except you really wanna be edgy and you let others lead your taste for you, that's weak. |

First of all if you take a random critic saying it's shit about an anime with hype no one will care, on the contrary they will get pitchforked by the fans for having a different opinion. If a random critic makes good points about why anime like SAO and Erased are shit then there will likely be all kinds of responses from haters praising them to fanboys telling them that they hate fun/have shit taste but passing through some more reasonable positive/negative/constructive/agreeing/disagreeing responses. If some popular critic says a random criticism then some of his fanbase bandwagons against said anime that's not necessarily because of the criticism nor because he is a critic but possibly because said person is an influencer (especially youtube "critics") and their opinion have more following because of their reach. However bandwagons are less illogical than you might think, it's not just about hating on an anime because a critic said some negative things about it. In order for a criticism to create bandwagon it needs to be grounded in reality or for most people to relate to it and it needs a trigger/justification from said anime. Kabaneri's trigger was the arrival of Biba, Erased's might be various for different people but the usual ones I see around are the killer reveal and that Kayo marries someone else. But it's not just because someone said it is shit, more likely because the "this is shit" is motivated by relatable arguments then when it comes to a breaking point like those I mentioned you can actually see a bandwagon. Erased was nonsense feels trip since the beginning but people will say it's gotten bad around ep 6 or something but it's not the case, it's just that from that point onward the show doesn't bring in the feels anymore for them. Theanimeman backtracking his opinions when he gets shit or backlash from some parts of the community is not news. He's the type of youtuber (like most of them) that tries to follow the flow of the community. I remember that Forneverworld said Erased wasn't anything special after watching the first episode until he realized how popular it was then suddenly it became one of his favorite anime of the season but I have no idea what he said about it after its end. |

| It's because young, impressionable kids who go on the internet see somebody older than them saying that their anime is bad. I remember those big anime Youtubers picking on SAO and everybody agreed with them because they gave evidence. If a person you looked up to proved how your anime you like is bad, you'd probably not enjoy it as much as you did before. |
