If he has a lot of friends, it probably means he just forgets your username since he sends so many. |

setsuna could be my favorite game this year so far if it has a good enough pay off, im pretty invested in the atmosphere and the character setsuna so far, theres a really bittersweet feeling the entire game knowing that the more you progress the closer you are to setsuna sacrificing herself, i am kind of hoping some way out of the catch 22 arrives before then. |

I'm enjoying the story quite a bit but so far the game (not necessarily the story) lacks that detail to make it something more special (though I do hope the story introduces some plot twists here and there). I think Trails in the Sky really spoiled me on this one but I love seeing time progress, in I am Setsuna I feel like 4 days tops have passed and I might be halfway through already. It's that sort of stuff that most games lack that really adds a lot to them. World isn't that lively either, I dunno, it just doesn't feel that polished, but like I said, Trails just did the adventure portion of the game so well that it's unfair to compare it to most stuff really. |

Again ill probably replay it sometime and admittedly i remember jack shit about the game but that kind of also leads to why i say i thought it was forgettable cause....well i forgot it. I quite enjoyed cold steel though ive yet to finish it and it definetly wasnt anything more than just a good ride unfortunately held back by alot of tropes of the schlockier kind but i enjoyed it nonetheless. |

JizzyHitler said: It's not a series for everyone really, it's true the text can be pretty lengthy and not much happens but it's such a well put together game and adventure. It just really has that down to earth chill adventure feel that you just don't find everywhere else, I personally love that stuff. And like, the school arc in the first game is still one of the most memorable and favorite arcs in JRPGs, it was just so well timed and such a nice breather after all the action prior and it had such strong characters, by the end of I really felt sad that that bit of the game wasn't longer because I wanted to spend more time with that set of characters. Paulo27 said: i think a large part of that comes from how small the team was (only 10 people) but yeah i do think there is a lack of polish in some areas mainly dungeon design, i think the empty world has alot to do with the fact that the world is dying though due to the monsters evolving due to the failed sacrifice.JizzyHitler said: setsuna could be my favorite game this year so far if it has a good enough pay off, im pretty invested in the atmosphere and the character setsuna so far, theres a really bittersweet feeling the entire game knowing that the more you progress the closer you are to setsuna sacrificing herself, i am kind of hoping some way out of the catch 22 arrives before then. Which is something else I think Trails excels at, putting you through all these big events and fights and then really lets you breath, not just by telling you to travel to the next town and start the cycle again, it throws you a couple of not so important events and character interactions to really make it feel like the characters have lives outside of fighting, and the school arc made the MCs feel especially alive with their interaction with the others. I do see how many people would end up considering it too slow paced or even just boring though. And I haven't played Cold Steel, but honestly, it just screams light novel lol, but I actually don't know much about it apart from that, the second game there is meant to be better though from what I heard and there's already a third planned so, poor us still don't have a complete arc from start to finish lol. Hopefully the third game of Trails in the Sky comes soon so I can marathon the whole thing. |

Well shit, I asked for a plot twist in I am Setsuna and I guess that counts as one. I'm not really sure about Nidr's character now though lol, sure he didn't know he had a daughter (I guessed it was that right away) but still he never went back home for 20 years to marry his bride? The hell man. And his wife then went on to do spoilers stuff without him ever knowing or helping? Double the hell man. And thinking about it, not sure why Setsuna doesn't remember her mom, she should have been like 7 when she died (I think her mom was a sacrifice too so minus some 11 years her current age is good, but maybe I'm mixing that up and her mom wasn't one?), plenty of time to remember there. |
