 How long does it take you to come up with a username and do you ever get your first choice? I usually get my first choice of username, because my usernames usually come from relatively unknown fandoms (this one is a Kingkiller Chronicle reference. "Quoyan" is from a language within the book and means "wind") or are referencing dumb in-jokes with close friends (like one of my gaming handles, BroccoliPrince) How often do you change your username and what are some of your previous ones I don't, really. I'm very picky about the usernames I choose and very very rarely feel the need to change them Are there any usernames on MAL that you like a lot? Of course I love @OatGoblin, @Moog has a nice ring to it and frankly I think @Dawn and @Dusk have the best usernames ever. @cumshotz always makes me chuckle slightly although I'm surprised that name is even allowed :') Edit: this thread made me want to change my username. I realize I'm not a creative person so I just go with what's available and something easy to remember - Only changed once in MAL. I think the best usernames are the ones that come arbitrarily without an effort to sound good or unique. | Since I started using internet forums, I've used BatoKusanagi. Haven't used any others. For videogames and the like, I just come up with something random (amateur writer here, so it's not that hard for me), or use something from a book I've read or a movie I've watched. |

| It takes me awhile to come up with a good username, but they are usually puns or a combination of two words (I always wanted to use the name Rekkatana.) My original name was Gintokyo (a combination of Gintoki from Gintama and Tokyo), but I changed it because I thought it sounded dumb. Malkshake comes from a YouTube skit called Malk. As for my personal favorites are Mayukachan and Introverturtle. |
| I like to come up with "fancy" names so I'll take awhile to come up with a "unique" name. I rarely change my username because of how long I'll take to come up with one which is one reason why I still have a trashy name such as Txunere.. :c And having my friends recognize me as my new alias sounds like a pain so I try to make their life's easier too. <3 |

| I was eating Salad, at the time I was thinking about my name, so I decided to go with it. As you can see, my creativity is non-existent. I have changed it a few times before, although most were variations of Salad. But I was also called Uhh, because it felt really catchy and because a friend wanted to do matching names. My favourite name on MAL is probably @tit . I really like @traed as well though. Some in this thread are pretty good as well. |

When I signed up for this site, I automatically thought, "that would be such a punny dope username." | I am kind of inbetween thought for them being easy and hard. Most of my good ones just come on the spot (one I would consider to be good at least). I actually came up with FrostedSunshine because I hadn't slept for two days, it was 3 in the morning and I though 'haha, you know, FrostedSunshine would be a good name. Its a contraction... | I only hate making usernames when applying for a job because then you have to do an extra step just to apply for the job. otherwise I like making them because they have personal meaning to me or I like the sound of them. I get the first choice most of the time, usually you just have to make sure it's not super generic. I don't change my username often although I have before online. off the top of my head, I like the username cookies because I think it's really cute. |

When I initially came up with my usernames, I was just thinking of the most facetious words I could to mash together, because I don't want anyone on any site or gaming platform ever taking me seriously, because 85% (percentage pulled from my ass) of the time, I'm not taking anything on forums or online games seriously, even when I'm supposedly "angry" or arguing with someone, I'm usually having fun with it. I don't see myself ever changing my MAL username, I don't really have a reason to since it isn't something God awful like my PSN account I made when I was 14-15. If PSN ever give the option to change usernames, even if the cost to do so is £100, I'm doing it; it's literally the only active username I have currently that I despise. As for usernames on this site, I've seen quite a lot of good ones. My personal favourite is @ThrashMatto though, of course. |

| For years i only used "targa" , "targaK" or things like that if "targa" was taken. I came up with the name after i read A song of ice and fire a while ago and liked the targaryen name.So i called myself targaryen.But it was a long name so people start calling me targa cause it means stretcher in romanian. |
