| As a French teacher for foreigners, I got some Japanese students few years ago. Going to France is a huge culture shock for them since they idealize my country, thinking there is only the 'Romantic Paris'. At the time I got Japanese students, I heard about a new Japanese student who got so shocked by how France truly was that he got psychologically sick, I forgot the sickness' name. Few months ago, I met a Japanese guy while traveling and he told me about his knowledge regarding French movies and literature, it was very interesting ! In my current work (As university student), I am interested in those views about France, but I don't get interested in Japan. | I don't know i find it sad because some foreign neighborhoods get too big while the culture and people that were there get smaller and smaller making way for all this African's and Muslims. From the way I see it they helped us in the past during times of need and were even welcomed, I don't mind. Though I do care about the native culture dying out thanks to all the other cultures springing up. not to be that guy but excessive multiculturalism really makes it harder for minds unless they're sophisticated enough to accommodate to anything point: live in a medium sized city in america, plenty of cultures have developed communities here, that's just about enough to be tolerant enough. having too many would be a chore as a result. my home country's largest cities are ethnically homogeneous through and through there's nothing wrong with being selectively tolerant, if anything that's how it really should be if anything, living in a big european city would be a pain in the ass tbh, i'd be treated like a baby for my ethnicity because thats what the "tolerant left" tends to do @_@ |
