| Usopp's past was sort of over the top dramatic, but every now and again I see just a hint of what apparently makes this series so great. It must be doing something right, when I've already watched 17 episodes within 2 days... though. But, holy crap, I didn't think this arc was ever going to end. Specifically the unnecessarily long "battle" between Luffy and Kuro. They barely even freaking fought. |

| This arc was dragged out, but I enjoyed the it's ending and the storytelling was superb. |

| Damn that ark was too long, and it's not like I could stop watching it once I started! I felt like it was a bit too heavy on the emotional sentiment and childhood flashbacks, but still pretty darn good. |

| A bit of a disappointment in this one. I actually expected something more from Kurahadol, after several episodes the defeat was so sudden. On the other hand, I liked the whole backstory with Usopp, the kids and the town, but it is overexposed to the point I wanted it to finish. It ended with a very nice note with that story about Usopp's parents and the scenes at the new ship are so lovely, but the speech on ambitions was sort of ridiculous and stretched. The part with Jango was quite funny, though, but the fate of this character is not really clear (does he actually die? Or he just fainted? He didn't run away with the rest of the crew after all). It's maybe the worst episode of these first 17, and it's fairly decent in spite of its flaws, so I am satisfied with what I have been watching so far. |
| ^it depends what character you like for example i Love every episode about Usopp.. so ep 17 (especially with his childhood, and his speech was good for me... so its about tastes. next is Sanji (he'll have a better arc/story) you'll like it more thats where it gets more interesting (then Nami arc).. just keep watching.. first 30 eps. are average.. then it gets waay more better |

And his backstory is very nice, what I didn't like is how it was exposed at some times during this arc. |
| I like how Usopp's ex-crew kept up his tradition. Brought a smile to my face. I'm one of those people who like Usopp, but he isn't my favorite. He's next to my least favorite, only above Nami. It isn't that I dislike him, it's just that he's too whiny, plus he's so weak that I can't take his actions seriously (and this is a shounen, where power is necessary). Plus, he's too sexy. Look at him.  |

But I think this is what makes him interesting, actually. He is not overpowered, he has to start from the ground level (unlike Luffy and Zoro), therefore making his development through the whole adventure more interesting, in my opinion. On other things, lol at me saying that Jango could be dead. Oh, dear innocence. |

| Episode 17 :3 Luffy vs Captain Kuro ended in Luffy's win, Captain Kuro before being knocked up his life flashed around until the last thing he thought of was Kaya which means he in end had developed some feelings for her in contradiction to what he claimed :3 Usopp saves Kaya and decides to become a pirate thus disbanding his pirate crew in a emotional way TwT Going Merry <3 Usopp, the newest member of the Straw Hats :3 |
