Much better than season 1. While I personally think this franchise seems by the numbers and generic, I have to say, I certainly enjoyed this season. Things were intense and dramatic, development was had, and the dealings in the shadows finally came to a head, despite us actually getting any kind of explanation as to why and what was happening exactly.

The action was really stellar this time around too.

The lines have been blurred, new alliances have been made, new players have entered the game, and some old ones may be out for good. I like it. I wouldn't mind seeing a third season soon.

Well it's finally over. I have a hard time deciding if this season is better than the first one. There's one thing that I really like from this season : someone finally put Shinoa straight. She annoys me the most during the course of season one up until the part before the Nagoya mission. Thanks, Guren. Another thing I like is Shinya's character. The sane man. I love him.

Too bad Mika lost his pretty blue eyes :( If there's a season three (which I highly doubt there will be), I hope the blue eyes come back XD

Anyway is Shinya ok? I hope he's ok man I mean everyone is kinda doing alright but like all that matters is Shinya rn ;_;

Hmm. I can tell this was rushed since it includes content the manga isn't up to yet. I feel like since they didn't want an original anime ending, but they still wanted to give it some kind of resolution in the last episode, they tried to cram the rest of the arc into only half an ep, which really didn't do it justice.

Still, I was able to basically understand what was going on, and it was all very dramatic. I enjoyed the action, and the last scene was cute. I'm glad the group is all together now. Unfortunately, the anime won't continue for at least another year and a half...gotta read the manga, then.

The Fight at the airport was great but as not great as in the manga, the animated version should gave us more visualitation of what being written in the manga but the manga version is better, focken ironic.

I hope Krul didn't die, not the loli vampire queen please. I'm glad now Mika joined Yuu and the others more family members yaaay. We still didn't get to see the head of Hiragi family so i guess there's gonna be a 3rd season, hopefully, there's gotta be a 3rd season, because things are about to get down and interesting.

Overall score 9/10

King of Salt? That's unique. I wonder what the first trumpet is... Maybe King of Weed? Jk..
Awesome action filled with clusterfuck of sided antagonist. This ain't triangle relay anymore.

Too many species already, human, vampire, demon, angel.... King? Half-demon? Ohh and livestock.

Abaddon is weak af. Demon of Destruction? More like Demon of Disappointment. Yuu rekt it emotionless, you know he gonna bake some cake.

Krul is dead? Pls no..
5/5 I don't even know anymore.

Funny, for a show with the title "the end" in it, there seems to be none in sight. It's disappointing because I'd really like to see what happens next, but judging from the source it doesn't look like another season will be happening anytime soon assuming it did well enough to warrant one.

Well working with what they did offer, this final episode certainly did become messy. Not in a bad way though, the chaotic nature of it kept me glued. The fights and action are high grade like always and it seems like more intrigues have cropped up now. The one thing I noticed was the reference to trumpets and angels, so presumably I'm guessing that each Seraph is represented by one. The body count really shot up in these last couple of episodes. I was sooo hoping Krul wouldn't die. Part of it could have been because goth lolis, but it seemed like her motives were the least malicious among the vampires. And to think she had to die to that smug bastard Ferid. He always finds ways to infuriate me. But I can't completely hold it against the fella, he was just way too amusing when he wasn't decapitating little girls.

Really my only complaint with this episode is the lack of closure. And then as if to add insult to injury the cliffhanger makes me want to watch it even more than when I ended season 1.

As for Owari no Seraph as a whole, it definitely felt like this sequel was a step up from season 1. The pacing was better, the execution didn't feel quite as awkward (although just as generic), and it just packed a bigger adrenaline rush overall. And the ost, as always, was top notch. I do have mixed feelings, however, as there were some things that didn't add up for me.

Although the main gang definitely grew on me, it got exhausting with the constant "family this family that" themes and motives. Yuu in particular felt like a walking contradiction as one moment he would show signs of maturing and the next he'd become as though he didn't learn a thing. It also felt like him establishing a friendship with Ashura amounted to nothing as all of their future interactions were rinse and repeat "I have to save family! Give me your power! I'll become a monster for my family! (Passes out and has to retreat)." I guess that is something to keep in mind though, that humans often do get irrational when we want to protect someone.

There was also the matter of teamwork. I really like how they started to emphasize that in this season, as though they were going to lay down the law that recklessness was no longer welcome. But after the raid no Nagoya, it felt like that went out the window as well.

Despite my long winded rants, I still did indeed enjoy Owari no Seraph. The setting along with its concepts could have been better utilized. It was just screaming "seen this before" at many junctions. And it felt like a broken record highlighting family ties. But it was a fun ride and this is the first show I've sat down and binge watched in months.

7/10 for season 1
7.5/10 for season 2

da hell!?!?!? everything is messed-up on this last episode!
at least the animation wherein Seraph mode Hyakuya Yuu spears down the Angel was awesome!
Krul was betrayed by Ferid of course.
Dark possessed Guren was a bit badass but evil.
Mika as usual "you're my only family" gayness words
So there are several trumpets? who is the strongest trumpet??!?
4/5.
7/10.

Yeah I rated it the same. Either average or slightly above average show to me. The characters in particular were disappointing. Overall premise of the plot was intriguing but putrid execution though, feels like they didn't really accomplish anything besides getting Mika on their side.

WTF was that O_o Clusterfuck is indeed the best way to describe it. Still enjoyed it quite a lot lol

Only thing I'm friggin pissed off about is Krul's fate being a mystery. PLZ BE OK MY CUTE VAMPIRE QUEEN >.<!! F*** U FERID!! I hope she'll be alright and join up with Yu's group later on. Loved the way she owned Crowley. Wow thought that guy was undefeatable but she REKT him.

Guren being what he was is probably my most WTF is happening in this ep. I mean really what's up with him and Shinya seemed to realize something about him being possessed after seeing his personality up close. Is it related to Mahiru? I'm actually a bit tempted to read the LNs now but I don't have time. Any LN reader kind enough to write a summary of some Mahiru related stuff and if this personality is explained in the LN? His tears do give some hope for Yu tho I guess. Don't mind spoilers btw

I wonder what's gonna happen to Mirai from now on. And why was Kimizuki just ok with leaving her? Does he think now that the angel is deactivated she won't be in danger? If I were him I'd be scared for my sister that they'll either discard of her since she's useless now or go back to experimenting on her. Definitely wouldn't leave her. Killing her might be better even :/

Yu Salt king mode was pretty cool visually and stuff. Liked how he owned that Kureto bitch. Good job Asuramaru turning him back. WTF was up with the ending tho? "It's raining" Wha-?

Overall loved this season way more than S1. Was gonna give it a comfortable 8/10 last week now, I guess I'll leave it as an 8 but it's shaky. I'll see how stuff go in the manga and decide on that.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

As a standalone, it was pretty pointless since the story barley moved but is far from conclusion, and since there was no teaser for a next season, I'm sure there won't be one. Time to put it with the same bag as the rest mediocre and forgettable stuff.

Is it just me or things are so damn complicated in this show, for instance, what is the Owari no Seraph? What's the real purpose behind it? Where did angels and demons come from? What did Krul gain from betraying the vampires? This show is like a bandle of unexplained information.....damn it I really wanted this show to be an epic one.

While the overall action in this last episode was pretty good, the ending and time jump was a bit out of place in my opinion.

In general this season was a bit weaker in my opinion but was still pretty decent! I do wonder what we'll see in the ova's but in general a good second season!

So they summon an Angel who then summons a Demon to... destroy everything I guess. I'd like to know more about these angels and where they come from (same with demons).

King of Salt is an interesting title for a demon I must say. I really liked Abaddon's design, especially the creepy mini-ones but alas his reign was short-lived.

Ferid finally turning on Krul was unexpected at that point in time but it was going to happen without a doubt so not to surprising. It looks like Krul got transformed at the end since it looks like she has part of Ferid's hair color in her (if that was Krul I was seeing).

Kimizuki's actions didn't make a lot of sense. He stays behind to save his sister but then says; "it's fine for now, I'll get her later." Where did your zeal for rescuing her go?

For all you know they could put her in for more experiments while you run away! She might even be dead, there's no guarantee her body would even survive the angel inside of her and the experimentation on top of that.

Well whatever. I'm glad Mika is at peace with the Shinoa squad. He's still a bit rough around the edges but after 4 months I'd like to think he's softened up to them.

In regards to Guren, I really don't understand his motivations but I do like the part where he was crying while Yu was talking about family. Overall, as far as endings go, this was enjoyable to watch but doesn't explain a lot.

Also Yu's last line is another puzzler; "it's going to rain soon". Hmm okay then Yu. Thanks for the weather forecast!

I think a lot of people are misunderstanding the situation with Kimizuki. At the time, his sister was an Angel and then a demon. His goal, as bleak as it seemed, was to try and get her back to being a human. When Yu released her of her powers, Kimizuki's goal ended. Sure, he wants his sister back but he knows they wont do anything to her. Just because she was defeated doesn't mean she's useless. She's like Yu and her powers can be used again. The difference being she apparently requires a substantial amount of blood before activating her Angel and Demon forms. There's no way they're gonna dispose of her just because she failed and Kimizuki knows that which is why he was ok with bailing on her in order to heal up enough to save her before they attempt to use her again.

As for Krul betraying anyone...I thought it was the other way around. She purposely took out the Hyakua Sect to prevent the Seraph gene from being experimented on any further. Ferid was the one giving the humans information on Demons and Vampires so humans could pick up on perfecting the Seraph of the End. Ferid knocked Krul out and pinned his own betrayal on her so the rest would take his side. I'm guessing he has some deal with the humans that would allow him to be the only Vampire king in return for the information and helping the humans kill off the rest of the Vampire royalty. This is only speculation but I believe Krul knows all this and allowed Ferid to suck her blood and knock her out at the end because she has a plan. This would explain why Mika was ok with leaving her for "dead".

As for Yu's new King of Salt Title. I have a feeling he is now juggling between 2 or 3 personalities. When his demon wakes up she'll poses him preventing his Angel form from consuming him but taking his control away. When she's a sleep he's a mix of human and angle. I can only guess that over time his human side will lose to the Angel and he will eventually become the full Seraph of the End - King of Salt. Not sure what will happen to his demon...possibly be consumed or restrained if she's asleep I guess.

What I find more interesting is when and if the other Seraphs will show their powers. Almost everyone in Yu's group has the Seraph gene including Mika. A Vampire Angel would be pretty sweet considering Yu is somewhat of a Demon Angel.

Well since the anime's ahead of the manga I'll have to make some guesses for why some things happened.

-Why was Yuu suddenly back to normal even after turning full demon? Maybe Asuramaru "possessed" his angel side to control it, and as a side effect he has to sleep for a certain amount of time (reminds me of Migi from Parasyte).

-WHY are the evil humans suddenly stationed in Sanguinem? Something something vampires and humans plotting together? Hopefully all of these hidden agendas will be revealed if we get another season.

-Loved that Mika was just another member of the team and that they all kinda "ran away" together xD So nice to finally see him out of that vamp suit. Although I wasn't expecting Narumi to join the team as well.

-Yuu scared me when he started walking out into the water. I thought he got possessed by the seraph again or something :U His mention of it about to rain mean that it's gonna be a sad season 3 if we get one, or was there some symbolism I missed?

-All in all, a good way to wrap up this season - either permanently or until we get season 3. A lot of loose ends may be left untied, but at least some of the most important ones were tied nicely (specifically Yuu and Mika aren't separated anymore and Mika's a part of the whole "family" now).

-That blood sacrifice for the experiment was so BRUTAL. My god. No wonder Mika has trust issues with humans.

-The demon that came out of Mirai's back gave me some Alien: Isolation PTSD e-e

-Also, Yuu in Seraph mode was so BA! Dangggggg season 3 is gonna be so good if he learns to use that ability regularly!

The episode was really good throughout but I felt like it didn't really pack a punch at the end like I was expecting, felt a bit rushed too. Possessed Guren was good and Yuu angel was cool too. Seeing the survivor group at the end was nice as was the fact that somehow both the humans and vampires have re-established their bases - though now humans are underground and vampires above ground? Also, what happened to Shinya? I liked him. And the ending is definitely open ended enough that there can be more seasons but still finished the main storyline from seasons 1 and 2, so that's yet to be seen what happens.

Overall I liked season 2 more, more action, more deaths, less brattiness from the characters. Still had good animation and OST. 7.5/10, maybe an 8. Would be interested to see a season 3, but considering the manga apparently is only one or two issues ahead of this, I wouldn't expect it anytime soon.

A rather unacceptable amount of unanswered questions to leave off like this, and the episode was a chaotic mess that didn't explain anything. The action was good though, and it was nice to see Mika being a part of the group. So, Kureto's slaughtering of the soldiers in the previous episode was a blood sacrifice to their Seraph of the End. Why are Guren and Kureto still cooperating? It's evident at this point that Guren had been attempting to keep another potential Seraph (Yuu) away from Kureto, and said Seraph even defeated his own Seraph.

LOL Yuu was the "King of Salt".

I enjoyed this season more than the previous one. The atmosphere, action, and plot were all more engaging, although I was disappointed that even some questions that had been raised in the previous season still remained unexplained on top of the new unanswered questions. I really liked the mystery and political elements which made things much more intriguing and ambiguous.

The previous season was more character focused, but it seemed as if Yuu's development regressed halfway through this season, and the rest of his group seemed to have lost some amount of the characterization they had been given. Serious predicaments warrant serious and focused moods, however they still should retain the traits that distinguished them. Yuu and Shiho were mostly consistent, Yoichi somewhat faded from relevance, Mitsuba might as well have disappeared after the first season and no one would have noticed, and Shinoa lost much of her witty personality and charm. On the other hand, it was great to see Mika be granted more of the spotlight and development, and his plight has made him endearing to me.

Overall, I enjoyed this show and would be very willing to watch a third season that would hopefully improve on some existing flaws.

Second Season Rating: 7/10

First season was decent, we had a reasonable amount of character development and story was heading somewhere. Second season was shit, story was going nowhere and character development was none existent.

During the first season I thought it would be interesting to see when and how the plot will move into 3 way battle. But second season completely failed to engage me. While watching remaining 5 episodes, a thought kept on creeping into my head...

People are either over-reacting to the "clusterfuck" going on in this episode or just weren't paying enough attention. Not everything is spelled out directly, but it's fairly easy to gauge and draw conclusions, barring a few unexplained alliances and motivations.

I didn't bother reading every page of this thread, but has no one seriously drawn any comparisons between the "Seraph of the End" and Berserk's Eclipse??? It was so similar it was uncanny. Honestly, so much of this anime feels like pieces taken from more popular series loosely stitched together. I'm not even complaining about it, because the way the author does it gives Seraph an identity of its own, but still...

This season was SO MUCH BETTER than season 1. Season 1 was a cliche-ridden mess that irritated me just as often as it did excite me. Season 2 actually contained real plot development, excitement, and tossed out all those annoying shounen cliches that made me cringe every time (while keeping the ones I actually like!).

Looking forward to either a third season or continuing from the manga.
