THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Whoa, I got some nostalgia from the episode just seeing the Lenalee flashbacks.

Glad to see the exorcists fight back a bit although I think they are still struggling. It's sad to see the former Third exorcists fighting on the Noah's side. Is it also just me or did they get stronger too?

I hope BDs will remove some of the censors to make the action segments more fluid although was still decent. Nice to see Lenalee fighting again. The Allen and Lenalee embrace too :3

So, next week is 206~208. Nice, I was afraid they'd remove the flashback.
Also, didn't notice the continuation error there

Although I haven't seen the episode yet, I don't see anything surprising in the Thirds getting stronger under the Noah command, since their Dark Matter abilities come from the Earl himself, and he must've made several upgrades to make them even stronger as his pawns. The Black Order was unable to develop their abilities properly, since the Dark Matter is technically the tool of its archenemy.

I'm going to miss this show again when it ends next week. And we won't ever get a sequel since the author is very slow on doing the releases due to her change in releases. Sigh.

To other manga readers, when Renny says "Do you think that appeared?" in the episode they mean
I mean, it should be obvious but it still made me wonder. Don't think it's a spoiler, but I'll spoil it anyway.

Sad episode. :( Nothing stops the feels does it? :(

Really heartbreaking to see Allen being called the real monster and the one responsible for all destruction, It's not like he asked for any of this. Strangely enough Bookman's old name for him 'The Destroyer of Time' fits into this scenario.

It's always amazing to see how that one single line "Don't stop.. Keep Walking" gives Allen so much strength to move forward no matter what happens, I've always found that kind of inspiring. The strength to move forward no matter the odds.

Allen x Timcampy forever. XD

The farewell scene with Lenalee was well done, OST for both Allen's monologues and the farewell were great. If I'm not wrong they played the instrumental versions of The Musician and Lotus Pain.

Sad to see Allen leave the order and the fact that the show will end next week. Would be nice if the author could release faster, That way we might get a sequel anime sooner. I guess I'll just keep hoping for a 2020 sequel or something.

So its pretty much set in stone that this will end on THAT scnee in 208 which is fitting.

NOt much to say about this. I still find a lot of this adaptation to be very flawed, but alas at least it exists and at least it was not as bad as Berserk.

Can't wait for next week to see if they do the end of this a justice.

Wow no doubt my favorite episode of Hallow so far. Only covered 1 chapter (205) much to my surprise, but would have been lame as hell if they had the scene of Allen leaving in the middle of an episode. I believe those scenes of the exorcists fighting were filler but they were a good added touch. I don't think that scene of Kamui telling Lenalee to find the fourteenth was in the manga either, pretty unnecessary though made Kamui look more like a dick than he probably really is. Really like what Tyki and Road said to Allen this episode, pretty well done. And wow the OST during that last scene was great, got hyped when I heard an instrumental version of Lotus Pain starting to play there. Last episode next week! This adaptation has been great in my opinion, really have zero reason to think it's inferior to the last DGM anime, very impressive how much it feels like a direct adaptation with an entirely different staff. Really glad this sequel was made.

I was a bit afraid that the episode would cut off at the scene where Leena Lee asks Allen where he's going but thankfully we got to see the hug in this weeks episode, literally the part i was most looking forward to. Justice was done!

Anyways the feels in this episode, i hate how people that know Allen well enough to know that he's a good guy dont belive in him anymore, pisses me off.

Well, I should say that the animation of the fighing scenes in this season seems to be quite awful, even in the end, but it doesn't change the fact the episode was pretty well-made. However, I gave some doubts about the need of prolonging the episode that much, since it was just 1 chapter, although I should admit that the Thirds' attack and Tokusa's devastating words to Lenalee turned out to be very dramatic. But overall, it's a nice episode which didn't seem to be such in the beginning, but several impressive scenes in the middle and in the end (Tyki telling Allen he's creating a chaos everywhere; Tokusa convincing Lenalee to give up on him; Road's last words before vanishing; and finally Allen's parting with Lenalee) finally made it such.

I'm a bit dissapointed since it seemingly won't be the ending I imaginged for the season, but still I'd like to see it anyway.

Manga is nowhere near close to being finished, so calling it "final season" is unlikely.

Dang it, I was hoping they'd put a little more into the Lenalee bit at the end. Felt a little weak, at least the visuals, felt like being animated could have achieve more. Though just glad to see it was adapted pretty spot on panel to panel wise. At least that part anyways.

All the random filler fodder akumas annoyed me but I guess they had to drag out the episode somehow. What bothered me is they did that but skipped a scene in the chapter. (The last bit with Zhu and the director wasn't animated.)

Next episodes probably gonna be flashback heavy if still following the manga. Not my favorite way of ending a anime.

A lot of questions still on my mind (Read up to Chap 190 of the manga so far).
Is Cross, Link, and Road dead? Well. Road is a Noah, she will reincarnate if she did die in this episode.

I always loved Tyki and Allen's interactions. I missed that a lot. Also the Lenalee flashbacks brought back a lot of joyful memories.

I don't think Klaud Nine (Female General) talked much or even at all this entire season and as soon as I heard her voice, I wanted to mute her. Same with Krory, he sounds way too much like Sasuke than anything else. Which is sad cause Sugiyama can play other roles/styles where it's hard to tell if he's Sasuke or not.

With Sugiyama as Krory, I constantly thought he was gonna scream "Naruto! Chidori! VENGEANCE BLAH ! SHUT UP SAKURA"

That final scene with Allen and Lenalee was brief and a little sad, but I thought it could've been done WAY better and lasted a little longer. I wished they added a lot of flashbacks with Lenalee/Allen moments in this scene as well.

Anyways, final episode next week. As much as I don't like all the changes that were made in this series, I still enjoy D. Gray-man a lot and don't want it to go.

...I don't want it to go because I fear it's going to be gone for another 7-8 years again.

Don't open this if you don't wanna be spoiled...obviously. I'm leaving this here for everyone else who saw your post and wonders the same thing. I agree you should read it still and you're not that that far behind. Even some chapters later are actually really short, like 15-17 pages shorter, if memory serves me right.

there were few differences in the dialogue from Manga in this episode like...

1) Komui never addressed Allen as 14th, He only ordered Allen to be brought back. Since they didn't knew Allen's intentions, they only wanted to bring him back.

2) Allen never said to Tim that he can't take him along since he is too big. He just asked him if he can become a bit smaller.

3) After using ark for last time, his thoughts were... "I'll never ask Ark for the help again. from here on, Not from Noah, Not from Order..." but in anime his thoughts became like.. "This time will be last time I'll have help from Ark...from here on, neither noah, nor the order will.... "

4) His parting message to Lenalee were ...." I love.......you and everyone else at the order...my true home" but in anime " I love the order where you and everyone else are...Its my home"

It may be because of English translations but I felt the meaning of Dialogue different from what manga delivered and what Anime adapted into.

I think it's just the matter of translation, but the words must be the same, maybe except Allen's words to Tim (to become smaller/you're too large to take with sound like completely different statements).
Besides, am I the only one who noticed several manga (chapter 205) moments cut out from the episode

I liked the episode very much. The series, while not being perfect, is reedeming itself a bit after the hit or miss the Alma Karma arc was.

The farewell scene between Allen and Lenalee was as good as the manga, if anything, I would wish they would made it a bit longer and showing flashbacks of their moments together, but it was fine nonetheless.
Btw, seeing Lenalee with her twintails agian was very nostalgic...

On another note, I swear the scene with the fight against the Third Exorcists wasn't that long in the manga. If it was an idea of the studio, I liked it, since it made the episode more entertaining.

Only one episode left, and it seems it will adapt Allen's flashback with Cross... Wonder if that episode will end in the point I believe it will end.

I don't know the final scene where allen tell Lenalee that he love all of them wasn't really done properly.

in the manga first he says he loves Lenelee, causing the shipping to accel, then he goes on to say he loves everybody else.I thought the manga version was better.

Those flashbacks though.. bring so much feels to me.
I believe that the parting scene between Allen and Lenalee could have been better but it still decent. Anyway, it was kinda nice to see the other Exorcists fought against the Akuma and Thirds much longer since they didn't have much screen time throughout this season.

I'm excited and sad at the same time for Hallow to end next week since DGM is one of my fav manga/anime. Hope the ending for this season is good.

Damn, not only was this a sad(yet brilliantly executed ep), but like, seeing Allen walk off like that felt like as much of a goodbye(albeit an early one since we got 1 more ep) as the D.Gray Man saying goodbye to it's fans. I haven't read the manga much, since I heard the anime was coming out but I know there's no more chapters to make another series of, and they come out at a snail's pace too, so...even if it's not a permanent goodbye, it's gonna be a damn long time before we'll see anything again, and who knows what can happen during that time.

The only hope would be for the series to sell well, as well as boost the manga sales so that Hoshino will start focusing on it more and release chapters way more often, say once a week.

Lenalee: Allen-kun!

Meanwhile in the same forest...

*Sasuke runs from Konoha*
Naruto: Sasuke! Come back!

Sorry couldn't help myself. Just had to picture Sasuke and Allen running past eachother in opposite directions. I thought the end scene was great, I could feel my throat clam up from sadness at Allen leaving. Oh...Poor Allen...

I think this episode had everything. A fair amount of action. Touching scenes. Words of wisdom from Tyki. Words of despair from Tokusa. Angry words from Chaoji (Whose only been in the anime for what? 5 minutes?)

All in all. I loved this episode and I can't wait for the next one.

The nostalgia feeling is really strong with those flasback. Not only that, the exorcist vs akuma also shows how the exorcist has grown so much, especially Lenalee and Krory. Those Akuma and giant akuma brings back the old day as well.
General Sokaro goes rampage in this epsiode actually made my day. those Sokaro moment were beast, especially Sokaro vs Madarao(short but cool). This is what I think episode 8 is missing, the actions, especially from other exorcist side.(Although manga not show, but would have like anime to add some.
General Cloud voice is the weirdest choice so far. Totally unfit IMO.
While there are some obvious budget saving scene, its still a pretty great episode with the addition scene added by the anime staff.
The Road disappear scene not too bad but could have been better.
The Allen and Lenalee farewell scene hits me, although also could have been better but no complain.

Didn't expect chapter 206 gonna be adapted. Next episode most likely end either chpater 208 or 209(probably a better ending to tease people read manga for next arc). Time flies as we are reaching the final episode next week.
