| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Oh man, that entrance with the train driven is dope. Benten always knows how to make an impression. With all the buildup into the finale, it almost feels like fate that events happen to this point. This episode also was very intense, literally on fire with action and imo, it made me like Benten even more although I felt bad at what happened to her. Definitely an underrated gem of the season. I enjoyed this show as much as the previous series. |

| I guess my dream OTP is officially dead (Should have expected this anyway since they've been pushing Kaisei really hard this season + the fact that they probably didn't want to dwell into cross species relationships) but that scene where Yasaburo was consoling her in her room was so sad and it just felt so right I don't hate Kaisei and I think that they would be good together, but I still feel like he belongs with Benten the most out of anyone solely because of how great their dynamic is and how much they both clearly care about each other - They're probably gonna push her and Nidaime to get together since she's apparently like (And kinda looks like) the women he fell in love with/the woman who is the reason why he's like the way he is today...Sighhhhhhhhhhh But man I did not expect this fight between Benten and Nidaime to happen the way it did O_O That was too awesome, and I was very happy to see both Tenmaya and Uncle get dragged to hell (They should have taken the head of the Friday's too, and I'm actually kinda bummed that nothing seemingly happened to that cunt - Although I hope his ass died in that fire) and most of all, that wedding scene was perfect (Best girl looked BEYOND gorgeous) Overall, this was a great finale to such a great season and imo this was even better than the first one which was great too might I add 9/10 |

| And so it ends once again ;__;.... The battle between Nidaime and Benten was intense as hell, literally on fire. Top-notch animation during that moment as well. All in all, it felt like a satisfying finale to me. Just like the first season, it was a fantastic and highly enjoyable ride. I'm going to miss it ;__;.... 10/10. Really hoping for a third season, considering there's a third novel in the works. Literally a highly underrated and underwatched gem. |

| What a nice ending! I'm glad the Yasaburo x Kaisei ship is sailing again. Easily one of the best shows this season together with Tsuki ga Kirei. 9/10 |
| The only real complaint i have for this conclusion is the quick removal of Soun and Tenmaya to hell. No matter how fitting it may have been, i can't find a way around saying it was lazy writing. How Kaisei didn't know what happened also boggles me but i'm fine with that. Definitely not what i expected. First half had a surprisingly brutal fight between Benten and Nidaime. So she resembles a woman he loved before? Need more explanations on this whole story. Also didn't get much on Benten again. I really liked though that Nidaime burned down his house (cage) and burned down a part of Benten's hair (character change initiated by Nidaime). So that was a nice touch and Benten's pretty messed up from this. Loved what they did with Yasaborou, Kaisei and the grandma. The marriage is pretty much set in stone, loved how they were sitting back-to-back <3 That really had me smiling. An odd one in this episode was Yodogawa getting presents and how this was brought up. What's that all about, setup for a season 3 if there is one. All in all, really an oddball of a series that really has me delighted. I'm not sure if i should rank this an 8 or 9, still need to think about the ending more. |

| I'm happy that Yasaburo/Kaisei is slowly happening. He even reinstated their engagement, which means that he likes her enough to make her his wife. Both Yajiro and the grandmother mentioned the red string of fate thing when it comes to Yasaburo and Kaisei. The grandmother even thought they were married. Shipping aside, we can't deny that there's attraction between the two. Whoever says that Yasaburo/Kaisei is forced, I beg to differ. Just because he doesn't get to be with Benten, doesn't mean that any other ship is forced. I don't think Benten is in love with Yasaburo. Yes, they have a special relationship but it's complicated. Yasaburo is clearly infatuated with her but he realized that he's not the one she needs. Now, whether Nidaime is the one she will ultimately end up with is yet to be seen but I do think that she has a thing for him. And I guess those who are hating on this ship are clearly a Yasaburo/Benten fans, so seeing Benten ending up with someone else doesn't sit well with them. |
She was drugged/asleep the entire time.....so yeah, how could she know anything? Or are you talking about with Suon...he's good at faking, apparently. Also people that wanted Benten and Yasaburo clearly missed the point of their relationship. It wasn't love. It was admiration. There's a huge difference. Yasaburo's feelings for Kaisai have been very clear since season 1, IMO. And her feelings were even more obvious. It wasn't forced it all, it was the opposite. It was built up really well over the course of the two seasons. Especially when they revealed the real reason why she hid from him. She follows him all the time but had to hide for his own sake. Yet she still followed him around. She clearly loves to be around him. |

| Great Finale. Honestly We Need Season 3 but I won't be upset if we don't get it. They wrapped things up pretty okay. Yo I swear Nidaime was going to kiss benten, but when he blew fire on her hair I was like "Oh SHIT!!!!" He became one my favorites after that. Actually now that I think about it WE NEED A SEASON 3 to develop the relationship between Yajirou and that Loli Tanuki!!!! SEASON 3 MUST HAPPEN!!! Aww Man Yasaburo and Kaisei are cute <3 Anyone else think that Grandma was going to die at the end? That would ave been sad. | I never thought all issues were going to get a conclusion this season. The Tenmaya and Soun case felt a bit rushed though. For the first time, we heard Yasaburou's really angry voice and he sounded hella badass. Wow, I'm surprised at all the different emotion displays we got from the Nidaime! It was so satisfying to see Benten et destroyed again. I must say Tengu fights are really impressive! The final scene with Yas', Kaisei and fluffy grandma was so cute! I'm going to update my final score from 9 to 10. And this goes to my favourite anime list! |

Also in terms of the Nidaime and Benten, you saw the way the Nidaime attacked and thought of her, I'd think not of them getting together especially with his flashback of the other woman who is probably Benten's mom. |

The anime's been a huge blast for me, perhaps the best i've seen in this year... so not only do i love it indefinitely i also think its the best. and those final episodes just solidified my opinion. As for the final episode, i gotta say Kaisei and Yasaburou scene in the end there was one of the sweetest i've ever seen, perhaps because both are my favorite characters huh. Glad Akadama accepted Yasaburou back. Really liked engagement of Yaichirou and Gyokuaran and his tail popping out. AND OFCOURSE Nidama past. it was just great and answered a lot of questions i had. The fight was quite neat as well. Now have to wait 3 years for third season? damn im not gonna last that long :( Hope my fool blood will last that long. All in all i have absolutely no issues with this season as it was very very satisfying and answered all questions that i had. |

Now dont misunderstand. Yes the pairing is also a part of the show as a whole, but why would they lead us to this point, just to do a complete left-turn. Throughout the whole show we have witnessed Yasaburo showing admiration towards Benten. Kaisei has always been a side-character having probably less than half the screen-time Benten had, so we had very little development to her character. That is also a reason why ending it like this seems weird. Also she fucking slept throughout the whole damn point of no return and the resolving of all problems. She has not once been a part of any problems that have been resolved throughout the 2 seasons. Maybe if she were the first female character introduced, and if she had a bit of backstory shown from her perspective which showed that in fact she liked Yasaburo, but was keeping distance because of the thing where Yasaburo cant keep form, then maybe she would have been the best choice.... But right now having a half human half tengu end up with a tanuki would have been the best choice. Well they did move things around, the ending for this episode actually should have happened at the end of episode 8 with the scene of Yasaburo and Benten at her place being the actual last thing that happened, at least that's how it was in the book, however I have no issue with how they did it in the anime. |
| Frustrated tengus are... o_o I love how ugly violence is in this series, even in the skies this is just a brawl. I like Nidaime so much as a character, messed up doesn't even start it. Though I hoped his composure will last into the moment he met his father. I hoped for more progress into solving the problem with Kaisei breaking the MCs transformation though. But I absolutely look forward to the next season and recommending this left and right. |

 Is it just me or that last episode was a Lion King reference? hahaha I loved how Kaisei and Yasaburou ended up together and even more Yaichirou's marriage. Besides that, I felt kinda sorry for Benten, specially because she continued to lose every time against Nidaime... There's so many things I didn't understand about her reactions to things, like when she was crying and saying that she was going to eat Yasaburou or this obsession with fighting Nidaime. Kinda confusing and over rushed ending. A pitty... |

| I'd admit, Yasaburo and Benten making their entrance by slamming the trams into Nidiame's house was bloody epic. XD Apart from Soun and Tenmaya's rather rushed departure via a massive Oni's hand, this was a thrilling episode. Benten and Nidaime's fight was a lot more intense than I fought it would be, but I do have sympathy for both of them. Benten for the way she reacted after Nidaime set her hair of fire, and Nidaime was losing control of his emotions and set his whole house on fire. Plus, seeing him breaking down in front of Akadama was sad. D= Same goes for Benten when Yasaburo visited her in the clock tower, showing her some pity. Yasaburo and Kaisei do make a great pairing, so Yasaburo has reinstated their engagement, which was surprising. As long as they're both happy, then good for them. =D Overall, P.A. Works first sequel was excellent. I'd say it's as good as season 1, so I'll give it another 9/10. =) |

| About the relationships in this, i think there is not a lot of wiggle room for different relationships and all of them only have one 'true end'. Benten is clearly set up with Nidaime (he is fire, she is ice) and that they would end up together was pretty obvious from the moment they introduced him, but i'm completely fine with that because the interesting part is not who gets together with whom, but how it comes to it and how the relationship dynamic ends up working. Nobody can tell me that you are not interested in Nidaime and Benten banter in a relationship, that would be some fierce stuff to be sure. With the fall from Re:Creators and Seikaisuru Kado this is clearly the anime of the season and quite a bit stronger than the first season, i just hope it will sell well enough to give us a third entry. |

That pretty much happened because Yodogawa even though he was afraid, he jumped in front Tenmaya and the old man when the latter told Tenmaya to kill all the tanukis. That's why there are multiple presents instead of just one. |
| I reeeeeeaaaaally hope P.A. Works will be able to make a 3rd season when the last novel comes out. The series really deserves it. It's one of the most original stories I've seen in media and its also beautifully animated... what's not to love? XD I loved this season as much as the previous one if not more and I hope I'll be able to say the same for the hypothetical sequel ;) |

Benten saw an opportunity to deal with one thorn and one regret with a single, fitting, action, that was to good to let pass by. My view on Benten hasn't changed. Yasaburo sees her as a flame he wants to be near but knows he shouldn't touch. |

| Really great final episode and I love the last scene with Yasaburou, Kaisei, and the Grandma Tanuki. That was so heartwarming. x) Yasaburou x Kaisei!! Congrats to Yaichirou and Gyokuran finally getting engaged. :) Seiran was cute too but I wish I could have seen more of her. This was a fantastic series with a unique storytelling and beautiful visuals. 8/10 |
| I gotta say all those build up for clash between ben-ten and nidaime, the actual fighting scene is pretty underwhelm and outright awkward. Aside from that, final episode does a decent job of wrapping things out. 7/10 |

| I've got some mixed feelings about the last episode, but that's mostly because I'm 100% anti NidaimexBenten so when I thought he might be kissing her, I just blanked out |D (I literally screamed NO in frustration out loud)... And then it turned out he was just lighting her hair on fire. Him breaking down in front of Akadama however was... Amazing. Notice Akadama said the same thing to Nidaime as he did to Benten? Deep down... He cares about both of them 8V There's a lot of raw emotions I don't think I really understand much because both of the characters--Nidaime and Benten--are so mysterious. We know Nidaime's frustrated because he was turned down by the woman he loved... But we still don't know so much about Benten. I want a third season only because I want to know why. I want to know how it got to this point. The rest of it was just wonderful, though. Yasaburou's grandmother's friggen adorable. I love her fluffy little self. Anybody who's read the novels know if they give you more answers? I might try reading them. | Thank you P.A. Works for this wonderful show. If they decide to adapt the third novel, I will be ecstatic but at the same time I am fine with this. When I finished the first Eccentric Family, I knew I had watched something that I will forever regard as one of the best anime of all time. I did not think there would be any possibility of a second season, mainly cause I was unaware of a second novel and also that I didn't see any need for a S2. This wasn't as good as the first season but that is an extremely hard task to accomplish, and you guys slammed it out of the park anyway. |

| Honestly, I didn't expect all this salt in the forums and that a lot of people would be dissatisfied with Yasaburo/Kaisei. Sure, Benten got more screen time than Kaisei but that still doesn't mean that she's the one Yasaburo should end up with. People need to remember that romance isn't a main focus on this series, so it doesn't really matter that Benten had a more important role than Kaisei. Benten's role is far from being a love interest for Yasaburo. It's different and much more important than that. Again, Yasaburo is infatuated with Benten but I don't think he is in love with her in that way. Also, Benten doesn't have those sort of feelings for Yasaburo. I think Nidaime was the only one who could bring out those emotions in her. Yes, they hate each other but to me, it's obvious Benten has a thing for him. I guess it's obvious that was Yaichiro and Gyokuran's wedding and not just an engagement? I mean, that was obviously a traditional Japanese wedding gown, right? So now they're officially married. |
| Not gonna lie, I burst out laughing when he pretended to go in for a kiss only to set her hair on fire. It was such a cheap but clever move, realistic to. I know the show is setting up a Nidaime and Benten end game but I hope that doesn't happen. He said "You're so much like her" why would he want to end up with some one that resembles his ex? It's kinda creepy and way to predictable. |
