THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
This episode was weird..a bit more insight on the seven deadly sins coming from Noriko's point of view.

The mission itself also has connection about Honoka...
I kinda feel bad for the media attention she's been getting around school. I think the Kiznaiver system really affected her mental being as well.

The memory showing the megane girl with that girl who died.

The feeling shared is explained, and the association left the group behind. The girl pretends to be Fushigi-kei is like megane girl's friend? The government wants to stop the experiment because of the media, but she continues to progress it, and next target is the megane girl?

Oh, so the offer she keeps denying was movie adaptation of her work with documentary movie. Womanizer guy not only saved her, he is curious about her pain and figured out she was a part of the two-person mangaka of the manga. The mission accomplished quick enough because the media touched her pain. Wow, a strong word from KajiKaji's character to the mysterious girl, who plays piano, too.

Quite the emotional episode for Honoka :(

I'm very curious to see the full extent of her past and the conclusion of her little arc

Shows like these show me again that characters are more important than a plot. Characterization, development and the relations between them are great to watch.

Maki x Yuta needs to happen now.

Maki's past time. So what, did her friend commit suicide? Guess we'll see next week. Surprisingly sick burn Katsuhira gave Noriko at the end there, I liked that.

This is why the plot doesn't bother me at all like it does with others here

Clearly they're going for a character driven plot and imo it's working really well because of how emotionally invested they're making you into these characters

I am not sure if I missed something but since when did the Kiznaivers begin sharing emotional pain? From episode 1-4, they have only shared physical pain and all of sudden in episode 5, emotional pain gets randomly introduced? Why didn't the Kiznaivers feel any emotional pain prior to Takishiro's confrontation with the Katsuhira's bullies in episode 5? I mean Takishiro cried over Katsuhira towards the end of episode 2 when they were on the crane and Maki saw (maybe hallucinated) Ruru's corpse in episode 2; both of these events obviously caused intense emotional pain to both characters but the Kiznaivers that were supposed to also feel the pain didn't react to it at all? Did Sonozaki change up the pain-sharing system to something where everyone is not only bound by physical but also emotional pain in episode 5 that I didn't catch on? I am really confused right now as this seems like a really big plothole.

Sonozaki keeps mentioning that their bond is becoming deeper, as such I suspect that feeling emotional pain and then gradually feeling more of it is a direct result of them becoming closer and their bond strengthening.

Oh, I see. So there is basically a direct correlation between the strengthening of bonds between characters and the amount of emotional pain that they share. The reason to why they didn't share the emotional pain of one another in the first couple of episodes is because their bond at that point wasn't strong enough yet, thus limiting the pain that is shared to only physical pain. However, as time goes on, the characters begin to know each other better, and they start to feel not only the physical pain of one another but also the emotional pain. That also explains why Sonozaki stated in this episode that once their bond becomes strong enough, they can even read each other's minds. Thanks for clearing this up!

Good episode. Honoka's background looks well-portrayed. The rest of the members are gradually becoming used to feeling the emotional pain of others, and it was great seeing Katsuhira talk like that to Sonozaki at the end.

That friend of Maki, somehow remind me of Nico.
It also now can share the pain of a feeling? Well, that's convenient, for now. This episode is bringing more info about Maki and her life, and some with Yuuta too.

What is this new sin, The Forgetful Priss? Could there be another Kiznaiver that has yet to be introduced? Any speculations?

Also, what is Sonozaki injecting her arm?!??! O_O Could it be morphine?

Pretty good episode.

I'm quite interested in Maki's story and circumstances. Ruru was suicidal so I wouldn't be surprised if she actually did commit one.
Yuto is actually quite the nice guy.

Not sure what this 'Forgetful Priss' sin is, Can anyone give me a little insight on what it's supposed to be?

That Dbz Saibaman reference XD

Felt sad for Maki when Nico quoted that if it weren't for the feeling-sharing she would have felt the pain 7 times more. :(

It'd be cool if Sonozaki turned out to be the forgetful priss since Katsuhira is trying so hard to connect with her.

You think the Maki's manga might give some underlying reasons / explanations about the relationship between Honoka and Ruru? Looking at the line about her not minding to be broken and all.

Well it was much better than last week's. At least I could take the plot here a bit more seriously. Really good one.

Although, is this show trying to be episodic? Or is it one of those things that start off episodic but gradually gains a general plot later on? I've been seeing a shit ton of the latter in recent seasons.

Best episode so far, given that it was really easy to take seriously compared to anything so far. And considering the focus was on Maki, that certainly caught me by surprise as she's been my least favourite Kiznaiver other than that masochist guy. And what was Sonozaki injecting herself with?

It looks like Maki had a pretty sad past, which we'll learn more about next episode. I think her break down when all those cameras surrounded her is also a testament to how painful it was to lose her friend.

I want to know more about this Forgetful Priss thing that Sonozaki mentioned, it sounds interesting. Also, Sonozaki injecting that syringe into her arm makes me think she might have some sort of illness so hopefully we get some information on that soon.....

Great episode, Maki's backstory's been teased since episode 2 and I love the fact that they're spreading it across multiple episodes. Can't wait to see how this plays out and how she'll end up changing or maybe even bonding with the others.

Impressive visuals too

Chidori got jealous when Katsuhira called Noriko "Nori-chan." Guess she still had feeling for him.
Maki's past...her middle school friend is an ass then?
I want to see Noriko expression when Katsuhira say that he is disappointed in her since when he say it, she kind of flinch.

I can't say I've been particularly enjoying this series this far. It's not bad, but nothing about it really stood out to me. The last scene in this episode though. You'd think the rest of the episode would have more of an impact, but the last scene really hit the nail on the head in almost every aspect. The contents of this episode felt forced, but the final scene felt like a culmination of every other episode.

I really liked this episode. Don't know if it's just me, but it seems to be implying that Maki's friend was in love with her, but Maki didn't reciprocate and it led to her killing herself.
